Cannot telnet ASA VPN remote

Hello

I set up a VPN between two sites using two cisco asa. The VPN works perfectly, but I can not telnet, ssh or run ASDM on the ASA remote, that is, if I'm on LAN 1, I can not telnet, ssh or run ASDM on ASA2 and vice versa.

Just to test, the entire networks (LAN1 and LAN2) have all-IP and ICMP authorized on VPN, but no way.

I can connect and everything else between LAN1 and LAN2.

on the ASA1, I tried both

Telnet netmask2 LAN2 inside

and

Telnet netmask2 LAN2 outdoors

What's wrong?

Thank you

  • ASA ASA VPN remote access

This is my first post on this site. Hi all!

I have not really set up ASAs or VPN on Cisco devices before. Currently, I'm trying to configure a dial-up VPN between ASA devices, a 5505 and a 5510. The 5510 is supposed to be the server and the 5505 is supposed to be the easyvpn customer. The reason why I'm opting for remote access instead of site to site is that I much 5505 s on the remote I need to set up in the future, and they will be moving around a bit (I prefer not to have to follow the configs to site to site). The 5510 is not mobile. The ASA devices are able to ping to 8.8.8.8 as ping each other in the face of public IP address.

Neither SAA can ping IP private of other ASA (this part makes sense), and I am unable to SSH from a client on the side 5510 for internal interface (192) of the 5505. I wonder if someone more experienced in the remote VPN ASA than me is able to see something wrong with my setup? I glued sterilized configs of two ASAs below.

Thanks a lot for any assistance!

Yes, you will need to either configure split tunnel so that internet traffic goes out through your local Internet service provider, GOLD / directed by configuration current you are tunneling all traffic (internet traffic Inc.) to the ASA, then you will need to create NAT for internet traffic.

To set up a tunnel from split:

    split-acl access-list allowed 192.168.30.0 255.255.255.0

attributes of the Group mull strategy

    Split-tunnel-policy tunnelspecified

  • Cisco ASA, connect an IP address on the OUTSIDE of the VPN remote access

    Hello

I tried to find resources on the net but could not find a solution, then post it here. Maybe someone can help.

So the problem is that I'm trying to access a server on the cloud for remote VPN access (cisco asa 5510).

The server on the cloud (54.54.54.54) is only accessible from the outside interface (192.168.11.2) NY Firewall (cisco asa 5510)

I added some ACE for this in the ACL of VPN tunnel to divide.

    NY-standard host allowed fw # access - list vpn_remote-customer 54.54.54.54

And I see the road added to my cliet machine after the VPN connection, but still it cannot connect to this server.

The network INTERIOR, I can connect to the server.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

This is most likely a problem with NAT hair/U-turn hairpin.

Will need to see the configurations or you would need to check yourself

I don't know what your version of the Software ASA is to be like who determines what is the format of NAT configuration.

So far, you have confirmed that the ASA VPN configuration provides the VPN Client with the route to the remote server. Then in circulation should be tunnel to the ASA.

Then, you will need to check the output of this command

    See the race same-security-traffic

You should see the command in the output below

    permit same-security-traffic intra-interface

If you do not, you will need to add it. This effect of controls is to allow traffic to enter an interface and exit through the same interface. In your case this applies to Internet VPN Client traffic to the remote server as it between ' outside ' and spell through the 'outside'.

Then, should ensure that dynamic PAT is configured for the VPN Clients.

    8.2 software (and below)

You most likely have a dynamic configuration PAT like that on the firewall, if levels of above running software version

    Global 1 interface (outside)

    NAT (inside) 1 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

In this situation if we wanted to add dynamic PAT for a pool of VPN, we would add

    NAT (outside) 1

This would allow users to use the same public IP address as LAN users, when accessing the remote VPN server

    Software 8.3 (and above)

Because the NAT configuration format is completely different in the latest software, you could probably just add a new configuration of NAT completely without adding a

    network of the VPN-PAT object

    subnet

    dynamic NAT interface (outdoors, outdoor)

Of course, its possible that there could be some configuration NAT already on the device which could cause problems for this configuration. If this does not work then that we would have to look at the actual configurations on the ASA.

