I do weekly backups of my laptop (running Vista Home Premium being) by using the backup utility Windows & restoration that is installed.  I can see the last backup on the external drive, I'm using (IOMEGA 500 GB) using "Explores all", but when I try to restore using the restore function, no files are displayed in the menu "select files".  I am logged on as administrator, and the road is shared with all users.  Any ideas?

iPhone 6s more stuck in the mode of the brick after downloading ios10. Cannot restore via iTunes. error 3014

After the update to ios10, my 5s iPhone seems to work very well. I reconnected it to iTunes and then it bricked, and I panicked.

iTunes synced a couple of times, it took about an hour and a half for me. After that it stopped its cycle of synchronization, I unplugged my iPhone - it still bricked. I then did a hard reset and it worked.

Maybe I got lucky, maybe my iPhone and iTunes need a kick in their buttocks.

  • Win 7 - cannot restore some files from a successful backup

I recently bought a new laptop with Win7.

I managed to restore all my important files to a backup of my old computer which was under Vista.

When you try to restore my emails from the old vista computer, although I can see the files in the backup file real (using the tool of restoration provided by Win 7), after the execution of restoration, it is said that the restoration was successful, but the records seem to be empty and that's why I can't download my old emails to my new computer that represents a major problem for me.

I noticed that, well I can see the folder Windows Mail in the file backup using the restore backup Win 7 laaredj, the folder that corresponds to Windows Mail seems to be on a color much clearer than the other files, however, if I double click on it, I can navigate and see its contents, but nothing is restored.

Can anyone help? I would certainly appreciate any ideas, I tried to recover individual files, the entire file, one together records, tried to use different locations for the restored files but nothing seems to work. All other files in the same backup have been restored without problem.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Check if by chance the folder you are trying to restore is hidden (as you say that the folder is located in a color lighter than other folders).

    To verify the folder property

    (a) right click on the folder

    (b) select checking properties of the attributes.

Try to restore the folder on another computer and check if it is successful.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Hi dnt711,

Many users corrected this problem by correcting disk errors. We recommend you to check all the readers to find errors. To do this, try the following steps.
    1. open the computer by clicking the Start button, click computer.
    2. click on each drive to check and then click Properties.
    3. click on the Tools tab and then, under check for errors, click Find now.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will be a problem, but not to fix them.
To perform a thorough check, select search and attempt to recover bad sectors. This analysis tries to find and repair physical errors on the disk itself, and it may take much longer to complete.
To check for errors file and the physical errors, select both automatically fix errors in file system and search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
    4. click on start.
5 after the audit of records mistakes, try to restore backup and check the result.

See Check a drive for errors

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot restore backup successful - 0x8007007A Vista Home Premium error code

I use Vista Home Premium that came with my laptop. I had a nightmare with my Dell Inspiron for the last two months. I finally gave up and decided to do a clean install, after completing a successful using the Vista Backup Backup Assistant. Now, here's the problem. I reinstalled Vista, and made sure I had all the Windows updates available. Now I want to restore my data from my removable hard drive files.

I click on the Control Panel, system and maintenance, restore the backup files, Advanced Restore and select my removable hard drive (which is cool). Then, I get the following error message:

"There was an unexpected error. The data area passed to a system call is too small. (0x8007007A).

I tried to copy the backup file on my computer and going through the same process, but I get the same result.

I'm at my wits end with this, I can see all the files on my portable hard drive so I know something is there, it's just Vista backup restore will not do its job.

    Help, please!

First, disable any security software you have running on your system.

Then connect the external drive and go to start / Control Panel / Adminiistrative tools / computer Managmernet / Disk Managment and change the drive the drive letter of bacckup (I don't know why, but I saw an answer where this atually worked so it's worth a try).

If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.  More than finding the cause, I want to eliminate anything that might interfere with the process.  Try the restore in clean mode to see if the tht works.  Don't forget to return the system to normal when done regardless of the result.

There is not much on this error code and absolutely nothing of a value - only valid suggestion posted above.

Here is some general information that can help (although unrelated to this particular error)) but it may be useful to solve the problem as a whole.

Here is an article on the restore procedure:http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.

This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.  It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.

Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work):http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.

I also found the following (but don't know if it of true or not):

    1. after the start of "backup and Restore Center."

    2. I chose "Advanced Restore"

    3. I was did not an administrator password... maybe because my account is an administrator account.

4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.

    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »

    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue

    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.

    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."

    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup ("Yes... even if he said that the backup location is not available ' )

    10. and you press "next".

    11 guess what... no error!

    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.

    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.

    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)

I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.

    I hope this helps.

