Cannot receive emails, but can send them using Windows Mail.

Hello

For the last 3 days I have not received e-mails in Windows Mail but you can send. I get them in Yahoo without any problem and could send in Yahoo yesterday, but today it is hit and Miss... I tried to send test e-mails to myself at once and to the e-mail address of my husband which I can access. He received some emails from Yahoo but not all and seems to have received all e-mails from Windows Mail.  I have followed all the advice on the forums, checked the settings, c.t., removed my anti-virus etc. but nothing worked. I also tried restoring the system until the problem has started again to. It happened all of a sudden and I had not changed anything on my computer to cause this. I'm sorry about the E-mail confusion I hope that makes sense. This leads me into the wall. I hope you can help please.

Windows Live Mail does not have a password for himself.  Yes, he is the one making the request, but it is requested in the name of the mail server.  It works like this:

  1. WLM asks the server to email "Can I have some email?
  2. Mail server (Yahoo) asks "what's the password?"
  3. WLM asks the user (you) for the password
  4. WLM sends the password you gave to the server (Yahoo)
  5. Yahoo sends emails

Something between steps 3 and 5 have a problem.  Possible causes:

  • Your Yahoo! More premium email service has expired and you need to pay/renew your subscription to Yahoo
  • Your password has been changed without your knowledge
  • You type the wrong password (maybe by mistake because of shift CapsLock or NumLock)
  • Yahoo changed the setting on the server and you need to update your account settings in the WLM options.

  • My gmail account has been hacked. Unable to connect to receive emails, I can send them.  Any suggestions?

My gmail on my Macbook pro account has been hacked since I'm unable to connect to it to receive emails, but can send emails. Any ideas would be welcome.

If you can send an email to your Gmail address, then you can log, because you can't do one without the other.  What makes you think that your account has been hacked?  Have you tried to go on the Google site and change your password?

    Original title: e-mail

I can receive email, but just started not being able to send everything.

The error message is quite explicit. You send from an IP address embarqhsd.net which has been blaclisted for spamming. Try to stop your modem power supply in order to get a different IP address.  If you have access to another SMTP server, try this.

Help, please

Were you able to send and receive at all?
Your ISP (internet service provider) is Verizon, but what do you use as mail client? i.e. Windows Live Mail?
    Your server names are:
    Incoming server: incoming.verizon.net
    Outgoing server: outgoing.verizon.net
How to change the names of servers. The method applies to both Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail...
Open your e-mail program, > menu bar, tools > Options > accounts > clicking on the verizon account > properties > tab servers make your changes here > click OK when finished.

Note: you may have problem with port #25 send, if this is the case, change it to 587.
Sorry to be honest, I have the feeling that you never have the Setup program before your e-mail account. If so, please call Verizon for the technical help section, ask them to lead you through setting up an e-mail account. They might have a website for this purpose.

  • I can send emails but cannot receive them using windows mail

I have a roadrunner email acct which went down temporarily. When it was restored that my windows mail now only sends e-mails. What has changed and how to fix it?

There is no way that we can tell from here. Go to tools | Accounts | Email account | Properties and on all the tabs, make sure that the settings are like lack of RR, be they.

  • Can receive email, but can't send them. I use Outlook express

Tried the solution given on the similar problem as dated July 6, but it didn't work.  I use Windows XP.

    Hi Carol,.

The following Microsoft article should help resolve the problem.

  • Can receive email, but can't send them now

problem is that for some reason that we cannot send emails using Thunderbird or Outlook. can receive but not send now. has worked for years. Roadrunner and McAfee has verified but say that everything goes well with them that it's a windows problem.

We can send emails if we mail Roadrunners program online, but not with Thunderbird or Outlook of the computer. Help pleasee\?

Webmail is sent and an e-mail client is apples and oranges. I think the problem is with McAfee or Road Runner.

Close all programs except OE. Disable McAfee completely and try to send. If it's not her, it must be something with RR and or your settings. Call technical support and have them reset your password.

  • I can receive email, but not send. Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0B__

It was fine a couple of days, when I last sent an email, but since yesterday I can not send and get the following message.

    An unknown error has occurred.

    Subject 'test '.
    Server: 'mailhost.zen.co.uk '.
Windows Live Mail error ID: 0x800CCC0B
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure (SSL): No.

You have a configured antivirus program to analyze the messages, including outgoing mail?  It is the main causes of problems sending, so it is best to remove it from the environment.  Uninstall your AV program and reinstall it without any lscanning may feature.  You can also open a command prompt window and see if you can connect to the server and the port you are trying to use.

    C:\ > telnet mailhost.zen.co.uk 25

[Ctrl +] followed by 'Quit' you will get if the connection is successful.

  • Can receive email, but not send, it says incorrect login or password, but it needs people to receive?

MY mini iPad worked fine for a while then when trying to send mail has been a failure, said incorrect login or password. Can I receive ok?

Try resetting your e-mail account. First close your Mail application completely from the window of the selector app by double clicking the Home button and drag the email preview pane up until it disappears from the display. Then go to settings > Mail, Contacts, calendar > find your e-mail provider and click on the account and the blow to remove. Then perform a forced reboot. Hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Then go to settings > mail... and to add the account.

    Hello CMP1960,

Your provider of fair access to the questions:

Basic information you need to set your E-mail account:
Incoming mail server type = POP3
    Inbound: pop3.mail.wowway.com
    Outbound: smtp.mail.wowway.com
Your account name is the user name you selected for your e-mail address
Your password is the password that you selected when you created your e-mail username and password.

You do not have your correct outgoing server name: are subject: How do you know ', account: 'pop3.mail.wowway.com', Server: 'smtp.mail.woway.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, secure (SSL): no, Socket error: 10013, error number: 0x800CCC0E

You must add an another 'w' in the name of the server. It must be smtp.mail.wowway.com.

    I hope this helps.
