  Always add your Windows operating system during the validation of the questions.

  Start > Control Panel

  Open Printers and Faxes folder

  Right-click on the printer icon, then select open

  Are there jobs in the print queue?

  If Yes, click on file and select Cancel all Documents

  Close the queue

  Start > type services.msc

  Press enter

  Scroll down to print spooler

  Right-click on the spooler and select stop

  Wait for Windows to stop the spooler

  Start > right click on computer

  Select manage

  Click on continue for UAC window (VIsta, 7)

  Select Device Manager

  Click on the + sign next to the IEEE... compatible printers

  Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

  Click on the + sign next to printers

  Right-click on the driver and select uninstall

  Click on the + sign next to Bus USB controllers

  Right-click on the printer driver and select uninstall

  Close the Device Manager

  Make sure that the printer is turned off

  Disconnect the printer from the computer

  Unplug the printer from the wall outlet cable

  Leave unplugged for about 5 minutes

  Reconnect the cables to the

  Restart the computer

  Windows will reload the drivers

  Back to services.msc and right-click on print spooler

  Select restart

  Wait for Windows to restart the spooler

  Local services

  New attempt to print pdf

  Go to HP.com and locate the drivers available for your printer model

  If the above fails, try printing HP and the Scan Doctor located here

  3. what web browser do you use to download adobe?
  4. what happens when you try to open pdf files?
  5. you are trying to open online pdf files or pdf files on the computer?

  Thank you John. The problem has been resolved. I'm sure this has to do with changes of microsoft with one of their updates since I subscribe to Office 365.   My computer is running Vista and I had this problem for the last 2 years! I can only receive the PDF sent by one of the companies I work for. I can't open most PDF files sent by attachment or all the files on Web sites. I have Adobe 9 and Foxit Reader and it does not work with either. I tried to re - install Adobe and still no luck. With Foxit Reader that I can manage to open the PDF files sent from the company I mentioned earlier, but that's all. I would really appreciate some help... Thank you very much! :) x

  Try this: uninstall all the software that you have to display the PDF documents. Then try to open a PDF file. You should receive a message that "Windows cannot open this file". If you get the message that the file is "corrupt" or "not supported" means that you have another program or display of PDF files.
  Once you receive a message that "Windows cannot open this file" download and install the latest version of Adobe Reader (9.3).

  2. did you try to save the PDF file on the hard drive and then try to print from there?

  I check and repair the authorization to drive on the Mac.
  Go on the hard drive of the Mac, applications, utilities, disk utility, click Mac hardrive left side, click on verify disk permissions, when it is finished click on repair disk permissions.
  (when it's over will show disk repair completed)

  Run the Apple updates also. (the Mac uses probably drivers 10.8)

  Make sure Acrobat is up-to-date.

  Obviously, you cannot run your life by saving just to open attachments...   Please right click on the PDF icon > select 'Préférences' > tab general, click "Change" and select "Adobe Acrobat".

  If this does not work, you can try typing "Edit the file associated with a file extension type" in the search box or visit Panel > all items in the control panel > default Associations of Programs\Set. Select ".pdf" in the list and click 'Change Program' at the top right and select "Adobe Acrobat".
