Cannot manually remove Intel PROSet / Wireless

Attempt to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows 8.  Windows Upgrade Assistant is instructing manually uninstall me Intel PROSet / Wireless, because it is not compatible with Windows 8.  I'm unable to do so.

This is how I fixed it:

  • Go to services.msc from RUN
  • Stop these 3 http://i.imgur.com/0QKnn.jpg services
  • Remove the bluetooth folder under http://i.imgur.com/mOChF.jpg
  • Remove services that are associated with them in the cmd (run as administrator):
    SC delete "Bluetooth Device Monitor"
    SC delete "Bluetooth support Service.
    SC delete "Bluetooth OBEX Service"
That should do the trick, it worked for me at least!

    "Error - Service of Intel PROSet/Wireless event log stopped working andwas closed."

    It started a month ago. I can't tell at all what I did--except that I installed a router Linksys Cisco Wireless (802.11 N), replacing an old Netgear device (802.11 G).  My wireless feature works well and I really do not notice the effects to receive this error message.  I don't remember having this error immediately after installation of Linksys.  I "think" some time elapsed before the error started - but I don't re-boot often, so it could be related.

    I'm on Vista Ultimate OS, with Service Pack 2.

    It is a software Intel Wlan (not WLan driver)
    You can download it directly from the Intel page and it works since it worked on my laptop too.

  • Intel PROSet/Wireless on Pro U300 does not recognize, WPA2 or SSID

    Hidden SSID) The Intel PROSet/Wireless client takes up more than an hour sometimes to recognize my wireless router, which is set to WPA2 security and has a hidden SSID. I share with a neighbor, who refused to resign from his security wireless. However, while simple clients such as Netstumbler can find the signal within seconds, the customer supported by Toshiba takes MUCH more time. Why Intel and Toshiba was so slow to update this client? Very simple (1 year) $30 Netgear Wireless USB stick my office connects immediately, without no questions, no problems.

    Windows Windows Update) has just published an "update" that installed itself without my request, which makes now so that the customer of Intel, windows and the system of "configfree" all declare "another wireless control system" when none of them work. Windows now automatically connects to a local wireless router on my street that is not listed on my profile, and who he can't get an IP address because, naturally, it has set up no password.

    First of all that this is a user to user forum and the question as why drivers update not faster is meaningless. What we can do is to provide some suggestions that may solve some problems

    Back to your question; I think you should just check the Intel page and need to install the driver WLan last, available for this minPCI wireless network card.
    In addition, you can choose between 2 different WLan configuration possibilities;
    (1) you can use the clean Windows configuration option
    (2) you can use a WLan configuration client as Intel ProSet utility

    If you use the Intel ProSet utility, then the windows own option should be disabled.
    In last but not least you should check if all the parameters of the Protocol TCP/IP LAN wireless are set to automatic.

    By the way; If you are using XP then you must install this fix;

    + Wi - Fi Protected Access 2 (WPA2) / Wireless Provisioning Services Information Element (WPS IE element) update for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 is available.

  • T42 cannot install drivers Intel PROset for wireless 2915ABG card

    I have upgraded to the adapter a 2100ab to a 2915abg wireless, but have had accidents every time I install the Intel PROset software drivers v11.05.0 (7kwc50ww.exe). I can't use the card because of problems with S24EvMon during the installation of the drivers and associated software. After the attempts, each reboot is greeted with S24EvMon errors 0xc0000409 at the address 0x00454aa0. I have the good hotkey drivers installed (7avu43ww.exe) and (7zku02ww.exe) power management. If I install and try and run the dial-up connections after, it is said that there is something wrong with the installation of the driver. Help?

  • Re: Intel ProSet wireless 18.40.0.9 update breaks wifi

    I have a HP Envy 34 AIO running Windows 10 home and had the same thing happen. I tried rolling back the drivers, but to no avail. I also did a system restore to get back connectivity, but updates were coming back. In the end, I had to use an Ethernet cable to connect.

    I know that it is updated ProSet because, when I rolled back to a previous good state, I opened the network adapter page and looked at the statutes of cards while I manually installed upgrading ProSet intel. Midway through, the wireless adapter is disabled. Then, once the installation is completed, it would not re - activate.

    I also tried to disable all protection (Webroot) software and check that no external connection is listed in the adapter properties, apart from those indicated in the Microsoft Help "Windows could not automatically bind the Protocol IP on the network card stack.

    If all goes well an another update will be released soon to reactivate the Wi - Fi adapter. However, if anyone has a solution, please share. Whenever I return to a previous state, this update installs automatically.

    SOLUTION: In Device Manager, remove the Intel wireless card and a Realtek PCI GBE controller. Run CMD.exe as administrator. Type "netsh int ip reset" to reset the IP connections. See Microsoft Knowledge base "How to reset TCP/IP using the NetShell utility" entry [https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/299357} once it is finished, restart the computer.
