  • Nothing will launch, cannot shut down the computer

Hello. I'm on a MacBook Pro OSX 10.9.5 with Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz and 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 running. I downloaded an application called BitTorrent a long time ago and I've forgotten why or even what he does, so I have not used in more than a year, but she came back to my dock yesterday and I could not close, even with force quit. I tried terminal "KillAll Dock" and he killed all of them except that. I looked for BitTorrent in the activity monitor, but it wasn't there. I tried a disconnect, but then the problems started. He just would not close the session, no matter how long I waited, so I went to turn off the computer with the power button, but it gave me a message saying that the computer was already a disconnection with no option other than to accept. Now, whenever I try to open any application, and I mean all applications (Terminal, Safari, system preferences, etc.), it seems to open just for a second, because I see it highlighted in the dock, and then it closes immediately. The only thing still technically "open" is BitTorrent, which is completely insensitive to anything. I tried again the opening and closing of the laptop and I connect but in the same situation. Help, please!

You can force the resignation apps  > Force quit

You can force a stop down in now the power button for a while, say about 10 sec or so.

Menu start no longer displays options to shut down the computer, someone knows how to change that?   The power options menu did not help.

When this happened to me, it was malware that didn't stop my computer, probably because she wanted to do something with it. I held the power button down until the computer is turned off manually, then I rebooted in safe mode - I run Vista - and ran some virus and malware programs until I found the beast and it crashed. You can also run a scan MS online at onecare.live.com, which was updated earlier this week. Moreover, I had not any data loss or permanent damage.

  • Is it possible to shut down the computer after the call to a draw on Chess Titans?

Is it possible to shut down the computer after the call to a draw on Chess Titans? It does this to me almost everytime I have the King stuck, but when my King is stuck, I lose each time. WTH?

original title: circulation of Chess Titans

If its your turn and you can make any legal move either with any piece, but your King is not in check, it is then deadlock. Deadlock is considered a match draw in standard chess rules. For examples, see:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalemate .

If your King is in check and you can immediately do a legal process to get out then check it's checkmate. For the person who the King is in check, this counts as a loss. For examples, see:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checkmate .

In the two scenarios above, can even vice versa (it may apply to your opponent too).

If the above explains what you see in Chess Titans then the program is correctly following standard rules and it is not a bug in the program. If she does not explain what you see then please explain more precisely the scenario.

  • stop ID10T users of abandonment downloads by shutting down the computer or put it to sleep

    Key issue:
Short of locking all users of the computer, is it possible to use my admin account to stop temporarily to other users of the computer is shut down, put to sleep or into hibernation mode? At least until that I get home from work?

    Explanation:

Normally, all users should be able to put the computer into standby or turn off the console. I want that way normally. However, I share the computer with other people in the House and must work full time, leave the computer unattended during the day.

For the last three days, I tried to download a LARGE file from a slow server an approximate time of 6 hours. Oh, to add insult to injury I can't the server let me resume a download. To allow the user to get on the computer while I'm at work and by downloading the file, I used Fast User Switching (name of the XP, in case it's called something different to 7) to put the computer on the Welcome screen, while my regular account download.

For the past two days, despite myself, leaving a note saying: 'Do NOT stop the computer or put it to sleep', when I got home from work, the computer was off, and the download was incomplete. I got an explanation "you were always telling me to stop when I'm done, I did not forget at this time." Then today I started downloading two hours ago and was only asked "could I please verify my email address?", so I donnГ the computer. When she was done, she put the computer to sleep, which was just as bad as l ' turn off as much as to cancel the download.

Short of locking all users of the computer, is it possible to use my admin account to stop temporarily to other users of the computer is shut down, put to sleep or into hibernation mode? At least until that I get home from work?

  • Error loading operating system after shutting down the computer because of the high operating temperature

I decided to re - install Windows XP Pro x 86 on my wife's computer. So I went into the BIOS to make sure that the CD/DVD drive has been configured to start first, and then I inserted the DVD and then restarted the computer.

Now, the XP disc started normally. I installed XP to the point where I deleted all previous partitions and then created a new. Windows then displays the warning that the computer would not be able to boot up to what XP finished installing. I guess that's because start-up files have been deleted when I deleted all previous partitions during the installation.

Right after I clicked on enter the warning message, the computer shuts down. No! So, I try to re-boot, in the hope of all simply continue with installing XP, but instead, the computer will display a message indicating that the computer has been stopped because of the high operating temperature. I then go ahead and get a message saying: "Error loading operating system."

No matter what I do, I can't go any further. I can't get into BIOS or anything. If I try the F10 key (or whatever the keys are), I get a beep. It does not properly respond to my entries.

I don't think that the high temperature operation destroyed all components. The computer stopped several times in the past. Furthermore, it would not be part of integrated security if Microsoft enabled the computer reach a destructive temperature before stopping. I think that the problem occurred during installation was interrupted just after that previous partitions have been deleted.

BT, I don't know what to do now. Loooking for suggestions.
