Cannot open multiple windows of firefox

The problem is that I can't open multiple windows of firefox to 1 times. He repeated to me that firefox is running or it turns right on the 2nd time support us firefox icon every time that I do this. Can you please come up with a solution. Yes, we can open several tabs, but cannot get more than 1 session running at the same time.
Is there any solution for this?

Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

  • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
  • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
  • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

Thank you.

I have Windows XP. Since I've upgraded to 7.0.1 (and today 8.0) I was not able to open multiple windows of Firefox. I did check TABS instead of WINDOWS, but Firefox open or anything, when I try to start a 2nd window of he or she opens a tab. Please fix this.

Do again if you start Firefox save mode?

    • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
    • Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')
  • After update when I open Firefox, it opens several windows of Firefox additional 14-17

After updating to version 6.x of Firefox when I start Firefox it opens multiple windows instead of just a window. It will be open between 14 to 17 additional windows and I have to manully Cross and close each of them.

It is possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file [2] and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

If you see files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js then delete those as well.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

  • Win7 Home Premium: I want to open multiple windows to "windows explorer". Presario CQ62.

Before Win7, there was an icon to open Windows Explorer, and I could open multiple windows of it.  I really miss this feature; It was great for transferring files.  (How) can I do now?

I also want to move the icon on the desktop and out of the taskbar.

  • I have been using aol. It allows you to open multiple windows. How do you do this with Firefox? b

Basically, I want to acievethis without running multiple copies of Firefox.

In the menu, select new tab-> new window. It will run two windows but that a single copy of Firefox. You can also use separate tabs by selecting new tab.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I open multiple copies of Firefox - like I used to do on the old computer?

I have a new computer and downloaded Firefox 28.0 I need to have multiple copies of Firefox opened at the same time when working on projects. Using tabs is completely unacceptable, because I do not see a piece of information at a time. I don't know anything about programming, so please don't tell me to do anything related to that. Is the best solution to remove the new version and return to the old ones?

One thing I do in this case is to open several tabs, and then drag one tab away from others. When you drag the tab away it will open in its own window, which gives you what sounds like you after.

    Good luck!

  • Is it possible to open several windows in firefox 5.0? I can't do windows quick launch and the right click "open in a new window" does nothing.

Yes, not much more to say. Since I've upgraded to firefox 5.0, I opened several windows. Several tabs to work, but I don't like tabs. Help, please.

See if they work in Mode safe mode, which is very easy to test Firefox 5.

Safe mode: to appear in safe mode, a time when you do not not tick the subjects (they are definitely not safe). Help ('Alt + H") >"restart with disabled modules. If there is no problem then it is almost certainly of an extension.

If it works, try to find the addon (s) causing the problem.

    1. Disable half of the extensions and restart Firefox. At this point, you are no longer using safe and test extensions.
    2. If the problem persists, disable half of the other extensions

If it does not work select last half of people disabled
Then restart. and check again at step 2.

In case of failure to isolate the problem return answer and so resolute mark thread as resolved.
