Cannot read Blu - ray in Windows 7

I have a HP S5160F desktop PC.  He has a drive of super disc including Blu - ray.  Since I've upgraded to Windows 7 I was not able to play a Blu - ray disc. I recognizes and plays regular DVD but not Blu - ray.  Media Player displays the disc is loaded, but says it is empty.  The Device Manager shows the latest drivers are loaded.  Automatic downloads are enabled.

Install a codec Blu - ray or DVD player software which includes a Blu - ray codec.

  • Cannot read Blu Rays with software HP DVD play BD and HD DVD

I have a Pavilion m9060n Vista desktop computer. Running HDMI on a monitor Samsung. It is used to play Blu Rays on the rare times where I tried it, now, it won't. I went through the procedure of updating through Cyberlink and now I'm stuck with this:

"Do you want to activate your reader now" flashes on the display and the program stops. This happens on multiple disks.

I reinstalled the DVD playback software, run the Cyberlink BD & 3D Advisor and it passes. I tried to read a comic that I ripped to my hard drive, video playback, but there is no sound, probably due to the fact that he is no longer a healthy option HMDI in DVD playback menu.

For testing purposes, I have download the Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 trial and everything works fine which must exclude a hardware problem.

Who did the trick. Everything I threw at it worked well. I tried to do an update, the police is unreadable on my screen and it gave me the opportunity to close this window. Impossible to tell what version it is.

Drive DVD Toshiba says "this player does not support playback of the DVD" O.o

And Corel WinDVD says "WinDVD information service is not yet ready. "Please try again later".

I've updated the Win DVD player and he always made the same mistake.

  • SlimType DVD A DS8A5SH - could not read Blu - ray discs

    Hello community...

My machine is ASUS A43S laptop and the drive Slimtype DVD A DS8A5SH CD Rom...

Well, I tried to play the "Blu - ray movies" and I get on the Properties tab... Unknown disc...

NOTE: DVD movies will play fine...

So, I tried a few things...

    (1) installed the VLC Blu - ray playback (of course) software

NOTE: VLC player works great for DVD movies, but won't play Blu - ray...

    (2) I tried to update driver... but the driver is updated... Of course, I look on the internet and my drive is the best. Microsoft 6.1.7601.17514 release date: 21/06/2006

And nothing I did make my CD ROM drive play Bul - ray...

I am inclined to believe that the Slimtype DVD A DS8A5SH just isn't a Blu - ray player...

    Thank you

    Hello Russell,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I appreciate your patience.

It is regrettable that the CD/DVD drive cannot read Blu - ray discs.

However, please do not hesitate to answer, if you have other problems with Windows.

    Hi George,.

I suggest you to use your favorite search engine to find and download any third-party application to read the blue ray discs.

  • When I try to read Blu - Ray, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. »

    Original title: Blu - Ray

My computer can read blu - ray, but when I try to play one, it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disk has been created in a way that does not support the player. "How should I do?

    Hello

The Blu - ray disc format is not supported in Windows Media Player. To play a Blu - ray Disc, you must use a non-Microsoft program that supports playback of Blu ray and a device that can play Blu ray discs.

  • Tecra A11 - 17N - reading Blu - ray?

Running a Tecra A11 - 17N with Windows 7 and an eSATA (or USB) plugged the external Blu - ray writer. The supplied software (Cyberlink) for Blu - ray playback has an "Advisor", which reported on the ability of the various functions of reading Blu - ray discs (BDs). I appears that it is only the graphics card Driver / which is the problem, see the picture here:

The 'i' link info tells me to check that everything is up to date with Intel drivers, what I did (I think!).

One got a Tecra reading Blu - ray discs?

If I understand you right you have problems to read the external ODD connected Blu - Ray disc?
With other preinstalled words Cyberlink doesn't have access to the drive externally, right?

To be honest, I'm a bit confused because your laptop has no internal feature of Blu - Ray and Blu - Ray player. According to the specifications of the computer laptop Toshiba DVD player must be installed on this computer.
are you sure you've got this Cyberlink with original Toshiba recovery image?

