Cannot ping static IP to other network on the Internet.

I'm having a problem with Vista who don't get my XP boxes.  When I ping the network public static IP address, it does not work on Vista home, but not on XP pro.  I have all the network sharing on and I can ping other IP on the internet from Vista without problem.  How can I solve this problem?  Thanks in advance for you help.

Hello

1. are you able to go online on the Vista machine?
2 you get an error message when trying to ping IP address on the Vista computer?

We recommend that you reset TCP/IP on the Vista computer and check the result. To do this, see the following article, download and run Microsoft fix:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357

Try the steps and post back results.

Kind regards

  • When ISE goes down, none of the computers can get to shared network or the Internet.

We only run Cisco ISE 1.4 with only computer authentication and recently had a power outage for about 6 hours. When the batteries of the UPS drained EHT servers are connected to the, none of the computers could connect what either. The NETWORK card on the computers had an error authentication failed. We "Rescue of unauthorized network access", selected on each computer. Is there a way to allow all computers access to the network and the internet as usual when the ISE servers are down?

The port configuration is less to:

    switchport access vlan 77
    switchport mode access
    switchport voice vlan 777
IP access-group ACL by DEFAULT in

You must use a script of EEM to change the ip access list that you assigned to the interface, to something with "permit ip any any" inside.

'action dead event server authentication allows vlan 77' won't work that in configurations in closed mode, do not use an acl of pre approval.

  • Once the VPN connection is established, cannot ping or you connect other IP devices

Try to get a RV016 installed and work so that people can work from home.  You will need to charge customers remote both WIN XP and MAC OS X.

Have the configured router and works fine with the VPN Linksys client for WIN XP users.  Can connect, ping, mount the shared disks, print to printers to intellectual property, etc.

Can connect to the router fine with two VPN clients third 3 for Mac: VPN Tracker and IPSecuritas.  However, once the connection is established, cannot ping the VPN LinkSYS router or any other IP address on the LAN Office.  Turn the firewall on or off makes no difference.

Is there documentation anywhere that describes how the LinksysVPN for Windows Client communicates so these can be replicated in 3rd VPN clients from third parties for the Mac in OS X?

The connection with IPSecuritas and VPN Tracker is performed using a shared key and a domain name.  It is not a conflict of IP address network between the client and the VPN 192.168.0.0/24 network.

VPN Tracker and IPSecuritas are able to connect to the routers CISCO easy VPN with no poblem.

Any ideas on how to get the RV016 to work for non-Windows users?

We found and fixed the problem, so using VPN Tracker or current IPSecuritas on OS X people have access to the LAN via the RV016 machines. The "remote networks" in the screen BASE in VPN Tracker has been set on the entire subnet: 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 the in the RV016 has been set to the IP of 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.254 range. Even if the addresses are essentially the same, without specifying the full subnet in the RV016 has allowed the connection to do but prevented the VPN client machine to connect because the RV016 would pass all traffic to the Remote LAN. Change the setting of 'local group' in RV016 settings in the screen "VPN/summary/GroupVPN', 'Local Group Zone' for the subnet 192.168.0.0/24 full solved the problem.

  • Cannot ping vpn client of 1721 cli on the tunnel endpoint

I have a 1721 fortunately supporting ipsec vpn client connections. With one small exception, everything works perfectly fine.

    The VPN pool is 10.10.10.1 - 10.10.10.254

The interface internal f0 is attributed to 192.168.1.254/24.

    In my example:

Ip address of the VPN client is 10.10.10.5

The host address of an arbitrary machine on the internal lan is 192.168.1.151

    I am able to ping 192.168.1.151 10.10.10.5

I'm * not * able to ping 10.10.10.5 192.168.1.254 using the cli on the 1721.

There is a very good reason to want to solve this problem. I would like to be able to access a tftp server on the client vpn directly from the router in order to download the new startup-config files. Is it possible to get the traffic of vpn-/ tunnel-point endpoint client tftp to travel through the tunnel?

When you ping from the CLI on the router, the packet will be from the external interface, not the IP address fa0 interface. The VPN client and the router only built a tunnel from the 10.10.10.5 address the 192.168.1.0 network, then the router not cryptera a package that her origin is outside the IP address.

Try to ping extended to 10.10.10.5 and source of 192.168.1.254 package and see if it works. If it does, you will have also to the source of your TFTP packets from inside interface, you can do with:

    IP tftp source interface fa0

  • connect other computers to the internet through an ad hoc network of a connection__ broadband windows 7

I have a HP netbook with a Windows 7-based broadband connection.  I created a residential group of this netbook so other computers running Windows XP can connect to it and use the connection Strip.  I have inconsistent results.  Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

My question how do I set up a gateway to the internet from the netbook to other computers can access the internet.

Do I need to set up a network of residential group for this place?  Is there some settings of internet connection of the netbook I need to change (for now that I disabled the firewall, so it does not interfere).

    Thank you

I do not use a router.  My netbook has a map broadband and a wi - fi card.  Simply, I connect to internet through my broadband card.  I tried other computers to be able to access the internet through that connection, that's why I've set up homegroup (maybe I would not do?)

