  I went to the control panel to turn on the firewall, but a screen will appear that says: "due to a problem not identified, windows cannot display the firewall settings."  When I click on parameter update now a screen said, "firewall Windows was unable to make the requested updates".  Any ideas on how to proceed from here?

  Hi all. I can not turn some pictures I recently copied to my iPhone on my hard drive.

  I have them copied to my iPhone 4s to my PC Windows 7 to an images subfolder.  I can see everything without problems.  If I highlight photos private need rotating, right-click, "Turn clockwise", then sometimes the images will turn successfully.  But sometimes, I get an error saying "you cannot rotate this image. The file may be in use or open in another program, or the file or the folder may be read-only. "Before I got my iPhone 4s, I had no problem of rotating images.  I'm a little doubtful that the new phone / iOS5 is somehow to blame, because it is not attached to the computer, but who knows.

  The files are not read-only.  I tried to do a clean boot to minimize the number of running processes, but I can not even turn some of my images.  Someone at - it other clues what that could be the problem, or how I could sue him?  Thank you...

  Just transfer all the photos you took for a a file on windows (as you would if you back up your iphone / ipad to your computer) and open the file using Windows Office Picture Manager. This program is included as part of the suite Microsoft so it was free for me. I'm running windows vista choose to see the file 'point of view miniature"the small box with 4 small rectangles top just under the shortcuts menu command. You can see all the photos in the folder. You can now individually rotate photos or highlight a bunch of them and turn them both using the rotation button up on top. Its a button with triangles too little about it. One of the triangles is laid on its side. Then press 'save' and voila! All your photos are now saved right side upwards. I didn't experience any sacrifice of quality photos or changes. • McAfee Firewall will stay not on; Cannot turn on the firewall of Windows 7; Computer keeps restarting; and I can't access a file because my computer says I don't have permission

  I use McAfee Firewall as my firewall.  Now when I try to turn it on, it continues for less than a second, then turns off.  Firewall Windows also not be.

  My computer rebooting in itself guard so I can't complete a virus scan.  In one place, he suggested I have try in Safe Mode, but it didn't work (and he told me that it did not work because I couldn't connect to the internet).  I tried "Safe Mode with networking" and he would not even let me scan.

  Another thing, the last time that I tried to scan it got stuck on "Internet C:\Windows\SysWOW64A\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary / / Desktop.ini.  This makes me think that this could be the problem, so I tried to get him to put the file in "VirusTotal.  I was able to get to him before that I got the idea to put it in "VirusTotal" but now it won't let me and he says:

  Do not use any product that claims to make your computer run better.  Almost all of them are either false, themselves, an infection, or put your computer at risk. Delete everything that claims to be there to prevent the infections or pretends to make your computer work better, except for the singular than an antivirus product.

  It is a controversial topic, but your choice of AV software may be something you want to take a 2nd look.  I suggest you visit this website to get an idea of what AV software made the best work, depending on what type of user you are: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ is a non-profit that has been around for a long time and I hope that their results.

  When you interpret these results, remember the difference between a product that detects 95% and the other 99% of infections, it is actually 5 times more likely to allow an infection.

  I pick up after about 150 Windows PCs and I have more than 13 years.  Until last September, the only AV software that I would allow my clients to use was Norton Antivirus.  Note that this is not the same as any other product, Norton 360 or Internet Security.  My clients rarely know infections.

  Last September, Symantec (Norton owner) decided to no longer sell such a product.  After much research, I decided on Bitdefender Antivirus 2015 +.  I installed it on most of these PCs to date and has never been a problem, and it has been on a course of about 11 months now...  It is a better product than Norton.  It is also cheap. One of the things I love the most about it, is the silence and discretion.  Especially if silenced you its function "portfolio".

  My customers know that if they install any product of 'Internet Security', I won't work on their computers until it is deleted.  Very well, I learned the hard way that other components of these products (other than the AV itself) IS causing more problems than any profit that they bring and work mainly by stopping the Windows component that does a very good job of this particular task still.  The problem is that when I started to work on a computer with an IS on it, I could spend hours trying to diagnose the problem, only to find out that by taking the product of the IS, the problems have become much clearer and easier to solve.  I think that the product of the IS actually hides the problem.

  As I said, this is a controversial topic and you will find many different very strong opinions.  I know that mine is based on a fairly large sample over a long period, and are consumers of consumer type Windows.

  Please note.  You should never have more than one protection software installed.  Always make sure that you completely remove the firmware all protection before installing a new one.  That contains software that may have come preinstalled on your computer when it's new

  Totally impossible to delete most of all AV software simply by using the standard uninstallation tool Windows 7.  Most of the majors also publishes a "removal tool" that gets the rest.  If you do not completely remove it, it will cause very hard to understand and diagnose problems.

