Cannot sync my movie rented to my Ipod Nano

I rented a movie on my Mac today, but it cannot sync with my Ipod Nano. It says I have to connect to the internet, but I know I can't do it on an Ipod Nano. Someone please help!

Here is the info on iTunes Store movie rentals

About rent movies on the iTunes Store - Apple Support

If a movie is in HD (high definition), you can play it on an iPod nano, because the resolution is too high for the screen of the nano.  For a movie purchase, if you pay for the HD version, you can also download the SD (standard definition) version free of charge.  But for a rental, I don't think you can do this...  Rent you as HD or SD, because download you only once.

Also, the linked document says this... "Watching movies on the following devices...".  An iPod classic or iPod nano (3rd, 4th, or 5th generation). "6th generation iPod nano can not play videos, but can't 7th gen.  However, it is not mentioned in that sentence, then you if your iPod nano is the 7th generation, you may not be able to watch rented movies about it, even if you have hired the SD version.

  • Cannot transfer music from iTunes to the iPod nano.

I can't transfer music from iTunes to my iPod. My laptop has Windows XP and my iPod nano is 6 years old. (I do not know what generation it is). the instructions say to click on "sources" to choose the IPod, but I can't find this option in iTunes.

The latest version of iTunes can be different, so former instructions can be confusing.

There are several ways to load songs on an iPod, including the auto sync and manual loading.  I will describe the method that automatically synchronizes the iPod to a playlist in your iTunes library.  First, you must create a new playlist in your iTunes library and add all the songs you want on the iPod playlist.  You can call iPod songs playlists (or whatever you want).  If you already have a "Favorites" playlist, you can use it.

Then, select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to show its settings screen in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings. Click on music.  Right, parameters of music on the iPod screen.

NOTE: All the songs on the iPod that are not on your iTunes library (on the computer) will be lost.

At the top, check the box to Sync music.  This enables automatic synchronization.  Below, choose the option to synchronize playlists selected, artists, album and genres.  Below, under playlists, search for and select (checkmark) playlists iPod songs you create earlier.  You can select the other items in these lists, if you wish.  When you click apply, iTunes syncs your selection to iPod.

Go ahead, update of the songs on the iPod, update iPod songs playlist in your iTunes (add/remove songs).  The iPod has no need to be connected.  The next time that you connect the iPod (or click sync , if already connected), iTunes automatically updated the iPod with the same changes.  I use this method with my iPod nano, unless I have several playlists (not one) that I sync with my iPod.

  • How to sync iTunes movies on an iPod Nano 7th Gen?

    Hi, I'm Sam.

I have an iPod Nano 7th Gen (software: version 1.1.1)

I have iTunes (software: worm 12.3.2) on a HP Pavilion 15 laptop with Windows 10.

I can sync my iTunes library of songs (imported CDs and downloaded iTunes) on my iPod.

    BUT

I can't synchronize iTunes downloaded movies on my iPod.

To try to get movies to sync my iPod I have:

-In the main movie section of my iTunes (not in iPod movies or sections of the iTunes Store), I clicked on a movie and the quality of the video: on the downloaded movies, there are only two options (by default (HD 1080 p) and high definition (720 p)) while others bought but not downloaded movies are the first two options as well as two more [Standard (SD) and high definition (1080 p)].

When I try to sync a movie downloaded to my iPod with one of the first two options of quality Video (by default (HD 1080 p) and high definition (720 p)) I get this message:

'FILM' was not copied because video high quality SD is not compatible with the iPod "MY IPOD".

-In preferences, store preferences. I checked the box that says 'download high-quality SD video '. Before deleting all of my library and the re - movies download.

When you try to synchronize any re-downloaded movies, with video quality settings, I get the same message as shown above.

-The only other thing I tried (which others have suggested) is to select the movie, and then click file - create a new Version - create iPod or iPhone version. Select the movie by clicking on it, then the steps or by clicking it and then pressing Alt and then following the steps.

However when I tried to do I can not click "create iPod or iPhone version" because it is grayed out and cannot be clicked.

If anyone has other ideas/improvements on ideas on how to get movies from iTunes on an iPod nano GEN 7 please let me know.

If this can help all the movies I've tried are Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, Forrest Gump and Top Gun.

You cannot use the "Create iPod or iPhone version" command if the movie (or TV show or music video) is a purchase on iTunes Store, because the video has DRM (copy protection), as required by the content producers.  That is why the command is grayed out.

Try going to the screen purchased in iTunes (click bought along the right side of the main screen of iTunes Store).  On the screen that is purchased for films, in the lower right corner of the window, there is a check box for Download HD when available.  Uncheck the box and find movies.  If there is a cloud for movies to download, download it.  When only the HD version is currently stored on your computer, you should get the SD version.

iTunes might as well of both HD and SD of a movie bought in his library at the same time.  They are not presented separately, but he will say 'HD - SD"next to the name of the movie in the library list, if it has both.  Most of the SD movies should load and play on an iPod nano.

Well, I sort of accidentally "erased and synced" all the music from my iPod nano.  I've lost countless songs and albums.  Is it possible to recover or restore lost music files?  Please tell me that I have not just stupidly everything lost!  Thank you and be well!

I guess that synchronize you the songs (for the iPod) from different iTunes library, so they are not in your current iTunes library.  If so, there is no way to get your songs using iTunes.

You may be able to use an application of general data recovery and deal with the iPod as a USB external drive.  These applications are used when people accidentally erasing a hard drive (or of a defective disc), or a hard drive becomes inaccessible due to data corruption.

  • I have the new Windows 8 and cannot sync my Ipod Nano

I have the new Windows 8 and cannot sync my Ipod Nano is anyone know how to do this?

