Cannot see the whole picture when you move into a smaller template with the direct Selection tool

Hello!

I recently got my laptop cleaned in preparation for examinations and such (I'm in high school). As I belong to art class, when Basic programs have been re-installed we also got the Adobe programs, but we got the CC 2015 version instead of the version CS5, we had earlier. After a stressful week, I finally had time to sit and work on my projects aside, but I quickly found a big problem which stops at my work. After re size the image at the size I want, I don't see the whole picture when I move in the smallest area with the direct Selection tool more. Photos I use are generally quite large, that I've tried to work with now are 451mmx338mm after the scaling down and I have a 'framework of standard departure' to 60mmx15mm (I make the bosses), so now I have basically has to guess my way toward a good composition...

Can I make it work again?

Click on the image and hold the pointer of the mouse for a while. And then drag.

  • Selection tool automatically switching to the direct Selection tool, grabbing a picture box

Seems that when I'm grabbing an image placed in Indesign CS5, it automatically switches to the direct Selection tool and grabbing the image instead of its container. I'm doing something wrong? I have to do it several times before I can enter the container and the image, instead of just the image.

Any tips? I've only noticed this in CS5.

I fear she is only in the later version.

You can update. The latest version is 19.2 (who has some problems (GPU), so you can consider 19.1.1 also.

  • Text and the direct Selection tool?

When I place a space for the text or graphic, the box has an external box around it. The space between the two sets of text blocks lines. I have to use the direct Selection tool to capture the corners and close the gap.

I have a set of adjustment that I can't find out. I would not have this second line in the boxes. Y at - it of some sort that I can disable that?

This is an indication of the film text limit. You have a default text wrapping. To turn on it took off for new arrivals make sure nothing is selected and open the text layout Panel and do not select the icon of film no. Do the same thing without papers open to make sure have not set it as a global default value for the application.

  • Why can I not select an object using the direct Selection tool?

PHOTOSHOP: I have an ellipse I have rasterized. Why can I not use the direct selection on it?

The direct Selection tool is designed for use of vector path.

If you want to use the tool, you can get your selection by going to the Panel traced and clicking the work path make the symbol at the bottom of the Panel, a path

Then, if you choose, you can click the load path as a selection symbol to return to the moving dotted line (rasterized).

  • Selection tool it's the direct Selection tool...

OK, I've been through all the preferences and have no idea of what I changed. My selection tool is no longer shows bounding boxes and acts as the direct Selection tool by only "emphasizing" the realization of selection almost impossible resizing. I need to restore it. Please HELP thanks.

You have turned off inadvertenty bounding boxes. Reactivate them.

  • the direct selection tool - how not to move the shape/path?

This thing drives me to work my anti-stress ball: when I touch a path with the white arrow, I'm always first in a mode where the path may be moved. But I want to move a blink of an eye or the handle - is there a place where I can put this tool to do not move or or to select never all the way? I have the normal selection for that tool! I think I watch something. Thank you!

    orangestuff,

You can edit > Preferences > General and then uncheck the box use area select, but it means that you need to knock or drag on the path when you use the normal selection tool.

And it's always good to be able to make a success and train your finger to spring.
