  In Pages impossible to select text, so I can't copy. I tried to select text using a different text editor and it worked very well, but not in Pages more.

  Hi MChampa-

  You don't need to add anything to the toolbar as it exists already. Make sure your program window is wide enough to see the tools. You have the Pan tool and the text tool on the toolbar of controls on the Page, shown here as a floating toolbar.

  

  You must move your cursor to the bottom of the document window in order to see the controls on the Page if they are floating. If you prefer, you can anchor the with the toolbars at the top of the page by clicking on the icon to the right indicating the arrow upward. The two icons on the left are the ones you describe, I believe.

• Design mode - cannot select text, only the Divs

  I'm in CS4 and there are two things happening when you try to change in design view. The first is that I can't select text content. Clicking to select such content, for example a line of text or a Word, selects and highlights the container div any and all content to the breast in a big piece. Why is DW not let me choose the actual content? It's the first time I met enver this problem.

  It is the same for all ontainers div on the page. But a related problem may have to do with this content area. In design mode, there is a fixed height, so not only can I not select content, but I do not see everything. It of OK in the browser, develops as it should. I have looked at all the properties of any place and don't see any height attribute anywhere, particularly those that define this content area.

  A you ask - this content area is warpped in a 'main content' div, with a class applied. But this div has no corresponding entry or properties in the style sheet. I can see where a div can be used has no specific properies of its own, but it's OK, not at all mentioned in the style sheet? And this can affect what happens in Design view editing?

  So, I guess that the question is what governs this inability to change in Design view?  Thank you in advance!

  I do not know what causes this exactly, but I downloaded your page and it ran into my DWCS4. Until I double click on the content of the div, it does the same thing. Allowed me to select without problem from there.

  used to identify the elements for many purposes, not just css. There is no problem with giving an element an id simply for organization purposes, although usually they are used as targets for javascripts, css, or php script ends.

• 10.11.4 - cannot select words of keyboard more

  Since update 10.11.4 yesterday, I can't select more words from keyboard:

  ALT + SHIFT + left/right arrow

  Before the update that this shortcut could allowed me to quickly select words by keyboard only.

  single: ALT + SHIFT + up arrow / down paragraphs selection work.

  and ALT + left arrow / right to jump with the cursor between words.

  Anyone else who has this problem?

  I'm having the same problem as well since the 10.11.4 upgrade. I've yet to find a solution for this, and the question is very irritating.

• Layout CSS based - cannot select text to change

  We recently conducted an upgrade to our site. The complete layout is basic css. The problem we encountered is that Contribute users can select is no longer content with the mouse. In fact, the only way to change the content is to use the arrow keys on the keyboard. Although it is possible to change the content in this way it is very tedious and confusing to most of our users.
  
  I tired to change pages based on a template, and not based on a template pages and get the same question.
  What can I do to fix this?

  I finally understood the question. Thank you Chris5337, you me engaged in the correct path. It turns out that there was a problem with padding. The padded div is 'covered' If you want all the other div which held the text. Once I got rid of the padding I could select any text I wanted.

• Cannot select text in the drop-down menu after you have installed Indesign CC2015.

  I cleared the cache of police, I have re-installed the whole program and I checked the other apps for similar problems, there are none. Not really sure where to go from here.

  As a work around, I am able to scroll through the list and make your choice with the keys on my keyboard. Not really ideal if!

  No, if it works in another account we need not the test Mode without failure.

  Make sure InDesign is closed, then:

  See replace your preferences for the paths to the TWO hidden folders where the prefs are located and rename or delete them in the original user account. A copy of these two entire folders, not only the content from the account that works and stick to the appropriate locations in the account which is not.

• Cannot select text and scroll down on any web page.

  The problem is that in Firefox, other applications work fine. I've tried reseting my computer and reset Firefox start Firefox in safe mode with disabled modules. None of these things has solved the problem. Help would be appreciated.

  -The issue is not specific to Firefox, but any window full-screen (now I feel stupid for asking this question).

  The problem occurs because the scrolling down is only triggered by the pointer is what past beyond the highlight box. The problem persists as long as the windows are full-screen; scrolling should occur when the pointer of the hit the lower edge of the screen, but does not work. If the window is made smaller the pointer may move beyond its edge and allows to scroll down while highlighting. This isn't a real solution, but there is a patch available in the forum section linked above (see comment #8).

• Customizations of text entry cursor prevent text selection

  I use construction plus late 4.4 available on a compact Z1, (even if it's the same on 4.3).

  I note that Sony has added a customization where a magnifying glass appears when you move a text cursor. The problem with this implementation is that magnifying glass to prevent you from being able to select text in situations where this would be possible on stock Android!

  Just found out that you can select in place by double-clicking rather than organize, so I guess that it is a partial solution. Consistency with the AOSPS would be better however.

  The xml tags are not converted to "" but "\uFEFF" (zero-width space non-bec), it is the character used to represent the tags in a text frame. Looks like the apple script converts a hexadecimal representation unicode values.

  Thanks for the reply, Gerry.  I'm no stranger to computer, having started in 1962 in the Navy for 20 years.  The HD is fine.  I used the Hitachi software testing to verify this.  RAM is also fine after running MEMTest for about 17 hours.  CHKDSK shows up at all no error.

  I agree it could be caused by a hardware fault and looking for that I ran some tension and trials of O-scope on the motherboard.  The only discrepancy I found was Aida64 Pro told me that the 3.3V rail was only 1.75 v.  My DS was told that the rail was 3.327.  This led to the conclusion that maybe the sensor was messed up.  I have an almost identical computer with a motherboard in the same series and Aida reports that rail even as 3.319v.  So, I think that the motherboard may be offset slightly.

  The re - install is an easier way to remove a large number of applications I just didn't need more and had not touched in over a year.  Revo even would have struggled to clear the registry after such massive uninstall.

  I found that the results from a command prompt is quite easy if you issue the command once, read the results on the screen, and then do it again but to redirect the output to a text file ("' do_whatever > test_output.txt '").  All you have to do is cop0y and paste a post.

  This re - install and the subsequent installation of SP2, seems to have solved the error of the event: for now.
