  • Monitor Pavillion22bw: impossible to reset the monitor to factory setting hp

I've been setting up a new monitor, Pavilion 22 forbw and our laptop brand new, Pavilion x 2 10 detouchable.  When we tried to solve a black band around window, we have adjusted the configuration of the monitor.  Since we are new on both devices and win 8 or 8.1 we must have done something we did not want.  As you may have guessed, we are not really competent in PC set ups.

Please, help us to these problems.

1: the monitor display purple tinted image, while the computer screen is normal.

2: the factory reset on the monitor does not work as if the purple hue is the default setting.

3: the initial problem of the black band is still there.  We have 22 '' monitor but it shows only the size of a 15 "or more.

Step 2. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute
Step 3. Plug the power cable in the monitor, and then to the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)

  • Is there a way to restore the system to factory setting

    Original title: Reinstalling windows

I would like to restore or reinstall the system on my computer because my computer appears to be infected with the virus and there are a lot of problem with the system as impossible to install net framework. I have never create any point before restoration, and the recovery of the manufacturing company (Acer) tool does not work for reasons unknown. I would like to know if there is a way to restore the system to factory setting. And also, if I have the windows 7 key product that comes with this computer (I think that its probably an OEM product key), what I have to buy a new key of product if I reinstall windows 7 on this computer?

    Thank you for your reply,

However, I tried with the Acer eRecovery Management and there are two problems:

    • I open Acer eRecovery than Management with System Manager. When I click on restore or create Factory default disc, it says please wait and there is an infinite loading.
    • Also, when I use Alt + F10 to open, it says please complete operating system configuration process.

Scores of recovery and/or access to them can get damaged.

As the partition recovery is photographed on the hard drive by Acer in the manufacture of your machine, we have nothing to do with changing/fixing this recovery process once there are problems with it.

As you have a preinstalled OEM license (Acer, Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

But Acer does not normally keep recovery disks for you to buy for older operating systems, so it comes down to borrow the exact same edition of Windows 7 DVD to a friend, etc. and by using the product key on the COA sticker on your machine.

This is what looks like a sticker of COS:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

  • Backup complete pc cannot find the image after factory reset

Don't know what forum this is because it is not quite fit any category.  Happy to have redirected it.

Had some problems with my laptop, so I created a full backup in Vista Business pc.  Then I reset the phone to factory settings and tried to reinstall the saved image.  The Vista is OEM installed, so used F8.  The system can't find the image even if I select D drive and view the file.

Thinking it's perhaps something to do with connections etc. that I had put in place a new instance, I created a new complete pc backup and it does not find this to be.

I bought Acronis and copied the original image (which was also recorded on an external drive) then tried to reinstall on drive C.  He failed.

Don't know what to do next.  Everything seems to be on the disks.  I read something about the load drivers.  Also something about the use of a virtual server.

Don't know where to go from here.  It's been nearly three days.

    Nine Hills,

Where you store your backup Image? On your D drive?

You have access to a retail Vista installation disc? If Yes, you can run the System Recovery Options that allow you to do a complete PC Restore to outside the Vista desktop environment.

If not, try the following steps:

    1. Click on Start-> in the field type to start searching the backup status and Configuration, click on enter.
    2. Click on restore files on the left, click Advanced Restore. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
    3. Choose the files from a backup made on a different computer.
    4. Select the location of the backup you want to restore. (Can you locate your Image of restoration here?)
    5. Click Next, and follow the wizard to complete your restoration.

    This resolves who you know?
