  • Quick Time Player does not work in El Capitan

Now Quick Time Player does not work properly.  When I click to use it, the only thing it allows me to do is 'click to drag', while he was recording a screen, buttons disappear and the only way I can stop the recording is to go to the menu screen and exit the Quick Time Player.  So annoying!

It also is not allowing me to change.  When I try to edit my videos and then save it, it says that it cannot save the file.

None of this makes no sense at all.

You have a bad installation, I believe. QT works fine on my systems.

El Capitan works very well. Sometimes, it is not for lack of the tennis racket. Review download and reinstall OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 Combo Update.

  • Quick time player does not work

I used to be able to download videos from my camera in my photo folder and play.  Now, when I click on one, all I get is an error message telling me to download Apple Application Support.  When I try to do all I get is something called driver Detectivemc which begins to be free, but all of a sudden, you have to pay for it.  What is the problem.  When I click on the Quick Time Player icon on my desktop, I get the same message.  I can't find how to upgrade all the drivers without having to pay for them.  Please help me.  Oh yes, using Windows Explorer, Vista Home premium.

    TIA.

You can try to download and use this program to uninstall third party to remove the detective driver. Revo uninstaller pro offers a free 30 day trial.

    Hi hemanth.sans,

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

As I understand it, there is a problem with QuickTime Player and Preview do not open files on your MacBook Pro. This problem occurs with all files or specific media files?

  • Cannot open the application "Mail" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported

I work on a MacBook Pro mid 2012

    Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz

    OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

The Mail app suddenly quit and when I tried to resume, I got this message

"Cannot open the application"Mail"because the PowerPC applications are no longer supported."

This also happens with the "Maps" app

All Mac software are up to date, but "Mail" has been working fine since my last update that was awhile ago.

I am confused to say the least. Suggestions? Thank you!

If you do a Get Info (command - I) on Mail and Maps applications, what version numbers do you see?

    Try a reboot.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  • Media center and ipod - (quick time player)

Hello. Media Center works fine, until I installed ipod and player quick time which is part of the itunes put in place.

Now DVD will play is no longer in the media library. I just get a blank black screen. I tried to change settings in quick time player and entered my types of file, computer, tools, folderoptions to see QT's striking anything, it shouldn't, but no joy at all.

DVD will play when the laptop turn on but nothing plays when it is started. ???

    Hello

Can watch you DVDs using preinstalled InterVideo WinDVD player?

It's very strange question. I can t believe that installation of Real player has a certain influence on WMCE.

If you want to check previous status again try to use the System Restore tool.