  • Restore backup files after the new installation of Vista

I recently had to replace my main hard drive as it has completely crashed and burned.  Fortunately, I thought, I had been diligently backing up to an external hard drive.   So after replaced by a fresh hard drive and a new installation of Vista, I thought I could just restore these files from backup... but no luck.  New Vista does not recognize the old Vista backup.  And it will allow me to migrate these files in any usable fashion.  Is it possible for me to get the new Vista installation to access these backups from the previous installation of Vista?

    Hi Allisonerik,

    (1) what happens when you try to restore?

    (2) you get an error message?

    (3) was it a file, or a backup system image?

I want to clarify if your backup media (external hard drive) is recognizing in Windows.

Method 1: Put the computer to boot and then check to see if you can restore

Follow step 1 in the link below,
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Important: n ' forget not to put the computer to a normal startup follow step 7 in the link.

Method 2: Check your external hard drive to find errors

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Note: CHKDSK would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

  • File on FTP Upload error deletes the file existing on the Web?

Hello world. I think I have a weird for you.

I'm upload an existing file on the web (by crushing) and when I do, the file stops downloading and I get the following error message:

    Start date: 15/06/2015 10:42

    Connected to (mysite).

    _folder\index.asp - transfer

    _folder\index.ASP - error is produced

Activity of the incomplete file. 1 file (s) or folder (s) have not been filled.

    Files with errors: 1

    _folder\index.asp

    Finishing: 15/06/2015 10:42

Now for the super weird part, when I downloaded the file, he DELETED the existing file. So instead of the old site, I got a 404 error. I tried this with another file with the same results. I can't find anything online about this error and I don't know what to do. Yes, I swear to you, I am in local mode by clicking on "put the files to a remote server. I've done a few zillion times.

I have closed Dreamweaver, I rebooted (twice) and I tested the site connection in the section management of the Site. All withdrew.

If anyone has encountered this before? It's kind of slow down my work day. A lot.

It is possible that your permissions on the server are goofed, sometimes during the maintenance of the server with some hosting companies.

My guess is that you probably write and delete but not crushed. It is quite easy to test.

Create a new file named test.html and download it.

If you see it online "Write" is very well.

    You can remove the server?

If the answer is "Yes", 'Delete' is fine

Download test.html, and then make a change and the re - download.

    Same error?

If so, call your hosting company and ask them to reset your permissions, make sure you have excessive write access.

I can get the files to show that the property has changed, but whenever I try to open them, the problem persists!

  • Rescue and recovery will not restore backup files it finds when starting

I recently had a system problem on my Lenovo computer and had to recreate the image. When I try to restore my backup using rescue and recovery (R & R), they prove inaccessible. How to access these backups?

Details of the options selected in R & R are attached, as an image on the screen of the settings dialog box.

Running R & R, backups (on an external HDD USB) are visible and can be selected as expected. When the computer restarts in the space of restoration work, after a warning do not turn off the power, you get the error message "the restore has failed because the backup was not found at the specified location. Accept that the computer restarts in Windows. In this case regardless of the options selected at the start of R & R.  Where appropriate I select the USB external storage device in the Setup program and select a backup of those listed.

I also tried updating all Lenovo utilities, including R & R. The option 'get new updates"errors when downloading the package information Lenovo Service Center (1 on 1) at the helm of the 30% with the error" Exception should not met!

A lot of ongoing issues.  Many Lenovo post deal with each issue. Intel, system update, create a recovery to the USB media.

For now, I'll address your problems of rescue and recovery. It seems that your system worked well, until a database had records in doubles in it, and you want to use RI to restore a backup on your USB.

Then you have attempted a return to the factory, which show a lot of questions.

If I understand your request, you want to restore your system to some time in the past, using a backup RNR. Either last week or 2 months ago. Something that works.

    ===

RNR will save all partitions on the disk C DD.  It never saves another HARD disk.  2 readers warning has been around for a while. If C and D are on the C drive, HARD drive, it will run through RNR.

Single file restore only runs on the windows RNR.  But there is no need to restart standalone RNR (pf11 during startup).

It is ok. At least the RNR version on windows can find and restore your USB /rrbackups, of 5 min or 30 hours. This works.

    ==

Factory restore installs a RNR version right here. This version probably does not match the version on your USB. If you started the RNR factory with the USB version version, you might expect not found messages.

    ===

On your system windows today, please state the version installed.  Start using pf11 and indicate the version installed.

You cannot create recovery media and rescue on the same device. Your luck if anything boots on the USB (other positions).

Essentially, the RNR standaone version must match the /rrbackups on USB.

    =

How do restore you to the factory settings? pf11 through the work of rnr or external cd/dvd?

You are the original owner of the machine?
