Cannot update Windows XP Pro on a reinstall.
While making a reinstallation of Windows XP Pro SP2 on a Dell 4600, now I get error 0 x 80240036 and "site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to display." This has been a repeated problem today. I'm at a standstill. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.
I can post only what others have tried and had some success with.

Cannot update Windows XP Pro after the reinstallation of the Message, the website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The error number is 0x8024400A.
Should I turn off my Anti virus software is what could be stopping my updates? some sites would sugest that I use Kaspersky 2012, if that's the case, then why do all my other programs that are installed to date OK?
Hello
Check your level of service current pack...
- Hold down the Windows (between Ctrl and Alt) key and press Pause break
- Examine what is listed in the system: section
If there is no service pack designated first level you must download SP2 from...
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=28
.. .and then run the downloaded program to install SP2.
Once you have done this, or if you were already in service pack 1, 1a or 2, then install SP3 by downloading and running from...
http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&ID=24
For both of the above, you can ignore the text that says it's for network installations and also ignore the text advising windows/microsoft update if a single update of a PC.
So try and get up-to-date with the Windows updates.

HP 355 G2: update Windows 7 Pro for Windows 8 Pro
We are a charitable organization of small learning supporting 3 other charitable organizations who were lucky enough to get funds to buy laptop computers. After buying 12 we seem unable to talk to someone at the supplier or the HP that can solve a very simple problem! The laptops have the system operating Windows 7 Pro but included in the box is a Windows Pro 8.1 operating system and it seems that you can not pass directly from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1 and get a drive of Windows 8 for each of 12 laptops is impossible. The provider does not have the technical know-how (even if a technology company!) and HP will not talk on the phone a number as large as 12! I'm still trying to solve this problem after 4 weeks. I do not think that we will buy HP new equipment!
Hello:
While I do not work for or represent HP, W8.1 OEM disk Pro comes with your laptop is only for a clean install of Windows 8.1.
It is not intended nor permitted to be used as an upgrade disc.
You cannot spend W7 to W8.1 and keep the existing programs with this disc.
If you want to install W8.1, you need to boot from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen to do a custom (clean) installation of W8.1.
This disc is a full installation disc and product key OEM of W8.1 in the BIOS of your PC will work for a clean install of W8.1 OEM.
Your laptop came with W7 Pro installed through W8.1 Pro downgrade rights.
Make sure that you create a recovery W7 media for each cell that you plan to install W8.1 on because you will not be able to reinstall W7 without a license key, if you decide you want to come back on W7.
The HP Recovery Manager program to create the recovery media before installing Windows 8.1.

Cannot update Windows 7 - Spinstall.exe resettlement?
Yesterday, I tried to update Windows 7 to the new Service Pack, but failed. An error window appears as says "the program cannot start (spinstall.exe) because sqmapi.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem. What is a real error or a virus? If true, does anyone know how to reinstall the spinstall.exe or file missing sqmapi.dll?
Ignore the title, perhaps a repair installation-

Update Windows ALWAYS fails after a reinstalled (CUSTOM) Windows 7 reformat
I often need to fix a PC by performing a custom Windows 7 reinstall. Even more now that Windows 10 is itself by pushing on the users and do not restore to Windows 7. Absolutely 100% of the time, regardless of 32-bit or 64-bit, Prem Home or Pro, Windows updates ALWAYS fail. I run said repair tools he solves problems 2 and it still does not work. ALL help topics are not relevant, just the hard disk was formatted, no other software has been installed, no firewall or language problems. Material is not relevant it accomplishes this task on 20 for 20 different computers in a row.
You could look into this,
It is expected by M$, we must now jump through hoops to clean install.

Cannot download windows 8 pro error "We can connect right now, please try again later"
Original title: Windows 8 is not a valid product key.
I'm trying to upgrade to windows 8 pro with a key that I bought at the time when it was out, and when I try to download with the download tool, it is said "We cannot connect you right now, please try again later" I did some digging around and discovered that it could be because it has been activated somehow , I have not this installed on any pc help?
-Try to switch to a wired connection if you download over Wi - Fi
Disable/uninstall no matter what third-party Antivirus, you may have installed before the update.
-Do a clean boot.

Update Windows XP Pro Dell D830
the Windows update website site has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view
Just a clean installed because I had all sorts of problems with Windows Update.
Service Pack 3 is responsible and Office 2010
MSE is responsible and does its updates.
Cannot use Windows Update at all - the main reason for doing a clean install.
Any ideas?
I had a stable internet connection and only after manual installation of dozens of updates, I've finally fixed. It's obviously one or more updates that cause this problem as there are dozens of people who have the same problem.
