"Cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7
I get the error 'cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser. Player will now stop. Please exit your browser and try again"in Windows 7 x 32 and Windows 7 x 64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7. This occurs when you try to open a PDF file in Internet explore 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF file in Quickbooks 2008. If I answer ok or cancel, the file opens normally. If I open acrobat 8 first of all and then the pdf file opens as expected. I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader, with no difference in the result. Because this happens on two different computers a new copy of windows 7 x 64, the other, an upgrade to windows 7 x 32 and they used to work before moving to windows 7, I guess that there is some sort of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat. Is this a known problem and will be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?
For Windows 7 you will need Adobe Acrobat 9.1.

Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDFS in web browser error
I have a new computer and installed Acrobat Pro. When I try to click on the PDF links in the browser, I get an error:
Cannot use Adobe Reader to view the PDF in the browser.
I want to be able to open these links using Acrobat Pro. What can I do in Internet Explorer so I don't always get these errors, and so pdfs open automatically with the help of Acrobat Pro?
Steve
Acrobat 8.1 was not designed for Windows 7.

Lately, when I try to open a PDF file, I get a popup wanting to buy Acrobat Pro. I say that I am "not interested". At this point, I'm not able to open the PDF file. I went through at least 20 times.
Someone can stop the popups and allow me to continue using the adobe reader software?
Thank you
In fifteen years, I have never seen anything like this. Are you sure you are using the player and not a trial of Acrobat?
In all cases, you must use the Adobe cleaning tool to completely remove the Readrr or system yoru Acorbat
Then, download and run the Offline Installer to reinstall the drive.
You will not see all the guests to buy Acrobat.

I used the Firefox troubleshooting guides, not good. The patch of Java is activated and shows when I check the requests. However when I run Firefox plugins always displays the java plug in is obsolete and should be updated immediately.
Hi mrwdrule,
Have you looked at the Base files display PDF in Firefox article? There are a lot of useful information in there. In fact, it lists two different plugins to try to open the PDF files. I would try the two just to be sure.
Hope this helps!

error message: This lifeboat of adobe acrobat/reader to view PDF files in a browser
Problem is in Firefox 18.0.2 when a 'sign' ID was created in Acrobat 9.5.3 (Win XP). When sign ID has been removed, now redirected to a file PDF has been activated, but when printing PDFS consulted has been attempted, once again had the same error message.
Try these two steps:
(1) disable the Acrobat plugin
Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Modules > Plugins category
(2) update your preferences for opening a PDF file
Orange Firefox button or classic menu Tools > Options > Applications
Type of the pdf in the box to filter the list down to one or two entries. In the right column, choose a setting as "Always ask" for Firefox will give you the option to open or save the PDF file.
It work?

Cannot open a PDF document in Windream using Adobe Reader (11.0.9)
Our company uses a system of records for storage management and archiving of documents. Since the update to the latest version of Adobe Reader (11.0.9) last week, we are unable to open a PDF with Adobe Reader. An AcroRd32.exe * 32 process is initiated, but the document will not open or view. Finally, we suffer a system crash. Open any other PDF document (not stored in archives management system) using Adobe Reader is fine. Documents can also be opened in the system of management of archives using Adobe Acrobat.
Try to disable the Protected Mode (see response to Pat here: anyone having problems with the update to Acrobat Reader 11.0.9 on Win7 X 64?) and see if that helps...

I used to have installed on my pc Adobe Reader XI (11.0.10). I went for a few days, and when I logged on my pc I have installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. With this new software, I can't print my PDF now. When I try to print in the print area, I see all documents print, the rest is grey. When I press print it tells me that it cannot print the document because its now been selected. I have been on various forums, and no one can help me. I am at a total loss what to do. Can you help me please?
Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say ("' I see print all documents ', ' because it's now been selected" ").
Can post you the screenshots of these messages: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933
