  • Copy some files from one user to another

    Hello!

How can I copy (not share) some files from one user to another?

The reason for this is because we rename users to other allocation model.

    Thank you!

You must share the folders you want to transfer the ownership of the new username, or one responsibility that the new user has (I guess that's an Oracle Applications EUL). The user connects to Discoverer more with their new name. They open the workbook (s) and then do a SAVE AS. Who will save the workbook with them as the new owner. You must then sign with the old name of the owner and to delete these old files (after the first backup them) once you are sure that everything works fine. Yes, it is a nasty process. What we do is we use a "dummy" username when we create/modify the workbooks. In this way the fictional user name is the owner of the workbooks. So, it does not matter if a person leaves or if you change the user naming conventions. If you have many users to create cabinets, then a dummy user name doesn't quite work. You could always submit an enhancement request to Oracle for a copy function. I hope that you will get a lot of customers to support such a request.

  • How to copy a library from one user to another account in Windows 7

In order to solve a problem in the installation of a new printer, the only solution that support Microsoft could find was to create another user account. They were certainly intended to copy all libraries to this account - My Documents is certainly there--but my images is not. Would appreciate advice on how to correct this problem. My intention is to delete the original user account that I am satisfied I will not lose anything.

Log on to an account with "Administrator" privileges  You will be able to access the files from the old account and create your new account.

It is not clear if you say that your new account doesn't have a 'My pictures' folder or if the folder my pictures in your new account is empty.

If your new account doesn't have a folder my pictures, then proceed as follows:

    1. Click the start ORB, click computer.
    2. Go to C:\Users\
    3. You should see something like the following (you will probably see all these folders):
    4. Click on my images to select
    5. Click on the Edit menu, then click on "Copy to folder".
    6. In the window "Copy items" that appears, go to C:\Users\ and select this are you the folder with your username shows in the 'File' window
    7. Click on the button 'copy '.
    8. Once the copy operation, confirm that your new account now has a folder my pictures, and that all your photos are in.  Then go back and erase the contents of the folder my pictures in your old account.

If your new account contains the folder my pictures, but this folder is empty:

    1. Click on the start ORB, then click on computer
    2. Navigate to\My Pictures C:\Users\
    3. Click anywhere in the right pane of Windows Explorer (where are the photo files/folders), and then click Edit > select all (or press CTRL + A) and edit > copy (or press CTRL + C)
    4. Navigate to\My Pictures C:\Users\
    5. Click anywhere in the right pane of Windows Explorer (the empty window), then click Edit > paste (or press CTRL + V)
    6. Once you confirm that all your images are in the folder my pictures of your new account, go back and erase the contents of the folder my pictures in your old account.
  • Share my photos from a user to another account.

I need to help, sharing photos and files. I just created my own user account on our computer and all the photos that I downloaded are in our main user account and I want to transfer them to my user account. I tried to share, but it did not work. Could someone help?

Copy all the files (like photos) you want to share between users of the system in the Public directory. That is what concerns the Public directory. When you connect to your own user account you can copy the files from the Public to your own images folder in your user directory if you wish. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • How to get information from a user on another account user account?

We have two user accounts on our computer (which is a shared computer). One, I'm going to call the 'A' and the second 'b '. I can't get on the account 'A' because it has got a virus or something, and we cannot log on to this one. But that account is the principal that we all use, we have our photos, music, documents, videos, EVERYTHING. And since it does not work, must use 'B', which is basically like a guest account. It has absolutely nothing about it. We cannot synchronize our iPods, otherwise it will just wipe and replace stuff on it with, well, nothing.

My question is, what can I (if so, how) to download our music, photos, etc., etc., on our account "B"?

Thank you for your help, but I got the stuff I needed. :) I just went to computer, local disk (c :)), users, then my account was, and he had all the photos, music, downloads and all the records!  :)

  • Help! I need to transfer my files from one user to another on your own computer. How can I do this?

Please be very descriptive.  need help now

    Hello rokr676,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Community Forum.

One of the easiest ways to transfer files is to use Windows easy transfer.