  On the Start Menu, type devmgmt.msc, and then open Device Manager. On the view tab, select "Devices by connection" and put a check next to "Show hidden devices". Search for the Windows Firewall authorization driver (there will be a gear icon gold). Double-click on that and on the driver tab, make sure that the startup type is set to "Application".
  Then start the service "Windows Firewall" and see if the problem is resolved.
   
  Method 2: The driver of the authorization (mdsdrv.sys) firewall is a system protected Windows file. You can run the tool File Checker system and if the file is found to be damaged, it will be replaced.
  Proceed with caution.
  Go to start / all programs / accessories.
  Right-click on the element "Command Prompt" and select the "Run as Administrator" option.
  Click on 'Continue' in the UAC prompt.
  In the command window, type the following command.
   SFC/SCANNOW
  Press ENTER.
   
  This will take a few minutes to complete. Try not to use the computer during execution of SFC.
  When the tool is finished, restart the computer and review the firewall options.

  Some time ago, the I realized that I can not use home network more. I can't turn on my discovery of home network and streaming media. The network discivery always returns OFF.

  I have recently reinstalled windows 7 because that... Well, it was long due, my laptop for about 3 years now and still had the original installation on it. But this time every time when I try to turn on my network discovery he constantly changing to and in my home group when I click on choose media streaming options and try to turn on media streaming it dose nothing, I looked at about 20-25 different sites/forums and followed the guide on here it is turn on and set to automatic

  o support TCP/IP Netbios
  o workstation
  and a few others that I found as switch function Discovery Provider Host but still nothing, even uninstalled my A / V AVG, turned off my firewall altogether and also tried to get into safe mode with networking, I tried to leave my home group and join, tried to change an active home to work and even public network but still not good.
  I mainly use this function to listen to music from my laptop to my Xbox then play the games, but if my Xbox can't locate my cell phone so I can't listen to music, using windows media center, it works I can listen to music, photos videos etc, but that's all that is not of a any real use to me.
  My laptop is a fujitsu Siemens, I have a Wi - Fi connection with my laptop and Xbox, but have you tried Wired, the Xbox can find my laptop ok MOM, she can't find my cell phone no more.
  IM at the end of my rope here I really don't know what else to do to reinstall my windows in the hope that it work that I really want to avoid, especially if it still does not.

  Try to keep the file sharing and printers on a home network.  Try changing the settings on the control panel; All Control Panel items: Center network and sharing; Advanced sharing settings.

  When I stop the Windows Firewall service, I can activate the sharing I want.  Of course the windows firewall prevents sharing I would do on my network.

  I'm uncomfortable with Miss having a firewall work on my computer.  How to configure my Win 7 machine windows firewall to allow communications with my homegroup?  I tried to restore the default values.  This did not allow the communication.  I tried to find the homegroup settings in the advanced settings of the windows firewall.  No luck there.

  Method 1:

  To turn on network discovery
  
  1. Open advanced sharing settings by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel. In the search box, type network, click Network and sharing Center, and then, in the left pane, click on change settings for sharing advanced.
  2. click on the chevron to expand the current network profile.
  3. click turn on network discovery and then click on save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide
  confirmation.

  If any of these responses not solve the issue, let us then run the sfc scan and check if any file system is corrupt. I also recommend to perform a clean boot in order to find the root cause of the problem.

  a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

  b. type the following command and press ENTER:
  sfc/scannow

  The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

• Windows cannot connect to a network

  I recently had to wipe my computer and I reinstalled Windows 8. I installed all the updates and went to download Windows 8.1, and he said that he could not connect.   I got this new PC Windows Vista Home Edition x 64 SP2 and I need to connect it to the network wireless in my house because that the router Netgear DG834GT wireless broadband is not very conveniently placed for wired connectivity. I have a Netgear WG111T USB wireless adapter which works fine on my other PC / laptop (XP & Vista, both 32-bit), but I can't make it work on my Vista x 64 PC.

  I have installed the version of the driver 2.1.0.26 x 64-compatible for the WG111T and the device works correctly, according to Device Manager.

  When I try to 'connect', I get 'Windows cannot find any additional network . " While the other PC at home can pick up 3 wireless networks.

  Go until the network & sharing Center, then manage the networks without wire, then Add, then manually create a network profile, I get "unexpected error ."

  I spoke to Netgear who insist the player WG111T is compatible with the x 64 visits.

  I talked to my PC provider who suggested to try the adapter on another PC Vista x 64 to see if it works there. Problem is, I don't know anyone else with a Vista x 64 PC.

  I would be extremely grateful if someone can help me before on this one. Thanks in advance for all advice.
