Cannot share a folder

I'm trying to share files between the system and the system B.  The two systems appear on the other. and the system can access files on system B.  However, System B cannot access anything on the system.  When I go into advanced features of sharing on system A, I see that network discovery and file sharing are turned off.  When I try to activate the window closes, but when I open it again, the settings are disabled again.  A data sharing folder does not exist on system A, but it does on system B.

I read a few other posts about services being turned off, or the firewall to not file sharing, but this isn't the case.  SSDP Discovery, device host UPnP, function Discovery Provider Host, Function Discovery Resource Publication, TCP/IP NetBIOS and DNS Client service are started.  I also disabled the firewall on both systems to make sure that wasn't the question.

The two systems are Windows 7 SP1 and are connected by a switch.

All advice is appreciated.  Thank you.

Take a look at page 2 of this topic page 3 of BleepingComputer (read the whole topic)

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/466377/cant-turn-on-file-sharing-or-network-discovery/page-2

In particular this suggestion:

Go to windows firewall > avancΘs

Click inbound rules, on the right, click on NEW RULE

Select PRESET

Now, select file and printer sharing and select NEXT

Do the same for the network discovery

Do not forget that you have cancelled some things 'normal' like the Windows firewall if you set everything to the way it was... that's the way it should be.

  • Share a folder with the DC related to a user.

    Hello.

We have added windows server 2012 for use as a domain controller in order to launch a new piece of software.

    So new, so confused.

I have a user who shares a folder on his computer at certain times during the month.

When it is connected to the domain, it cannot share it. She is a member of users.

When I use my login to his workstation to log the area, I can share the folder. I expect as well because I am a member of administrators.

How can I give permission for the user to share the folder in question on his machine without giving its full administrative privileges?

Any help would be so appreciated and thank you in advance!

  • cannot share files from my Vista computer

I have a home network with 4 PC on it. My main PC is a Vista desktop computer, it is connected to my router. The other PC is connected wirelessly. I have a laptop with windows 7. and 2 other desktops with xp installed.  My problem is the following... I have no problem to share files and folders off my public folder on my Vista machine with the rest of the network, but for some reason, I can't share files or folders on my home network on any other place on the Vista PC.  I have an extra hard drive 500 gig installed on my Vista PC I want to use it as a central backup for all of my network drive... but for some reason that I cannot share any files or folders on this drive. I have no problem sharing the drive with other users on this pc... but I can't do it shared on the network. I tried all the conventional techniques of sharing, but no luck. I just get a message that the network resource is not available. It appears on my network under the PC, but it is not accessible. Initially, I wanted to share the entire disc... but advised him to be just a folder in the drive to share rather than trying to share the root of the drive... but still no luck.   What Miss me?

Note: this is a problem with all of my machines in network... not a single one of them can access this drive.

  • Error message: cannot create the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Marlon\Local Application BVRP Software\NetWaiting\MoHlog.txt Settings\

I recently had a problem with the virus 'Restore Windows'. I was able to get rid of it with Malwarebytes antivirus scanner, but when I turn on my computer I get this error message.
Cannot create the folder C:\Documents and Settings\ of Settings\Marlon\Local Application BVRP Software\NetWaiting\MoHlog.txt

I'm no expert, but I feel that my C drive disappeared, or at least has been hidden. My documents, pictures and music files are all empty. My programs (start > all programs) have been removed and deleted the shortcuts on the desktop. When I go to my computer, my personal and shared document files are not accessible. Under the description it says that they are hidden. My local disk (c) is also empty, but there is still very little space which suggests that programs and files have not been deleted.
Is it possible to recover my files?
    Thank you

    Hello

MoHlog.txt file is related to the software of modem on the computer, you can uninstall and reinsta it check if it works.

Also scan your computer for any infection by virus still present on the computer using any scanner online.

You can also try the system restore to the point before that the computer has been infected by the virus and check if it helps.

    Good luck!

  • cannot delete the folder I am one user have access to all the files and folders can remove any but one could take ownership of disk backup file

Cannot delete the folder, I can move it, is presantly on my desk, I'm only user I have access to all the files and folders can remove everything, but this one, took possession of the file. file is made backup disk before I reloaded vista Explorer cause did not work right

Try to open an administrator command prompt. Then cd to the desktop. Finally, run 'attrib-h - r s' and also ' attrib s h - r/s -*.» * ». Then right-click on the folder and check the button unblock. Similarly, with all the files in the folder, pledge. Never underestimate your own stupidity.

    go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\BFE

    c) on the right, click it, click permissions

    (d) click on ADD and type everyone and click ok

    (f) below, you have permissions for users, select full control and click ok

g keys) press Windows + R to open Run Search

    (h) type services.msc , and then click ok

    (i) double-click base filtering engine service.

    (k) the procedure for the windows firewall service

    (l) click on apply and Ok.

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information:

  • Share a folder for the backup of the server

I have a Dell Windows 2008 R2 server. Everything works great and we have only 1 program that we share within the office. Initially, the software company set up a batch file using robocopy to back up files on a removable drive. The drive is now small to fit the backup.

I have a computer on the network that has an external 1 TB drive connected to it for work that is stored specifically for this computer.
Is there an easy way, can I share a folder on the external drive of this computer and redirect the command of this hard drive backup file?
    Any help appreciated
    Thank you

You didn't say what o/s runs on the PC with the drive (or if it's in an AD environment), but the principle must be the same. If you right click the folder and select sharing, you should have a section there for safety. Go into that and give "Everyone" permissions Total.

    I hope this helps.