    Hope this helps

Let me know how it goes

  • PORT of Configuration.DEFAULT of ASA AnyConnect remote VPN access.

Hello!!! Now, I need to configure the AnyConnect VPN remote access. And I have a question.

The default 443 AnyConnect port, but the port is occupied on SAA. We use this port for another application.

How to change the port to connect? Is this true? Thank you!!!

Hi, please add the following configuration:

    1. Enable the WebVPN on the SAA feature:

      ASA(config)#webvpn
    2. Enable WebVPN services for the external interface of the ASA:
      ASA(config-webvpn)#enable outside
    3. Allow the ASA to listen WebVPN traffic on the custom port number:
      ASA(config-webvpn)#port <1-65535>
  • Site to Site and together on ASA 5505 VPN remote access

    Hello

I tried to set up a VPN Site again on an ASA5505 where there already is a VPN remote on it.

After you add the new configuration lines, I received the following message when I debug:

    04 Nov 07:06:06 [IKEv1]: group = , IP = , error QM WSF (P2 struct & 0xd91a4d10, mess id 0xeac05ec0).

04 Nov 07:04:36 [IKEv1]: group = , IP = , peer of drop table Correlator has failed, no match!

Someone knows what's the problem? And what to change in the config?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ruben

    Hello

If the ASA had a remote access VPN and you add a new Site-to-Site you must make sure that the priority for the card encryption is weaker for the new Site-to - added Site. This is because otherwise traffic will always try to match the access tunnel at distance. You can check it with the command "sh run card cry"

    Federico.

  • Impossible to disable Easy VPN remote for ASA 5505 6.4 AMPS

When installing ASA 5505, we chose Easy VPN remote.  Now, we want to turn it off.  We go to Configuration in ASDM > remote access VPN > Easy VPN remote and try to clear the checkbox enable Easy VPN remote, but it will not uncheck.  How can we disable it?

ASDM, go in tools--> command line Interface...--> and then enter 'without activating vpnclient'--> the button 'send '.

Which will disable the Easy VPN remote on the SAA.

    Hope that helps.

  • Create different group with VPN remote access

    Hello world

The last time, I ve put in place a VPN for remote access to my network with ASA 5510

I ve access to all my internal LAn helped with my VPN

But I want to set up a vpn group in the CLI for a different group of the user who accesses the different server or a different network on my local network.

Example: computer group - access to 10.70.5.X network

What you need to configure is to imitate the configuration on the tunnel-group and group strategy and to configure access to specific network you need.

Currently, you have configured the following:

    vpn-vidrul group policy internal
    vpn-vidrul group policy attributes
    Protocol-tunnel-VPN IPSec
    Split-tunnel-policy tunnelspecified
    Split-tunnel-network-list value vpn-vidrul_splitTunnelAcl
    value by default-field vidrul - ao.com

    type tunnel-group vidrul-vpn remote access
    vpn-vidrul general-attributes tunnel-group
    address clientvpngroup pool
    Group Policy - by default-vpn-vidrul
    IPSec-vpn-vidrul tunnel group attributes
    pre-shared-key *.

What you need is to create new group policy and the new tunnel-group and configure the tunnel split ACL to allow access to specific access required.

The user must then connect with the new group name and the new pre-shared key (password).

    Hope that helps.

  • Assign the static IP address by ISE, ASA VPN clients

We will integrate the remote access ASA VPN service with a new 1.2 ISE.

Authentication is performed in Active directory. After authentication, can address assigned to a specific user of VPN by ISE IP?

This means that the same VPN user will always get the same IP address. Thank you.

    Daniel,

You can override the IETF-RADIUS-Framed-IP-Address in the authorization policy.

However if I may make a suggestion:

Unless you have only a handful of users to do so, it may be appropriate to assign the address of ISE pool or perform the mapping of LDAP attributes on ASA itself.

In the latter case, the IP addresses are kept on the server as LDAP attributes and ASA will map the IP address. You don't want to keep address IP DB in several places.

  • Device behind a Firewall other, ASA VPN

I have a client who wants to put their VPN / behind the ASA ASA main connected to the Internet.  Both devices have an inside leg for the internal network, but the ASA VPN connects directly to the Internet ASA.