Windows Easy Transfer is installed with Vista and is found under Accessories - tools system or by searching for "easy" (with the quotes).

You can transfer files and settings using a network share, or transfer files and settings using removable media such as CD/DVD or external hard drive. Windows Easy Transfer does not migrate installed applications.

Using Windows Easy Transfer, you can migrate most of the files and the program settings. The following table describes the types of data and parameters that can be moved.

    Data type
    Specifications

Files and folders We can choose to be automatically moved all the files found in the folder My Documents, my pictures and Shared Documents. You can also add other documents located in other places. The messages and settings E-mail messages, contacts, settings, account and address books from Outlook Express, Outlook, Windows Mail and other programs. The program settings Programs that are compatible with Vista will have their settings transferred to the new computer. So that this works, the program must already be installed on the computer running Vista. User settings Desktop settings, color, screen savers, fonts settings, options Windows, printers, etc. Settings Internet Favorites, cookies, and Internet Explorer settings. Photos, videos and music The music files, playlists and album. Images (gif, jpg, bmp files) and personal videos.
    Manually transfer:
Open a session with the new user account that you may have created. To ensure that this new user account has administrator privileges.

Open Explorer > organize > folder and Search Options > view tab > check show the hidden files and folders > OK to save the settings.

Now navigate to your C:\Users\(Old Username folder) and copy all the files and folders in the folder C:\Users\(Old Username) in the C:\Users\(New Username folder).

If please reply back and let us know if this helped with your question or if you need assistance.

    Sincerely

  • transfer games from one user to another account

I created a new standard account on our computer for our son.  How to make games and programs i.e. itunes, world of warcraft, etc. for transfer from the main account of his new user account.  I created a new account for him and a lot of the transferred programs but without 'data', it's in the main account.  For example, itunes transferred to his new account, but none of its playlists transferred.  It looks like his games transferred, but when you click on the game to open it, nothing happens.
I created a new account for him we want to set up parental controls for him (for the most limiting internet time).  Our main account is password protected and he doesn't know the password, so whenever he wants to use the computer, it should go to the computer and type the password for him.  I want to be able to access its games and programs with their own account, eliminating the need to we should stop what we are doing to type a password for him.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi mtams5,

    Thanks for posting your request.

If you have created a new account for your son, you or your son will have to re - create the iTunes playlist, like the iTunes playlist will be connected with your main account.

  • Permissions do not update every time that a user moves a file from one folder to another in the Windows XP computer.

Original title: folder permissions to move or copy.

I have a problem that I'm sure has a simple explanation but I don't know.  I have a folder in the tree that whenever a user moves a file from one folder to another, the permissions do not update.  Yet if a user copies the folder to the same location, permissions to update as expected.  This only happens with XP.  If I try with Win 7, if the user moves or copies, update permissions.

Has anyone seen this or have an explanation?

  • How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive?

How can I copy files from project Waveburner to another internal drive without losing the connection to the files audio orig.?

    Thank you for your time,

Since no one answered my call, I sat and researched and studied WaveBurner behavior and I can myself answer my question and solve. Since there were a lot of people asking similar questions on WaveBurner files I will post what I learned.

Whenever you drop your audio files in the list window to make your WaveBurner CD copy not copy your audio files, but relies on the original audio file, where they are located. So whenever you move the files orig. and you open WaveBurner, it can't find those and displays an error window to suggest it will search for the missing file or if you know where he is now lets you find manually. WaveBurner usually place the .wb3 project file that contains everything including your home folder.

For this reason, I reserve now an audio file WaveBurner also folder in my home folder. In order to save themselves from WaveBurner cannot find the audio file, all audio files that I do, I put in my folder of audio files WaveBurner first, then copy them in WaveBurner from there.

When I need to use a bigger hard drive I copy .wb3-WaveBurner projects based, but also my

Sound folder WaveBurner for the home folder on the new hard drive.

WaveBurner is now all audio files without problem.

I hope that this will be a unique problem to someone else. Happy WaveBurning.

    W.W.
