Cannot use median filter inside the While loop

Hello

I try to use the filter median insade loop some time. This seems to be a problem. I have attached the VI. Help, please.

This entry is a number of sample as 1,1.1,1.05. This output is zero.

Thank you

Vincent

Since you get only one value per iteration, you can use the point-by-point version of the median filter.

    Hi Joseph,.

    THINK THE STREAM!

As the values are stored in the son and the shift registers (and NOT in any kind of variables), you must use these fundamentals of LabVIEW:

  • get the structure of the event inside the while loop to wait for event occurs before the execution

    Hello

I have a small problem, when I raise an event using a value change button, which works very well.  The problem is that the VI does not wait for me raise an event and instead runs the same event again, even if I have not pressed the button to start again.  The mechanical action of the button switch is released is.

I was wondering how you get the structure of the event to wait for a user event, after that he executed the first time.

    James.Morris wrote:

There is no reason that the event should be raised twice as much that the only way that it fires in your code is by the user by clicking on 'Hall measure only'.

Oh yes, there is, and I deserve a kudo for this one.  Mechanical action on the button is set on the switch until published, so click to generate an event, on the bottom and on the square, attached is an example.

My boy has my students hate this question, and to be honest, I hated it.  When never would you do that intentionally?  Honestly?  Anyway to change the button back to normal (as default latch when released) and move the terminal button in the structure of the event where it is managed and it will work as usual.

  • dispplaying data on the graph of waveform inside/outside while loop

I create a vi using the random number generator, entering the number in the function(express>>arithmateic>>maths>>trig>>sine) fishing and connect the output of the function sine waveforms. Table of waveform show no problem. If I replace the with graphic waveform table, I get an error that the source type is differenct type of sink. I then put waveform chart outside loop everything hoping that tunnel would act as a table, but still I get the same error. I then put build table palette between all border and loop waveform graph which is placed outside the while loop. I get no error, but no data is displayed on the graph of a waveform. Theoretically, if I press stop I would see a distorted sine wave on the waveform graph, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I am wondering how to view data on the graph of a waveform in such cases!

Thank you in advance for reading and help!

    See you soon

First of all, you can take a part of the basis of LabVIEW tutorials.

Since you need to work with a chart and it is the preferred method to display data point by point, I don't know why you try to use a chart. In any case, you cannot use all simply a table of generation because that would be just the result of the last iteration and your graph indicates it is a single point. If you activate autoindexing, then you get all the values, but not before the end of the loop. If you were to use a shift register and the build dashboard, you might place the graphic inside the loop, but then you would face performance issues that the table would grow uncontrollably.

  • For results outside the while loop

    Dear friends,

I have a while loop vi, which is attached to this mail. I want to update Boolean Boolean results, while the while loop runs. In fact this is not the case?

Do I need to use it as a global variable or another simple method to do? Could you please guide me, or please alter the VI of the sample which is attached to this mail.

    Thank you

    Best regards

    Tom

The Boolean value outside of the loop only will be updated, as wiring system, when the loop ends, it's how the LabVIEW data flow. The simplest method for updating the Boolean value outside of the loop is to unplug the wire, create a local variable (right click on the device, select 'create', 'Local Variable'), move the room inside the loop and hook it up to your function "equal." This is not necessarily the best method, just the easiest for this example.

  • Sequence structure flat inside the timed loop and execution order

I have some problems trying to implement a flat sequence structure when you use a loop timed on a target of cRio VI

I tried with or without the while loop around the structure of sequence flat, and I also tried to replace the 'Non-deterministic loop' with a timed loop

The problem is that the program seems to run only once, then get stuck somewhere

I am writing a program that performs the following operations as soon as possible:
    1. read the Pos_MC of entry on the FPGA
2 send the value of Pos_MC to the VI target (on cRio CPU)
    3. calculate a value of output based on Pos_MC with a PID block ("exit PID')
    4. send 'PID output' to the FPGA
5 write "PID output" analog output "MOOG".

