  Whenever I open a file, an action could takes place and download the file - this is not always wanted! In addition, whenever I save a file, it downloads, it is certainly not wanted.

  How to identify the usb port

  When you plug in the flash drive to any USB port, it will appear in Windows Explorer with a drive letter (you can have an installation software to run first and you may need to format the drive - it depends on the drive and how it happened).  It's all that you need to access the drive.  You have no need to identify the port to use the flash player.  The port itself is not really identified except in Device Manager when you disable one of the ports and then see that it is more work, and it would be the port (but that would just fix the port or re - install the drivers if necessary).
