  Searched for Apps to make this opening and found that one that would open in HTML if the attachment contained images/graphics.

  I would like to know who/what that generates ATT suffixes, but it does not seem that MSN.

  The problem is that ATT attachments seem always to come as long as ATT0001, so try to 'Save' would simply replace the previous ATT0001 that has been saved - obviously different content that is lost.

  No change to the system other than to install the version don't Win 8.1 a few months ago.   1. what changes have been made to your computer before the problem?

  I suggest that you follow these steps and check to see if they help.

  Step 1:

  If the problem occurred recently, perform the System Restore to the point that your computer was working normally.

  Step 2:

  Test the issue in a new user account and check if the problem persists.

  I know it says at the bottom of your post you have 9.3.1 but check the settings > general > topic and see what iOS, you're on.

  Create a file association.

  1. download and save the attachment to the office.
  2. right click on the saved file.
  3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
  4. click on: choose [default] program.
  5. Select: Windows Media Player.
  6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
  7. click on OK.

  This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.

  As you mentioned that you don't know if this problem occurs when you use the webmail, and if the problem occurs when you use the webmail on Internet explorer, you can try to reset Internet explorer and check to see if it helps.

I see only a tiny portion of the upper part of the image.  Tried to save the image on my disk hard but could not be opened.  For example: If the size of the image, I'm saving about 800 K, I'll save the image (that I can not open) in a folder on my hard drive.  When I check the properties of the image, it is much smaller, around 8 or 9 K.  Spent an hour on the phone with HP, but couldn't find a solution.  When starting my computer in Mode without fail and go to my email account, I can see the full image.  Would appreciate suggestions in deca a system recovery.  Thank you

  Cannot open any jpeg full image. I'll help you with this problem.

  1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

  2. what security software is installed on the computer?

  3. are you able to open any image with other file extensions?

  4. what application you use to open the images?

  As you can see the full image in safe mode, let's try the following steps.

  Method 1.

  A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

  In little more detail of the previous question! clicking to open attachments in windows mail is no answer. Timer appears just for a second. Not receive error messages.   Have you installed IE8? If so, that's your problem. The drones at microsoft will not acknologe this issue calling it a virus program incompatibility. If you uninstall IE8 yiu will probably be back in the business of making it easily, click on the link between communities at the bottom of the error message and analysis through messages until you see a link to uninstall IE8
