Cannot scan HP Photosmart C4780, Mac OSX 10.9.4
At the same time, I bought my MacBook Pro about 4 years ago and my HP Photosmart C4780. Recently I replaced my hard drive, so I now have the OS of Mac OSX version 10.9.4. I can always print to my RESUME, but I can scan is no longer. If I try to open HP scan, I get an error message. I tried to go to the--> Printers Scanners &--> scan system preferences, and everything seems to sweep but is not save to my computer. I looked at to download the driver, but it does not list my specific operating system... but lists "Mac OSX" which seems ambiguous for me (it lists specific versions up to 10.6). There is no option to download a driver, but there is an option to have a disk sent by post (paying), but I am unclear if this driver works with my version of Mac OS x.
Are you sure? Try to save it on your desktop - give it a distinctive name, so you can easily find it.

Cannot scan with Photosmart C6280 with Mac OS x Snow Leopard.
When I try to scan with my Mac, I get a scanner not found error. I am able to print. When I access the HP utility, it shows the printer in the installed column but it shows a Red House beside her and will not let me access it. The printer is connected to an Apple Airport Extreme, via an ethernet cable, and the airport is linked via a USB cable to the computer.
I guess you mean that the printer and the Mac are connected to the router with Ethernet Airport?
If you are using snow leopard and have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software using the "scrubber":
Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finishRestart your Mac
Now run a software update.
Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

Cannot scan to or from Mac to C4780
I had problems to blur or no image when scanning. I used to use an option to scan HP on my Mac. But I updated the drivers for OS X 10.9.3. I have more drive full version.
Help! You will need to scan some pictures and documents to be sent offshore.

HOP, 7760 Photosmart printer Mac OSX 10.6 - offline
I got Photosmart 7760 for quite awhile and have been using it extensively with MAC OSX 10.6 until 2 days ago. Then printing guest said that it is in offline mode. I've been online for 2 days to look for solutions... with absolutely no success. Downloaded the drivers... all unplugged and reconnected... downloaded the drivers.
I can't get the printer appears in the printer preferences... I am at a loss and really, really need this printer. There must be a solution, but my intermediate understanding of all this technology completely failed me.
Any help - will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I GOT IT -! I finally found a few previous posts and downloaded the universal drivers... worked instantly!

No support fax or scan for C6180 on Mac OSX 10.5.8
When Mac OSX 10.5.8, we discovered that the HP C6180 printer we use (wired network) only supported print. There is no driver to fax and no support of the Analyzer. The HP software asked to buy us a new printer in order to find these features.
You can imagine our willingness not to buy a new printer when we still works fine. If HP wants us to keep buying cartridges printer HP or never buy another HP printer again then it would be reasonable to expect continuous support of drivers for printers still in the field. (it's not yet all that old...)
Is there a solution or driver updated, please?

The note in the system disk refers to drivers integrated into OSX. Upward through 10.5, they only support print (10.6 print media, scanning and fax).
Try to uninstall using uninstaller in Applications, Hewlett-Packard folder, and then reinstall it from the link I gave you.
If all else fails you could spend $29 and upgrade to Snow Leopard and get back disk space as well!

Mac pro hangs at startup after update to El Capitan

HP Envy 110 - cannot scan from printer (using Mac Maverick)
I have a MAC with OSX 10.9.4 operating system and a printer HP Envy 110 with the newest driver printer HP Maverick. I can scan Mac. However, I can not run a scan directly from the printer control panel. The sign says "make sure that the HP printing software is installed. For MAC and USB connections, "Enable Scan to Computer" is automatically activated". Everyone else has had a similar problem?

Thank you for your answer! Please, try the following solutions:
- Reset the printing system. OS X Mavericks: reset the printing system.
- Verify and repair disk permissions. 12.x disk utility: repair disk permissions.
- Look at this post, Re: iMac OS X 10.9.3 scan driver for HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a A910a to iMac doesn't seem to be, by my colleague @Sunshyn2005.

Laser Jet Pro 200 Color MFP: cannot scan from 10.8.5 OSX system preferences
Have recourse to the scanner via the preferences system for 2 years. This was recommended to me at Office Depot when I bought the machine.
Now I have 'the scannner impossible to complete the scan.
Copy works by function (from the machine), so scanning / copy glass is OK. Printing from the computer works as well
(connected by USB).
Earlier today, before installing the printer v3.1 for OSX driver, I got the message "error com.apple.imagecapturecore 9930.
I have reset the system twice.
Am currently with all updates.
Still does not scan.
Any thoughts?

HP ENVY 5660: HP ENVY 5660 scan multiple Pages with Mac OSX?
Hi-how to scan multiple pages using the HP ENVY 5660 with Mac OS x 10.8? I have updated the software of the scanner, clicked on "open scanner" in the printer, but see no way to scan multiple pages. Also, there is no way to add several pages on the touch screen of the printer.
I really need to send you something to a potential employer ASAP so would be extremely grateful for any advice.

Don't forget to select PDF as the source file.
Click Scan to scan the first page, once completed, click the same button to add another page and continue to use the scan button until you are finished.
The final PDF should include any page scanned in the same session.

Since the installation of Lion, I can no longer connect wirelessly with Macbook Pro my wife. We have AT & T U-Verse with their 2Wire Modem/Acess Point. I deleted the drivers and installed via software update. I can connect USB and the only instructions I see HP for the addition of a wireless option is to add a Hello type for your printer? I don't see this option. I saw something on an SSID is perhaps too long. I'm not sure that I can change it on AT & T device. I ran the test wireless to the printer and all past. I also checked to make sure that the mac is on the same network, and it was.
After the reboot the 2wire driver Hello appears now and I added it and it works now. Thanks for your help on this

Reading full drive and cannot see the files! Mac OSX 10.4.11 to 10.6.8 - 32 GB Cruzer USB Glide
I just bought the Sandisc Cruzer Glide 32 GB flash drive to move photos from one MAC to another.
-J' have plugged my MAC running 10.4.11 and slipped the records on that I wanted to move. I have not install or use the software Sandisc because it was compatible with 10.5
-J' I plgged the disc in my MAC running 10.6.8 and flies files
-J' then slipped the files on the USB in my dustbin of Macs, it looked as if they were out of it
-J' then plugged the USB in my old MAC and the player complete bed
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance for answer. Most of the responsed that I found on the forum are related to Wndows machines
On Mac if you do not empty the trash before the USB is disconnected, it will not actually free up space. can solve the problem 2 ways.
1. If the files are still in the trash, connect the USB drive and empty the trash. This should free up space
2. connect the USB drive and use disk utility to erase the drive. Make sure that you use the type of file MSDOS or exFAT for the filesystem for maximum compatibility.

When printing, a few lines of text, from the left to the right of the page, only display the top part of the letters. Other lines are fine. Printer status report shows same problem, but otherwise ok.
Yes, you can try to clean the print head. This is one of the best ways to solve print quality problems.

Dear Gordon thank you very much for the reply. You just confirmed my own conclusion that my machine is broken. It lasted 6 years and it could be another 6 If the lighting is not it. I don't mind on the cost of buying a replacement, which is not high after all, but it's sad to not be able to just fix the broken printer and make it feasible again... In addition I will lose the recently bought inks (which encrypted under the all-in-one machine to a single entry). However I will continue to use for photocopying and printing using an SD card that finished inks and then buy another machine... The analysis will be a problem, but I'm going to use my camera to capture what I have in electronic form
