original title: I can't open all MS Office programs.

I get the error message about side-by-side configuration is incorrect and to check the application event log.  I have no idea how to do this or fix the problem.  Can someone explain in same terms of Mickey Mouse to a non-geek?  Thank you!

I'm sorry but the Office comes for free with a windows operating system

You must purchase separately the Office

Acrobat DC, I cannot open 2 files acrobat side by side. In the past, I could take two pages and copy and insert into the document opened adjacent... Thank you

    I'm not what you mean... Start by describing what tools or methods that you use to extract these pages.

    What you write in the first sentence is not true, however. In the dialogue window extract Pages, you can choose whether or not to delete the extracted pages of the original file and extract them as individual pages or not. If you UN-select both options, you will get a single file that contains the pages you have checked out, and they will not be deleted from the original file.

    Cannot open 'Change startup programs' in Control Panel. When I try to run "Start change programs", I get an error message that says: "cannot find 'C:\Program'. Make sure you typed the right name and try again. "Is there anyway that I can replace this file without having to reinstall the operating system?

    Hello

    The message means there is a bad path value (probably is something that must be enclosed in quotation marks). The problem is finding * that * one is bad. Try this way:

    Click Start, and type Windows Defender, and then the . Click on tools, and then click Software Explorer. It opens for you? (this is the same list that you get from the control panel). If this is not the case, how it fails? Hello stephnavarra,

    More side by side configuration errors are caused by the lack of runtime C++ components or corruption.

    I would install all of the following conditions:
    Package redistributable Visual C++ 2005 (X 86)
     http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyId=32BC1BEE-A3F9-4C13-9C99-220B62A191EE&displaylang=en

    Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 (x 86)

    Package redistributable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 (x 86)
    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?ID=5555

    If you use a 64-bit system, you must install the (x 64) version of the above files. You can download from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot open any office files or icons, the Panel even not. Help!

    Hello
    I really need help desperately. I can't open any office files or icons. I restored to the point the closest that I can, but no difference. Cannot open the Panel even from the Start button. My compuetr crashes every time I double-click or right-click on the icon 'My Computer' or 'My Documents '.
    My restore CD that was shipped with the Toshiba Satellite 1800 does not work either. Help, please! I'm really desperate!
    Jess

    What do you think average with "I tried with the restore CD but nothing '? Have you tried to completely format your HARD drive? I had a similar problem, but in my case it was because of the transplant of BONE... so I reinstalled the system from the beginning and it was ok.
    If you can not solve this problem with the cd supplied by the factory... I think it might be a hardware problem, probably due to the HARD drive. Your HARD drive makes strange noises, like "Click - Clack"?

    Good bye

  • Cannot open files (desktop programs) *.exe

    When I try to open .exe files I get a message error that says "this file doesn't have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel. " I went to control panel > tools > folder options > file types and tried to put 'exe' to 'demand', but that doesn't seem to work. Funny enough, I am able to open other types of programs such as pictures, videos and files PDF and if I open a file html directly, I can open Firefox, but I can't open firefox.exe directly. I want to run an antivirus program or malware-check software, but of course, I can't open any .exe files.

    I am running Windows XP SP3 on a Lenovo Thinkpad T61.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Before you answer, please note the specific language in my error message. I want to emphasize that this link does not solve my problem. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837334.

I'm exausted out everywhere is going to fix this problem with no result other than buying something that I know can be done without. Thank you Robert K b.

    Hi Robert K B,.

    It seems that the file on your computer is corrupted, and the default program to open files is set to Adobe Reader.

    Method 1: As a first step of troubleshooting, you can uninstall Adobe Reader and check if the file associations are defined by default.

    Method 2:
    Once you uninstall Adobe on your computer, follow these steps to resolve the problem:

    a. Click Start, click Run, and type command

    b. type the following commands one by one:

    cd\windows
    Regedit

    c. If the Registry Editor opens successfully, then navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT \ exefile-shell-open-command

    d. double-click the (default) value in the right pane.

    e. delete the current value data, and then type:

    "%1" %*
    (ie., quote-percent-one-quote-space-percent-asterisk.)

    f. navigate to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe

    • In the right pane, set (default) exefile

    g. quit the registry editor.

    Check if this helps you.

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

  • Cannot open the Lightroom program

    When I try to open 5 Lightroom my computer tells me that it's already open in another application. I don't know where it is. any ideas?

    I couldn't find exactly the Lightroom Catalog icons that you showed in the message above... I had already gone to pictures/Lightroom and clicked on remove previously so he showed no file... I clicked on Delete again and that removed Lightroom in the catalog of photos... and I am now able to open my lightroom program... I have all my pictures import again... but it's ok... I am so relieved to be able to open the program. You know how it happened? Thank you very much.