In addition, I want the program to return the measured value "Pos_MC" to a host VI for the recording of data

So that the output of PID is calculated and sent to the FPGA as quickly as possible, I placed a flat sequence structure to ensure that it happens before you send the output to the nondeterministic loop for recording data

Also, I want the digital input 'Stop' to be able to stop the loop deterministic (the timed loop)

I read much more entries than that and the help of several PID and exit, but I rewrote the code for a single entry and exit to make it easier to illustrate

Screenshot of the code is shown in 'target code.png' and 'fpga code.png.

The VI themselves are attached in the next post (cannot attach files of more than 3)

    Question 1:
Any advice on how to get this race? Thank you!

    Question 2:
Is also my correct understanding in that, using this structure, each 0.9ms (fpga loop time) comes the following:
    1. the input ("Pos_MOOG") is read on the fpga
    2. the production of PID is calculated on the cRio with some delay to computation (for example 0.1ms)
    3. the output of PID is then written for analog output "MOOG" in all about 0, 1 - 0.2ms
    4. the FPGA program then waits until 0.9ms spent and repeat the process

As opposed to the next pass whenever performing a loop is started on the FPGA:

    1. the FPGA reads the input and written on the output (the output of the execution of the previous loop PID)

    2. then the entry is sent the cRio, PID output is calculated and sent to the FPGA

    3. the new release of PID is maintained until the next time through the loop

    Thank you!

Thanks for the input guys, any advice as to how I could get the feature in scenario 1?

I still say that the best route is just putting all the logic of the control in the FPGA.

Other alternatives include 1) the use of DMA FIFO sedn data back or 2) use interruptions so that the FPGA code can not read the output level until the RT.

DMA FIFOs are usually very limited, and I would not use them in this situation since I belive said it this code to do for the many outputs.

  • Cannot use 'lab1' host because the host CPU is not compatible with the judgment of the virtual machine suspend state.

I see that this error was mailed here, but can't seem to find a position with a resolution.

We use Lab Manager 4.0.4 and just upgraded the hosts in our laboratory.  Before updating to ESXi 4.1 ESX 4.0 u1, we cancelled all VMs in all configurations.  There is none who were suspended, they were all turned off.  We have improved vcenter 4.0 to 4.1 as well.  We moved from a dell poweredge 1950 with two quad core intel L5410 to a r610 with two quad core intel processor E5506.

When I try to turn on some of the lab configurations (our VM models all work fine), I get this error:

    • Cannot use 'lab1' host because the host CPU is not compatible with the judgment of the virtual machine suspend state.

I threw the State for the lab configuration (even if it was turned off and cancelled) and still get this message.  I guess the processor architecture of these chips is quite similar, and both are Intel.

If I go into this directory of Manager of laboratory inside the data store for one of these virtual machines that does not light and add to the inventory, he turned and starts fine on my server esxi 4.1.  So how do Lab Manager to get account it's well deploy and start it?

    Hey billk.

Although not supported completely, you can solve it by going to the SQL of Lab Manager database.  Make sure that you back up your database before you do anything like that.

Open the table "fsdir" and corresponds to the dir_id with the id Lab Manager VM.  Once you find the relevant line, change suspend_proctype_id to null (Zero-Ctrl).  You can do this while Lab Manager is still running.

The results can be unstable (i.e. Windows can crash if it was a drastic change of CPU), but at least you look at a hard reset.  The bat reset certainly not being able to return to the previous state.

Also note that while Lab Manager does not include CVS, if you activated, your virtual machines still work in CVS mode.  If you have a mixture of heterogenious of hosts in a cluster for Lab Manager, you can see this question pop up a lot.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with take back the virtual machine because of the VCA, but Lab Manager thinks otherwise and prevents it.

  • How the entry changes with each iteration of the while loop

    Hello

can anyone explain (clarify) to know how or what contribution will be fed like the d block of adaptive filtering for the first, second entry (n) and remaining iterations of the while loop as shown in the picture as an attachment...

As I need to feed the e (n) out of the while loop as input d (n) to the Adaptive block for the first iteration for the next iteration of the previous output e (n) of the block Adaptive must be fed back as input (n) d and other x (n) of entry form the DAQmx.

    Thank you.