    Topology:

Outisde FW: Internet transfer Procedure > ASA/FW > leg DMZ to ASA/VPN

ASA VPN: Outside the L3 Interface interface DMZ of ASA/FW link

On the outside NAT FW I would be the external address of the VPN / ASA outside the public IP address is available and I have a rule that allows all IP from outside to outside the private IP VPN.  Inside = 192.168.254.1 outside = public IP address.

Configured on the VPN / ASA, ASA standard SSL Remote Access.

When I hit the NAT public IP address, nothing happens.  I've run packet - trace on the FW outside, and everything seems good.

    Someone at - it a sampling plan / config for a similar topology?     Internet > ASA/FW > dmz-leg > ASA/VPN

    Thanks in advance,
    Bob

Can share you your NAT and routing configuration? Of these two ASAs

    Hello

communication works when you send the traffic of easyvpn derivation because it froms the IPSEC SA to pool local subnet and anyconnect HQ. The SA formed only when the branch initiates the connection as it's dynamic peer connection to HQ ASA.

When there no SA between branch and HQ for this traffic, HQ ASA has no idea on where to send the anyconnect to network traffic.

I hope this explains the cause.

    Kind regards

    Averroès.

  • New ASA/VPN configuration

So, I am looking to add one of my spare 5510 firewall to my secondary network as a vpn connection.

All I want this new ASA to do is handle my site anyconnect VPN connections.  I'm pretty new to ASAs if any help would be great.  I know how to create a new access VPN on my ASA and I added a NAT for my inside and outside traffic to my new Pool of IP VPN.

My question is, since it's only for the VPN and I want all my current internal traffic to continue to the asa 5510 existing routing, do I have to enter the ACL to my new single AAS of VPN?  ACLs are used for VPN traffic and do I need them to traffic the route via VPN?

I'll put up inside interface of connection to one of my main Cisco switches and the outside interface connects to my DMZ switch on the new ASA only VPN.

    Thank you

I don't know if I am how you connect to the external interface of single ASA VPN. Normally, in this type of installation, we would see the ASA VPN "in parallel" with the perimeter firewall.

You mention the DMZ switch that threw me a little. If you are in France through your main firewall and go to single ASA VPN via the DMZ then Yes you will need to allow several open ports (protocol 50, udp/500, tcp/443 among others) and may have to do some other techniques (NAT - T, etc.) depending on the type of remote you are implementing. That's why we rarely see this configuration used - it adds a good dose of complexity without significant benefit.

When the old facility is used, you need to switch internal to know to route traffic to the pool VPN through the only ASA VPN inside the interface. A static route is more often used, although you can use OSPF or EIGRP if you wanted to.

Should generally not be any access list that VPN traffic around the Bank access lists incoming interface. Back to remote clients traffic is coming from inside and out through (and is usually part of anestablished connection) so no access list is necessary inside.

  • ASA5520 migration pool VPN remote access

Hi all, looking for an entry in the best way to migrate to a new pool to access remote a DHCP address assignment.  We currently use a 24 pool, allowing us to 253 IP addresses... during the recent hurricane, we reached 250 used IP addresses and had to start asking users to connect to our device ASA VPN to another country, not an ideal solution.  I would like to extend our current VPN subnet to a 23, but I'm not a free 24 subnet above (or below) our current 24 subnet.

I can certainly affect a new/23 subnet, but I'm looking for the best with minimal downtime migration plan (no interruption of service would be better).  Can I just add the new range of pool to the section of general-attributes tunnel-group RAVPN the current pool, or should I remove the old swimming pool, disconnect all remote access VPN users and have them reconnect to start to use the new pool?

We run ASA Version 8.2 (1).

    Thank you!

    Hello

I need to confirm (EDIT: checked everything in writing it) myself that I have not needed to do this before, BUT to my knowledge, you should be able to assing more of a DHCP pool on a single Client VPN connection.

Please check the Cisco ASA command reference for 8.2

VPN configuration pool under Tunnel-group configurations

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa82/command/reference/A2.html#wp1656186

VPN configuration pool under Group Policy configurations

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa82/command/reference/A2.html#wp1660582

They are in fact at the same location in the same document.

Seems to me that there should be no problem to add another 24 pool to your Client VPN configurations (and do the necessary ACL / NAT Configurations)
