Cannot restart after the update of XP last night (08/13/09)
Power the computer off last night, he said "stop after installing updates", so I just left the office.
Is here this morning, the computer will not re-start in safe mode or safe mode with command prompt.
I get the "Sorry for the inconvenience" screen
A ran a chkdsk and rebuild bootcfg
When I try to start in safe mode, it seems to load takes with several lines of things like:
"multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\system32\ntoskrnl.exe ' etc, etc.
then hangs just at a black screen with the last few lines of that on it.
I can get start menu with f8, I can run the retore console, but I can't get a safe mode prompt to try a system restore from there.
HELP, I'm stuck.
And Yes, I know it's a Questionmark XP a Vista forum, but I can't find the XP forum.

Cannot restart after the update
Hi givepaulhelp,
Since you was not able to continue the analysis as possible you have spyware or virus. Here are a few options for scanning your system. No one program can catch them all.

Visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think. Two more days but I'm getting nowhere other than having may be a better solution on what is false. It seems that, although the Windows Genuine Advantage Validation auditor finds that my copy of Vista Ultimate is valid, it always returns a 0x80070426 error (also an error 0 x 80070002). I can't turn on the software licensing service and various functions do not work (for example control panel, windows update, audio). The report below (now that I finally understood how to generate it) will probably be helpful to someone who knows more about this stuff than me.
I tried spyware and malware scans of four different programs all came the harmless (other than tracking cookies) empty, so I think that the problem is related to my registry get corrupted when I tried to install an update to Windows (or IE8). My problem looks roughly the same as that for the guy in this link: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/genuinevista/thread/5c956fd9-0ade-4841-8383-c53e93d47680 but before I try something stupid, please give me a start. (As I have tried scannow and I can't boot mode safe (only ' disable the drive Signature Enforcement'), the solutions in this link don't work anyway) I think that it all boils down to getting the software licensing service to work and maybe a few other corrupt fixing registry entries. Could a SP2 install on do I cure everything?

iPad will not restart after the update iOS9.3. Should force us the reboot?
By restart do you average will not turn on?
There seems to be a bit of a problem past, especially with older models of iPad 2. Some people have reported success after that restore their device via iTunes, for others that it has not worked and all they get is a message "bring it in an apple store.
Since it affects a lot of people, I think it's safe to say that the problem lies in the range of Apple. But I don't think it is recognized or no matter what put forward fix.
You can try to restore your device, or you may just be stuck waiting to see if a fix comes out.

Went to Microsoft Update and downloaded and installed a few optional upgrades, including one about a driver. After installation, will not restart. Arrive at the page Windows XP will then black screen and then the boot selection list. Is "glued" to the normal startup and arrows don't work for go mode without failure or any other option. He just times down, try to reboot and loop. Help!
Hello
Have updates you installed?
You can check the KB number for the update in the update history:
1. Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
2. on the Windows Update Web site or the Microsoft Update Web site, click on view update history.Step 1: Unplug the power cable, the keyboard and mouse and then reconnect it back. Now, check if you're able to boot in safe mode (by using the arrow keys) or normal mode. Send back the same.
Step 2: Alternatively, you can restore the system from the recovery console.