Anyway, sometimes it works but is not for most.  I'm trying to keep it simple and not get a router, etc. since it is a situation that's going to happen from time to time.

    Thanks for responding!

    As posted earlier...

To use your netbook as access wireless router/AP watch these GUI frontends to netsh commands that will do this for you. I do not think that you have ICS enabled to do so.

ICS, in my experience there is a very long time is flakey at best...

  • Connection wifi MacBook largue network from the internet

There are 5 other devices connected in wifi and the system is stable for days if my macbook is not connected. Other devices include iphone, android phone, kindle, another a little newer macbook pro. As soon as I start my wifi device on my mac pro book and log on to the network, the drops of internet connection to all devices on the network and I have to power cycle the router. The router is relatively new (less than a year). It's a TRENDnet TEW 812DRU. This problem moved not initially. My laptop works fine on all other wifi networks, that I connect.

Don't forget to set the "link-local only" or off IPv6.

  • Unable to get the virtual networks on the internet...

    Hello

Can someone help me configure this network... I can't get him VLAN 50 and 100 to access internet, I that's all

    Assistant to the void anywere?

I put in a drawing of my network... pls ask if its anyting info/settings I need to check...

    Thx anyway

Hi Joar, if your goal is to obtain VLAN 50 and 100 for the internet, these need DHCP service VLAN default router specified as 192.168.2.1 for 50 VLANS and 192.168.3.1 for 100 of VLAN. Once you specify the default router, you will notice that your client lease will have a default gateway 192.168.3.1 and 192.168.2.1 respectively.

On the router RV042, first enable multiple subnet in IPv4 tab click the button activate multiple subnet, then type the ip address of LAN 192.168.3.1 with mask 255.255.255.0 and then make a second entry 192.168.2.1 with mask 255.255.255.0 and record it.

Once this is done, you need to do a few static routes on router

IP address of destination - 192.168.3.0 mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.3.1 number of sections 1

IP address of destination - 192.168.2.0 mask 255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.2.1 number of sections 1

The static route must be done correctly, otherwise any subnet, the router is not a member of the will not work.

  • WRT54G: cannot access IP addresses a particular range of the internet

We have a WRT54G (material v6) we have used for some years, in conjunction with a modem cable to create a home wifi network. In recent days, we have been unable to access sites in the 130.160.x.x IP range (i.e. those at the University of Alabama). A particular example is ua.edu (130.160.4.131). The rest of the internet works fine.

It's on Ubuntu 12.04, Windows 7 or Android ICS; with Chrome, Firefox, IE9, or SSH. If I connect the modem to a laptop Ubuntu directly by USB, I can get to ua.edu very well.

I tried to reset the default router, update the firmware, connection via ethernet instead of wifi and use the servers Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 in the router, but the problem persists. Naturally, au helpdesk, Comcast and Linksys were all useless, helpless, or uncooporative.

    Any ideas?

I could probably just pick up a cheap router and see if it works instead of investing too much time on it. It would be the best way to isolate.

You can choose a refurb out of the store pretty cheap linksys router. It is never a bad idea to have a backup router anyway.

I'm going to you humour with my last guess apart from the FBI or the NSA. A member of your family or a neighbor's an auburn fan and they consulted your router GUI and blocked the site using parental controls. That's my final guess.

  • Network using the internet key to Rogers

I just high speed internet with Rogers internet key (uses cell signal) and it works fine. I went and bought a WRT110 so I could set up a home network, but I never considered that the router wants to be connected to a modem (which I do not have because it's just a small USB key). I know there is a way to put in place the internet sharing with this router but don't know how. I would also be also if possible the ability to share files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sharing Internet can be done, but its not sure if it will work with your type of connection or not.

Connect the USB key to your computer, and then connect the Ethernet cable from your computer to the Internet Port Linksys router, you need to connect one of your computer to the Ethernet Port of the router, you can access the router configuration page and make the changes to this topic.

Click here how to enable ICS.

Once you enable ICS, then go to the computer that is connected to the Ethernet Port of the router and check if you are able to browse Internet. If you are able to browse the internet on your computer, on the same computer, you need to connect to your router and make the changes of no thread on this, so that your wireless computer can go online via the router wireless.

Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...
For wireless settings, follow these steps: -.
    Click on the Wireless tab
-Here, select manual configuration... Wireless network mode must be mixed...
-Provide a unique name in the name box of the wireless network (SSID) in order to differentiate your network from your network of neighbors...

-Set the Standard - 20 MHz Radio band and change the Standard channel to 11-2, 462 GHz... Wireless SSID broadcast should be enabled and then click on save settings...
Please take note of the name of the wireless network (SSID) because it's the network identifier...
    For wireless security: -.
Click the sub-tab under wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the mode of WEP wireless security, encryption must be 64-bit. Let the empty password, do not type in anything...
Under type of WEP Key 1 in all 10 numbers please (numbers only and no mailbox for example: your 10-digit phone number) and click on save settings...
Please note the 1 WEP key as it comes to the security key for the wireless network...

    Click the settings advanced wireless
Change the interval of tag to 75 > change the Fragmentation threshold to 2304, change the RTS threshold to 2304 > click 'save settings '...
Now let's see if you can locate your wireless network and try to connect...