When I try to sync my ipod nano with my new system of Windows 8, I get a notice of the WDF_violation and the sad face on a blue screen, then my computer needs to be restarted.  I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled, so I have the latest version on my machine.  However, which did not help.  ITunes recognizes my nano and gives me an indication that it's sync... but new music I bought is not on the nano, nor is the updates of my specific playlists.

Clearly, it's a matter of Microsoft/Windows as my nano worked perfectly last week when I was on my old computer (Vista).

If this isn't an issue which is, or has been processed by Microsoft, it should be.  If my nano and my Windows 8 cannot talk to each other which is not acceptable.

I tried to uncheck hd videos and it will not download. There are currently on SD (movies are the Hunger Games and take fire if it helps).  Everything is updated.

Make a right click on the movie in iTunes and get information.  On the file tab, find dimensions, which is the resolution of the screen for the film.  The max resolution for an iPod nano 7th generation is 720 x 576, agreement to its technical specification

  • Sync ipod Nano to the spare computer

I would like to sync my iPod on another computer that I have "authorized". When I try to synchronize, put in guard lose all of the music on the iPod scare me off the coast. The original computer I used to charge the iPod crashed and burned.  It can't be this hard?  This is me. It's always me. Help?  Thank you.

If you use automatic synchronization, your iPod can be associated with ONE iTunes library at a time.  It was not the 'computer' or the computer is "authorized".  By definition, iTunes can only "sync" your iPod with iTunes library.  If you have a backup of your entire iTunes library, you can restore your iTunes library to a new computer, and your iPod would be happily sync with it, because it's the same iTunes library (on another computer).

When you have associated your iPod to a new iTunes library, the old iTunes library's existing content is erased and replaced by the content of the new iTunes library.  To avoid losing the existing iPod content, you must unload it.  By design, iTunes sync is generally in one direction, from iTunes to iPod library.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer songs from iPod to the computer (with the exception of songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like 'ipod music transfer', you should get a few useful links.  Here is a method that requires no additional software

    http://www.CNET.com/how-to/how-to-transfer-music-from-an-iPod-to-your-computer/

Once the files of songs from the iPod to your disk, add them to your current iTunes library.  After checking all the songs are in your iTunes library, you can sync your iPod.  Further, you should back up your iTunes data, as well as the rest of your user data.  iPods are not designed to be your iTunes backup.  To back up all your full iTunes library, you can use this method

  • Unable to sync some songs of 80 GB, iPod Classic

I used iTunes on a Windows 7 PC with various classic iPod for several years successfully and is currently using a 5th generation 80 GB Classic in my car and a late model 160 GB classic home.  Both are on the latest version of the software; 1.3 & 2.0.5 respectively.  My iTunes library is currently around 12 500 songs / 73 GB, or all the music podcasts, no videos, no movies, no contacts/calendars/other data.

Until recently, I synced everything for the 160 GB and restricted the 80 GB to selected playlists that left about 10 GB of free space.  It worked fine for two iPods for repeated synchronizations and synchronization of 160 GB is still without a problem, but now the 80 GB starts to sync, then freezes the sync and iTunes on some songs.

I did restore repeated the 80 GB in iTunes, reformatted the disk in Windows ("' scanned / no problems" ") and then restored again, but still have the same problem.

I then used manually ' manage songs' to transfer a Playlist of songs slightly less than 4,000, during which the sync and iTunes froze on several individual songs.  After too many hassles and several hours working my way towards the end of the Playlist, I transferred successfully about 3 800 songs on the iPod, which interfaced as usual with my car radio, but 114 songs, which was unable to transfer from iTunes to the iPod and suspended the synchronization process.  Back to try to reload a whole of these 114 songs (mostly .mp3, more a few .mp4a & .mp4p) caused immediate blocking of iTunes.  All of these 114 tracks play without iTunes, sync without problem to the 160GB iPod, problems and play without problem on my home system.

Having played just another Format and restoring, I just deleted all the music that I transferred manually so even once having an 80 GB iPod empty which fails to synchronize as soon as he arrives at the premiere of the "defective" runs 114.

I thought I knew my way around iTunes and iPod, but after fishing trawl of multiple support forums have been unable to work my way through this problem.

What happens if you start with an empty iPod and load it manually just ONE of these songs of 114 problem?

  • How can I sync the videos taken with an iPhone to an iPod nano

I want to sync the videos taken with my iPhone to my children your iPod nano. The videos are stored on my iMac in the Photos app in a specific album.

I tried using iTunes and synchronization of the picture with this particularly chosen album, but nothing has been synchronized. There is no error messages or warnings, just nothing is synchronized.

I know I could manually importing the video into iTunes and sync as films, but there should be an easier way to do this, right?

I think the method you mentioned is how you need to do.  In iTunes to sync iPod movies, you configure settings from iPod movies screen (to select the movies you want to synchronize).  Settings of the iPod screen photos is for photos (image files).  Movies do not appear on the screen of the parameters of the iPod movies , unless they are in your library of movies to iTunes.

  • Suddenly cannot sync albums of additional Photos from Mac to iPhone!

    Hi and thanks for reading!

I use OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan on Macbook Pro with iTunes version 12.5.1 and just upgraded to iOS on iPhone 10.0.2 SE. There are 40 GB of storage available on the iPhone.

All my photos are stored on my Mac and I always synchronize the albums selected using iTunes. Until today, I had nine albums (about 2000 pictures) synced to my phone. Just upgraded yesterday to iOS 10 and... cannot sync any additional album for my iPhone!   Do not help disable iTunes, Photos or even the iPhone and sync again. New pics added today to the former synchronized albums synchronizes all right.

Is there a trick?  Or a problem of incompatibility between iOS 10 and iTunes 12.5.1?

    See you soon!

Why you can not synchronize? What exactly happens? This error message you get?
