Cannot set a home page

I just installed Dreamweaver CS4 and I'm learning how to use the program. Unfortunately, the book I have is for CS3. According to the instructions that I have, after you create an index.html file, I should be able to right click on the file, and then select set as homepage. When I right click on the file, I don't get this option. I tried the scrapping everything and start again from the beginning, but nothing changes. I'm doing something wrong or is there another way to set the home page? Here is a screenshot of what I see when I right click on the file.

It is not in CS4. The definition of a homepage feature was on the Site map and I guess that no one used, Site map view was not in CS4. So, ignore that exercise on the definition of a home page.

Regarding browsers find your homepage on your website, all you need to do is name your homepage index.html or index.htm or index.php... in any case the server will search the index file when a request arrives for www.yourwebsite.com.

This could happen if Firefox thinks that it "crashed" on the stop before, but which should be rare. When it happens every time, it may indicate the presence of additional settings files.

The most common problem file is user.js, an option file that does not exist when you set up begin with Firefox. If this file is present, Firefox will use it to override the settings from your previous session. To track down and delete the file, refer to this article: How to fix preferences that will not save.

Note: by default, Windows will hide the extension .js on the user.js file. To force Windows to show file extensions in order to work with files in more detail, see this article from Microsoft: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hide-file-name-extensions

  • Cannot change the home pages

I scanned for malware, reset Firefox, search and uninstalled all toolbars and unknown extensions, uninstalled Firefox for all users on this computer, deleted all the profile folders for all users on this computer and re-installed Firefox after each of these changes. Firefox retains settings and works fine until the computer is restarted. Then, Firefox comes back to home pages that have been set up several months ago. I tried this with different versions of Firefox for a few months to see if it makes a difference. This isn't.

Use you the Advanced SystemCare or any other software security/utility with a protection function of the parameters? These can be called surf Protection, Protection of the browser, the Home Page Protection, etc. You may need to turn those off in order to save changes to settings.

  • Link to the user to set default Home Page

I have a question. Is there a way to set the default homepage of the user in the portal through a link on a portal page? The reason is that I'm working on a construction site where users will want to go to specific pages by default but we don't want to teach people about the features of the portal. In our case, were eager to ensure that users do not need to go anywhere, but to what is displayed on the pages to do any task, they will have to do. Any suggestions?

    David,

a similar question has already been answered in this forum, that is to say: How to configure the user profile home page using the portal API?

The idea is to create a code that calls the procedure .set_value_as_varchar2_by_id of wwpre_api_value, because the default home page (whether for a user or group) is managed as a preference.
If the code is built as a procedure, then you can just add a link that calls the procedure (custom article or another method). It will be more convenient for the user to implement an Ajax call to avoid a re-display full page.
In this case, you must add a small piece of code in Javascript, in a model for example.

    Please see screenshot

    Someone please help

    Welcome to our community, apollo321

What offered Colum is certainly valid. However, based on your screenshot it seems you are maybe by clicking on the home and be puzzled as to why the home page cannot be displayed. If this is the case, you must configure the point home to display the desired page.

In RoboHelp 6 accomplish you it as follows:
    Expand the Windows username folder
Double-click the CHM window and you should see the properties of the window
Click on the Advanced... button properties
Fill in the field titled "Home".
    Recompile the project

Note that you can really put anything on the ground. You can insert a web address like http://www.google.com , or you can point to a topic in your help system. If you want this area to open your default topic, you must type the path and the name of the default theme.

    Hope this helps... Rick

This module is very simple: when installing, it backs up

affects the search bar, search bar URL, and the home page.

  • How to set the home page as a tab, that tab is always visible?

I want to be able to have the homepage as a visible tab that when I visit other sites that I can leave these sites open while I jump to the home page, without having to leave the site when I get home. This gives greater flexibility when they surf on the web and select the tab function be used to its full potential.

One possibility would be to pin the tab with the home page via the context menu of this tab, so it appears as the first tab and make sure that you open links in a new tab.

You can use Ctrl + 1 to go to the first tab and use the context menu to close all other tabs if you want to open the tab of the home page and get rid of other tabs.