How do I recover from a corrupted registry that prevents Windows XP startup

System: HP Pavilion DV4-1125nr PC Notebook
Product #: FR922UAR #AB
The system board ID: 30F7
Version of the BIOS (before the update): F.12
OS: Windows 7
I tried to update the BIOS to d.55 which was provided by HP. After the successful installation the closure of new windows BIOS correctly. I restart the PC, HP Logo appears and then nothing happens. The operating system do not load or start at all.
I also tried to boot using the Windows 98 Second edition CD (to charge BACK), but it did not work.
Please help me...
Fortunately I found a Solution to this problem.
Here are the summaries (and modified according to my needs) the steps that I've taken of the following thread:
1. go to the hp site and download the correct version of your BIOS. In my case it had to F.12. Why not the latest version? Because there is no guarantee that the last one will work for you, know after measures.
2. go where you downloaded the file and using 7 - Zip (or tool of your choice of course) unzip the contents to a folder of your choice. We'll get to that later, so keep this file open.
3. use 128 MB or no matter what key-USB USB key (the smallest, you might find, because they said the smaller the better ) and reformatted to FAT or FAT32 click with the right button on the drive by clicking on "format".
4. now that my USB is ready, go back to the folder where you extracted the file to update the BIOS (always open to the right of the folder?)
"5. If you have the graphics card Intel integrated like me, copy the ' 30F7F12U. FD"of the key USB and RENAME the file '30F7F12U. FD' at '30F7. BIN ". Remember that this name calling to order "DV4-1125nr. If you have a different motherboard, the system or the BIOS, the name must be determined according to the.
The next steps are exact 0.0 as follows (the link of a full detailed discussion is provided below), I simply numbered:
6 unplug the adapter from the laptop.
7 remove the battery from the laptop.
8 insert the USB key into one of the USB ports on the laptop.
Does not seem to matter which.9. press the 'Windows' key and the 'B' key
10. connected to the power adapter.
11 press the 'Power' button on the laptop.
12. when the LED is entered, letting go of the power button / stop and the two keys down earlier.
13. After about 10 seconds the notebook started to read the USB key. While searching for the file, the laptop beeps every seconds.
The number of beeps varied, depending on what size of the key USB has been and
the number of files on the USB key, a single beep for many.
If the file was not found, the laptop will restart and try again.14. If the file is found then it took about 12 seconds for the laptop to load. No beeps sound not heard during the loading time.
15. when it is responsible for the laptop has started flashing, indicated by beeps every 2 seconds. It took about 32 seconds.
16. about 5 seconds after the ringtone had stopped off the laptop computer.
First I update my pc with the last BIOS (F.66), but did not work for me (operating system not loaded after HP Logo ). So I decided to go back to the old F.12 (the version that has been shipped when the laptop was purchased) according to the procedure described above. But the problem is where to find version F.12 as HP currently provides links only for the version of the BIOS F.66 to d.55 (in the drivers from the hp support site section)
Fortunately, I found a direct link to this version F.12 in the next thread.
F.12 version:
FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp40501-41000/sp40749.exe
This was F.12 and worked for me. Thank God Almighty I return my PC.
Thanks to all who contributed in the discussions above.
Kind regards
-gmuhammad.

If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html
It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

I can't connect in safe mode but not in normal mode?

John
If you start in Mode safe mode, uninstall KB955759 & reboot, the behavior persists?
Despite what http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955759 suggests, KB955759 isn't a critical security update. After you have uninstalled KB955759, you can use the difficulty here to achieve the same ends, if you wish: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954157 ~ Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (that is to say, mail, security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ WARNING: MS MVPs represent or work for Microsoft

Every night does not start after the update, AV recognized every night as a threat
After update, AV reported the threat. After that, every night can not start, erorr message says "cannot find Mozilla runtime".
Hello irena0072, it is most likely a false positive. Maybe your AV software has quarantined or deleted components that are necessary for firefox run. Please try to reinstall every night.

Disable the auto restart after auto update
I can't express how frustrating, it is at the foot of two hours of hits for a drink, to return to my job cancelled by an automatic restart after Windows update. This kind of thing has happened several times. And as I have a Vista Home Premium, I did not have access to group policy to turn off. So guys, how to prevent windows to lose more of my work with its seedy characteristics? Thanks in advance.

Your anti-virus software is in conflict with Windows updates. You can test this by temporarily disabling your antivirus:
Disable the antivirus software

In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/back-up-the-registryMethod 3: If the methods above do not help, I suggest you delete the edb.log file and check if that helps.
Follow these steps:
a. click the Start button, click computer.
b. now, go to this site: C:\windows\softwaredistribution\datastore\logs\edb.log
Where 'C' is the drive of operating system
c. delete the log file, and then restart the computer and check the issue. -
