Cannot use external ps/2 for keyboard USB with my Satellite A100
I have a Satellite A100-064 occasionally, I want to use a keyboard 'good '. I have a Microsoft keyboard with a ps/2 connection added a usb adapter, but when I plug it in nothing happens. I don't want this Microsoft keyboard only to work, I want to just use it when I have a lot of typing to do.

Have you tried to enable Legacy USB emulation in the Toshiba HWSetup?
This tool can be found in the Control Panel, or you can access the assistance of Toshiba.
But this is only a slight hope. I m not 100% sure if it helps or not.
A friend of mine tried to also connect the PS/2 keyboard to the portable USB via PS / 2-> USB adapter.
But it didn t work.
Finally, he replaced the keyboard with another USB keyboard and it worked.

When I was cleaning up my PC, I removed the programs with the Add/Remove Programs utillity.
I accidentally deleted somekind of its driver. Now, I'm not able to use the fn for its control.
I am not able to use FN - UP to volume high, FN-DOWN to lower the volume or FN - ESC to mute more.
I tried the system restore, but this does not solve the problem.I tried to install the audio driver from the toshiba Web site, it has not helped either.
Is anyone now how I can solve this problem and make the FN-UP/DOWN/ESC for volume control still works?

I lost my laptop computer restore disc and it is no longer supported by the manufacturer. Can I use the installation disc for my desktop with my laptop serial number?
My title says it all. I have an old HP laptop that they do not send to restore the disc more (I don't know yet I had one; his old laptop from my brother) and I have an installation disc for my new PC. I have a Windows XP Home edition SP2 installation disc. However, as the hard drive of my laptop broke down, I don't know what version of windows it was. I think it should have been an OEM version and the sticker says it was Windows XP Home Edition.
Now, anyway I tried to install my installation on laptop computer disc, offering series of laptop computer but now it asks me to activate. Will it work if I activate it?

Unless you are lucky enough to know someone who has a generic OEM drive, which you can borrow, I don't see a practical solution for you. I advise you to spend the money to buy one, even if you could find one to buy from a reliable source (not eBay!). Although a generic OEM disc should work with your product key, there is no guarantee that it will work with your product key.
If your laptop can be retrieved through a restore partition, and you can't borrow a disc that will work with your product key, then you have pretty much exhausted all reasonable or practical options.
I finally did! I borrowed a copy of a generic OEM drive, through activation and it is!

Say now, I returned the drive OEM back (don't want to make an illegal copy) and want to be able to use my current system installed to generate a system disk that will allow me to avoid all the problems I've had up to now. For Portege 3490 AC adapter does not work with the Satellite A100-159
I have a supply of 15V 120W car (or plane Kensington). It works very well with a Portege 3490CT. It doesn't do a thing with my Satellite A100-159 new. The power supply provides also 15 V 6 a. Can someone tell me why the Kensington work?
Or does anyone have a diagram to a power supply adapted myself, preference of 11, 5-14, 12(4) and 24 VDC (23-28: 8)?

I can give t you an answer why it does not work but usually you need to use the adapter for vehicle recommended by Toshiba. Incorrect adapter may damage the laptop!

I finally got my PC at work in lieu of my GPU. However, when I try to start my PC, he recommended that I use the repair of the system. That the keyboard does not support the Bluetooth HID profile. BlackBerry requires Bluetooth SPP profile.

Not use 5.4 ACS for TLS authentication with a certificate not in the string

I have installed ACS 5.4 and several wireless environments.
EAP - TLS is used to authenticate users of our area (of self-signed cetificates)
Then use PEAP and need for a real external cert... (Signed by Terena)
The problem is that I can use a single certificate for authentication EAP on ACS, and I need them both to work.
I see only 2 options:
1 configure the TLS network to authenticate without going through the ACS cert in the string (use the real one)
2. set up somehow to use two certificates, one for each service.
Please help, im desperate.

You can't have several certificates of server/identity on ACS for EAP flavours. As a best practice, get the third-party certificate and check to associate the certificate with the EAP protocols that use SSL/TLS tunneling: EAP - TLS, PEAP and EAP-FAST.

Strange behavior USB Flash Drive Satellite A100-626
Hello
I did install Windows Vista Business Edition on my Satellite A100-626 (PSAA9) following the instructions provided in the Web page of drivers.
So far, everything works as expected, except for one little (or no) question.
When I ask Vista to 'Remove hardware safely' my USB Flash drive, a Popup appears telling me to remove it. So far, so good :D
The only thing is that the flash player is not put out as could be expected and and yellow question mark appears in Device Manager.
Opening of the question mark can read what follows:
"Windows cannot use this hardware device because it has been developed to remove safely, but it has not been removed from the computer. (Code 47) To resolve this issue, disconnect the device from your computer and plug it in again. »
Following the instructions above, the light turns off, lol...
Someone else met this strange behavior? If so, any solution?
I tried a few USB flashes that run well on XP and they both do the same thing.

It's very strange. I have the Satellite A100-504 (comes with Windows XP Home edition). Last week, I installed Vista and all the stuff followed Toshiba document instructions facilities. I use the mouse wireless, external HDD USB web cam. With the help of these external devices together I never noticed a similar behavior.
You have the same situation with all the USB ports?

From your description, it must be bad for the keyboard input language. I think that, in your case, it is set to ENGLISH UK and must be set to the ENGLISH of the United States.

Need drivers for Windows XP only on Satellite A100-819
I recently bought a toshiba laptop a100-819.
I comes with pre-installed Windows Vista home premium.
But I want to install XP Pro on it. If that's what I did.But it is great to find the correct drivers. Who can help me to find the correct drivers I need to install so my laptop wil work corretly with XP.
I already found a few drivers, but I can't find the driver which ables allows you to use the "FN" button and I got a yellow? mark on the following devices: "ethernet controller" and "modem device on high definition audio bus".

I put t agree with you. All the XP drivers for this laptop are published on the page of the Toshiba driver. Maybe you are unable to find and install.It is very important that you choose the right notebook series.
It seems that the satellite A100-819 belongs to the PSAAR series. You must choose this number in the form of driver download!I checked this and background an installation instruction! This document provides information about the order of installation of driver.

I have the Satellite A100-165 with PX1211E - 1TVD USB DVB - T TV tuner (TV savvy). I think the installation is OK because I can watch TV on my PC!
But occasionally PC reboot with blue screen! :-((Je pense qu'il lorsque le niveau dele de signal TV est inférieur)
I update the driver warned with the version I found on the Web from Toshiba site: savvytv-udvbtt - 10180629.zip
But it's always the same!

can I use my 1 TB WD external hard drive (fat32) for readyboost... I have win 7 home premium (64-bit) & 2 GB of RAM right now I get a message saying that this device (1 TB drive) cannot be used for readyboost... but I can easily use readyboost when I insert my 4GB kingston USB...
To see the true performance increases you'd be better by upgrading the amount of RAM you have. I am surprised that you have Windows 64 bit with only 2 GB of RAM...