You have a shift register on the edge of the loop, so for the first iteration, the input (n) d will get everything that feeds the shift register on the left of the outside. After that the adaptive filtering performed, e (n) is injected in the shift to the right, register to be read from the shift register on the left on the next iteration. And so on. This seems pretty much what you want.

If you need retain the value in calls, use a node that is initialized in the world of feedback to feed out of the while loop at the entrance.

  • store the value obtained in the while loop

    Hello

I'm data acquisition (1,000 points every 0.1 s) in a while loop. I would like to calculate the average y of the first sample of 1000 points when I click on a Boolean 'calibrate', store that value somewhere (outside the while loop?) so that it can subtract from each new amplitude y. In the vi below, a new average value is calculated in each loop, although I would only use the first.

You don't need to store the value outside the while loop. Keep the offset of the value when calibrate button is pressed and subtract the value with earned value. I modified your find VI the VI attached.

  • Slow loop inside the quick loop

It's my first week of work with LabView so perhaps the answer is very simple.

    Here's my question:

How can I include a slow loop (event B) inside a quick loop (event A)?

What I would like is for event B run every 1000 milliseconds, and the event has every 100 milliseconds.

Where event is a position control loop and event B a simple write to a file of any measure.

Any recommendations on how I should do this?

You can use an Express VI of time spent inside the quick loop to see if it is time to perform the slow loop.  I took the liberty to not use a loop for your "event B" because it sounded like you want just the rhythm with the event.  Place B events in the real case of the box Structure. The design of producer/consumer model is the way to go if you are developing a complex application. This will make if your problem is relatively simple.

  • Table 1 d in the while loop problem

    Hello world

I searched this problem in the forum, but seems only some positions quite didn't answer.

I'm stuck by saving the data in a while loop.

I have a while loop, within which there are two exits in each iteration, I want to add to a table, and then after the while loop is completed, I want to combine these two tables in a 2D array (since the release of them must be a pair in my case).

I tried 'Build array' and 'transpose array' and 'write in spreadsheet' element set, which maintains concerns me is how simply to add the result in a 1 d table during each iteration, these 2 outputs are in digital format, which prevent to directly create a table for it.

    Any idea is appreciated,

  • Force the While loop to exit when the delay is running

    Hello guys,.

I have a While loop containing some jobs. One of them is delay for 10 seconds. When I push the stop button, the loop does not stop immediately. Instead, it stops after a few seconds (can be, pending other jobs is done).

What can I do if I want to stop the loop immediately after I press the stop button?

    Thank you for sharing...

    Hello Yoppy,

I don't know if I understand your problem completely, but here's the method I use to stop the while loop immediately (some ms delay will be there for you).

I would like to know if the attachment helps.

There are several ways to do it and you can get better solutions than this one on this community.

  • To break out of the while loop (1)

    Hi all

I have a simple question that if a callback to a command button function, I use a (bLoop) While
loop, where bLoop is a boolean variable has the value TRUE, then how can I break up or out of this while loop by using a control on the façade, which released the while loop by setting bLoop = FALSE.

I tried, but it didn't come out

The problem here is that the CVI normally only runs a reminder at a time. While you are in snooze control, no treatment of GUI and subsequent calls to other reminders usually occurs.

You can try the following approach-, but it's not really the best method:

    While (b_loop) {/ / within a reminder}

    ... / / Do your tight loop

ProcessSystemEvents ();   Force the CVI to see if all the GUI needs maintenance controls

    }

If you have a reminder of different control to erase the global b_loop, this packing approach might work for you.

You must use this technique for very simple programs - it can quickly escape out of control and in the end upward in a mess if you're not careful. OR recommend that you use not ProcessSystemEvents() within a point of order.

You can recode this treatment so that it uses only:

    e.nextElement ())

    Once a loop iteration.

Directly at the start saying something like:

    String fileName = e.nextElement ());

and use fileName everywhere in your loop.

Also be aware that printStackTrace() will do nothing in your situation, it only works if you catch Throwable.  So make sure you something output all your catches exception and also have a catch (Throwable t) to catch the things you miss, as follows:

    {} catch (Throwable t)

    t.printStackTrace ();

    System.out.println ("Eception exception:" + t.toString ());

    }

I think your code is thrown an exception and you don't see it.