I had the same problem. Windows showed the drive correctly, but he did not read anything.

    No miracle software worked.

    Solution:

Open the drive and clean the laser with a soft cloth. Move as gently strong laser unit and back. Put in a CD and turn manually for 30 seconds.

I do not know which of the two actions helped... but it worked for me! Solved

  • Qosmio F750-11v - problem reading Blu - Ray 2d - 3d conversion

    Hello.

    Can anyone help please?

I have a laptop Qosmio F750-11v 3d and although I can use the disk drive Toshiba Blu - Ray to convert standard DVDs to play in 3d using the 2d - 3d conversion tool integrated in the drive and they work great and also appreciate and understand that I can not reading Blu - Ray DVD and convert them using the same way 2d - 3d conversion tool. May I ask why, when I bought the New Avengers 3d Blu - Ray Disc I don't see it 3D even when I activated the drive on the "3d method" tab and active the check box for "turn on 3d Blu - Ray disc mode"?

The software of face recognition using webcam of the tracks OK.
I get an error message when you try to play the disc 3d does not recognize that a 3d Blu - Ray player is being used or that I have a computer 3d?
All my drivers are up to date etc.

Why can I not see a true 3d images generated on my pc drive?

    Confused?

    Al.

    Hello

AFAIK you can use Toshiba video player for playback of DVDs and video files.
But NOT Blu - ray discs!
To read disc blue ray, you need to use the WinDVD BD for Toshiba, is another tool installed on the laptop.

But beware: ONLY Toshiba video player supports converting 2D to 3D

  • My optiarc cant BD ROM BC-5500 ATA device read blue ray discs, it can only be read normal CD-ROMs. Please help :(

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Always do a job - even in a first time?  If so, pilots may have been replaced by a Microsoft Update and maybe that's why it doesn't work anymore.  Check the drivers and see if there is an option to restore the drivers to a previous version (which may be supplied with the system when he worked).  If so, try the restore and see if that solves the problem.  Make sure that it not only reads blu ray disks but can read and burn CDs and DVDs as it should.  If not you can always just reinstall the drivers by unscrewing the restore and restore the drivers who were there before you started this effort and again to confirm that it still works except for playing blu ray discs.

I don't see the point in HP brake a blu ray player that has no driver available for it - I have never actually heard of what happens with a manufacturer or the device installed on the computers they sell.  Someone at HP left dropped the ball big time on this one.  Maybe HP will give you a free exchange to another blu ray player they may have available for your computer making the drivers for it and who actually works like the one bought you is not - it can't hurt to ask.  Check the options first then you can ask to him who is of at least equal quality and is the same price, or maybe a bit more expensive - they can always be arranged because of the problem, they know exists.  I guess that it's still under warranty, so that shouldn't be a problem.  It's an option-, but the decision is yours.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Reading Blu - Ray under the latest version of VMWare Fusion?

    Hello

Is it possible to watch Blu - Ray on Windows 7

(e.g. with Corel WinDVD Pro 2010) under the latest version of VMWare Fusion?

    Thank you!

BlueRay decoding requires several layers of DRM support and is not currently supported.

  • Export to Blu - ray format: Windows only?

On page 464 of the CS6 PDF, he States:

Send to again for creating files of DVD, Blu - ray Disc, or SWF

You can send video to any sequence in Adobe Encore for output to DVD, Blu - ray Disc (Windows only) or a SWF file.

This intermediate expression may not be true, or is it? I'm on a Mac running Adobe Master Suite, and it never entered my head that I couldn't make a Blu - ray player.

All this means is that you can not use the "send again" (dynamic links) for a bluray. Just open again and import an exported file. Many users prefer this dynamic link for Bluray.

Whether it is true (PC here), no idea.

You can also try opening again and use the file-> Adobe Dynamic Link-> PR sequence see if by some very funny circumstance, you can link dynamics of this end. But I suspect not.

Edit: I have not found such a restriction in help yet. The "windows only" only appears once in the PDF - irrelevant to this topic.
