Cannot run AVG scan after scan of Windows Defender.

Original title: avg free and defender

When I click on my AVG program, that he will not give me an option of computer detection and he did earlier before I did a quick scan with windows defender.

Did somehow disable the AVG when I ran defender scan?

How can I find scan option in AVG again?

And how do I know that it really works? It shows nothing be picked up in the history.

Daughter to the game... Thanks for any help.

I suspect that this update (and many others) is unable to install due to a hijackware infection.

  • Daily schedule scans for Windows Defender.

I planned my Windows Defender ACCT to do daily, a full scan, at 05:00.  However, I just got a notice that a comprehensive analysis was made for the last 5 days!  Why is this happening?  Thank you.

    Hi Harland,

As you plan the scan at 5:00 every day, the system must be switched on at the scheduled time and allow the analysis to be performed. If the system is turned OFF or the system is shut down during the analysis, we encounter this problem. However, there is a setting that can be applied to the analysis starts automatically when the system boots.

To activate this setting, try the following steps.
    1. Click Start, type taskschd.msc and press to enter.
    2. click on continue in the UAC prompt.
    3. in the right pane, click view, and click Show hidden tasks to check it out. (See screenshot below step 7)
    4. in the left pane, click the arrow on the Task Scheduler Library folder and the folder of Microsoft to develop.
    5. click on the folder of Windows Defender.
    6. in the middle pane, right-click on the MP scheduled Scan list and click Properties.
    7. click on the settings tab.
    8. check the 'run task as soon as possible after a regular departure is missed box."
NOTE: This will allow Windows Defender perform the scheduled scan the next time you have the computer if the scan is not respected because she is not able to run at the scheduled time.
    9. click on the OK button.
    10. Close Task Scheduler window.

  • Slow scan by Windows Defender

Information system: Intel Core Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66 GHz, 4 GB Ram

2 HDD to 500 GB to 1.5 (1.0 + 500 GB) to empty, 32-bit of Windows Vista untimate

    ...............................................................................................................................

Windows Defender has been scanning hard drives for more than 29 hours, verification of objects a little less of 2 mio. It is not yet ready with the scan. Is this normal?  How can I speed up the pocess?  No other CPU intense application were aired at the same time. Said passerby-supported CPU is 0 to 5% and Ram-occupation is 65%

Windows Defender adds security in combination with Zone Alarm Extreme Security, or do I stop using Defender?

    Thanks for any helpful input

Can I Defender takes MUCH too long - this is not normal in any way.  I would cancel the scan, reboot and then try again.  Try to do a HARD drive at a time and I would like to disable ZoneAlarm in the analysis to ensure that the delay is not a type of conflict between programs (maybe the other was a scan at the same time).

If the same thing happens again, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

Zone Alarm according to literature what do advocate; As he did not disable Defender during installation, however, there is no reason to disable Defender yourself.  It will provide an extra layer of protection.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot run Microsoft games after upgrading Windows 8 Pro

After you have installed Windows 8 Pro I found my old Microsoft games (Solitaire, etc.) in the Windows.old file and used successfully and Favorites to the start menu.  The next day (after several Windows updates) they would not start in the start menu or from the executable file in the Windows.old folder. Tried to restore the (only) listed restore point but received a message that it cannot restore.  Tried the troubleshooting of compatibility without success. Uninstall the updates and restarted the resolution of compatibility issues, with the same results.  Have right click on executable, open properties and set to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode and run as Administrator without success.  How can I get my games to run on this POS?

  • Cannot run some programs after system restore to remove the virus

    Hello

Toshiba my duaghter had a nasty virus that pretends to be an antivirus software product, which sneaked in, between the time his default service Norton has expired and I had the time to install Trend.

Can not remove it using trend, so on the advice of a friend, decided to make a windows system restore to a point before the infection. It worked successfully and the virus has disappeared, but now she can't run some programs, I tried to reinstall Trend, but fails because he says you must first uninstall Norton. But I can't run Norton, or uninstall, and certain folders on C: are no longer accessible.

I have to do a full restore of the Toshiba System (IE back tofactory settings? This seems a drastic measure, but the issue is beyond my meager knowledge of PC.

    Thank you

    Hey Buddy,

Hmm... This announcement is a bit confusing... Maybe the programs you want to say were installed after the system restore point, who knows?

In my opinion you must reset the laptop configuration that you have already written. This will restore the pre-installed Windows version where everything is working correctly and that all the drivers and tools are installed.

Therefore, you only need the Toshiba Recovery disk and boot from it. This will restore the factory settings.

Please I really need help, how do I get my laptop to detect the wireless network. If someone could give me a few steps to do, please.

Most laptops have a switch that turns the wifi radio on or off.  Often, it is a combination of the Fn key and one of the F keys.  It may be a physical switch somewhere on the laptop.  See your manual for details.

    If this isn't the problem...

What is the brand and model of your router?  Almost all wifi routers also have at least one Ethernet port, you can connect your computer to the router with an Ethernet cable and download the right driver for your http://www.asus.com/support wireless card
Have you tried to "Roll back driver" in the "Driver" tab of your adapter wifi 'properties' in Device Manager?  At the very least, determine which version of the driver is installed, and compare that to the current version on the asus support site.

  • Satellite A200-1 s 5 - cannot install driver LAN after installation of Windows 7

I have a laptop Toshiba A200-1 s 5, serial number: X7357433K. I just installed Windows 7 and downloaded and installed all the drivers of Toshiba laptop. I have no problem device in the system information screen.

In Device Manager, the cards I have that the "Intel (r) PRO/Wireless' network. When I install the downloaded driver for LAN (lan-20091103092515) it says "Realtek LAN Driver V7.003.0522.2009", but I can't not under network adapters - I don't know where he's going? I can't find everything Realtek device in Device Manager. Needles to say works Wireless LAN, LAN does not work.

Connectivity doctor shows Wireless Lan, Dial-up Modem and Bluetooth, but no LAN. Trying to load the driver from Realtek - does not help. -message: the device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31)
I even tried to install from Realtek and update the driver for lan-20091103092515 - same error Code 31.

    Hey Buddy,

You have an unknown device in Device Manager? This could be the missing LAN card

Also check if there are devices hidden in Device Manager. So open the Device Manager and go to view > show hidden devices.

Normally, you should now see the LAN card and then you can update the driver.

    Hi ma1210,

Given that this problem occurred after the upgrade to Windows 10 I think your best option would be to uninstall the printer driver and reinstall Windows 10 drivers for the printer. You can download Windows 10 drivers for this printer by going to HP support at www.support.hp.com site - then enter your product information IE HP Photosmart B110a... change the Windows 10 operating system, download the driver and install it. According to me, which should solve the problem. All the best...
