Cannot log on to HPConnected using IE10.

Hello

I have a little trouble to connect to www.hpconnected.com using IE10. When I try to access this address I get sent to https://h30495.www3.hp.com/c/46226/GB/en/ which is ePrintCenter. If I am there, I have a pop up telling me I will be forwarded to HPConnected but when I click ok it just closes the pop-up and back to the log in page.

This does not happen with Firefox but that is fine for me but the wife wants to stick to what she knows and didn't budge IE.

I have done some tests and I can confirm that change your settings in Chrome will allow you to get to hpconnected.com.

To do:

Click on the three bars in the top right

Click settings to the bottom of the menu

Scroll down the new tab that opens and click on see the advanced settings of the...

Click on the language and input... parameters button down

If the English (United States of America is not in your list, use the Add button

Click English (United States), and then click the name of Google Chrome in this language on the right button

Stop Chrome and and restart

Visit hpconnected.com and you will get the correct site

If you go to the old site and click on the hpconnected.com button which did not work before, it will work now to reach blue

When you are in hpconnected.com you should see your printer and other parameters (guess you'll have to have "improved" to make it work)

Interestingly, this site worked OK on the default browser on an Android phone.  I think that those who are successful with any browser, either on a computer or over the phone, have their regional / language definition on the USA, whether they know it or not, or he wanted to or not.

Well, is this a problem?  Maybe, maybe not.  I left my setting on USA now, but if it causes problems with Gmail or other sites then it will be changed to UK (note you can always keep UK as parameter to check the spelling even if you use of the U.S..).  Maybe I'll have to resort to changing the setting, whenever I need to connect?  In addition, I do not use other browsers, so not sure how easy or it is difficult to do the same.

So, in summary, there are some pretty poor coding and testing going on here.  I guess that all programmers can think we are all incompetent because it works OK for them.  Well, how about you test your website with different regional / language settings - you know - what the rest of world uses!

Thank you to Cass for your help - you also give a clue about this earlier.  Cass, as for the rest of your organization - well, this problem lasts for almost two months now.  It affects a lot of people in many countries - and from the first day, we knew it was a regional / DNS or a similar question.  It doesn't seem to be a fix or a rush to.  I can't imagine that managers who don't think not that this is a problem, rendered account that it's when sales drop and many printers get returned because the printers are simply not what they say on the box.

In my opinion, it is a HUGE problem for you, but maybe the rest of the HP just does not care from anyone outside of the USA.  I can only say to other people who just bought a printer, tried to use hpconnected and can not - don't mind not waiting - take your printer and buy another brand that does the same thing.  Until someone confirms on this thread that this problem is solved without changing your regional settings - then in HP, nobody seems to have incentive, money, influence or power to fix things.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. When was the last time it was working fine?
    3. You have security software installed on the computer?
    4. What is the full error message that you receive?
    5. Are you able to restart and shut down the computer?

    It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

    I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    We have a Dell laptop with the encryption used by the principal of our school at work and at home. At the office, it connects to the network via Ethernet.     When you start windows, before the XP loading screen is displayed, press F8, and then select Safe mode.  See if you start a computer desktop, if it isn't you can run chkdsk /f in command prompt.

    If you cannot start in safe mode, you will need to reinstall (or try a repair installation) and Yes, you will lose this data, although there is a way to back it up.  You will need to download ubuntu and burn it on a cd and backup to external media.

    Windows mail was working fine until about 2: 30 EST 2011-12-14 and tried to send an email and got the above error msg.

    Check with your mail service provider to make sure that there is not an intermittent interruption of service.  If you have webmail capabilities, you can also check.  Otherwise, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and if that doesn't help, remove your e-mail account, close and reopen WinMail and then add it back back.  Also check 3rd party program interference such as antivirus software (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).
