Cannot use SBS 2008 RWW.
I'm trying to access the features of SBS2008 Remote Desktop from my company using a Vista laptop. Has been for a long time, but now it won't work. After logging in, I get redirected to the page that gives you the choice of OUtlook, a computer, or internal Web site. I also can not download graphics nay on this page. When I choose a computer, I am taken to another screen to connect SBS 2008. It is an infinite loop. Any ideas of each?

In July 2010, I've migrated a SBS2003 system to a system of SBS2008. There were a few hiccups along the way, but eventually everything worked very well and the original server was demoted and closes.
Fast forward to today, June 2013, and now that I see errors in the event log that read:
«This server is the owner of the following FSMO role, but considers that it not invalid.»
"This directory server has not recently received replication of a number of directory servers."
And when you run NTDSUTIL I can't join the domain controller by name or the domain name. I always get the following error message:
"Error DsBindWithSpnExW 0x6ba (the RPC server is unavailable".I have read and tried all the imaginable solutions I could find. However, the difference between my situation and all the other scenarios that I have met is that there is usually another available domain controller. This isn't my case.
Here is my configuration:
1 - SBS 2008 Server.
7 - workstations running Windows 7 Professional
I can't run Active Directory users and computers, Active Directory and approvals, or make changes in the DNS. However, DNS is working and my domain controller points to itself as a single domain controller and resolves the name to the IP address.
That I could track down, it's the original domain controller does not correctly downshift and there is always a ton of references to it in Active Directory, but I can't run any tools to remove the reference and seize the roles.
Is there someone out there who can help you?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

SBS 2008 cannot connect with the admin account
Hello
I have intalled SBS 2008 on my server. Yesterday he installed updates, now I can't connect using my administrator account (it says wrong user name and password). The only way I could log in with my credentials is hollow in Safe Mode. The server is used as a controller of domain, MS Exchange and the file and printer sharing. None of these processes work properly. I can access the drives mapped to the user's computer and Office does not connect to Microsoft Exchange.I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.Support is located in the Windows Server Forums:

HP 15 t: cannot connect laptop Windows 8 to SBS 2008
I just got my new HP 15 t and tried to connect it to the network so that the antivirus software, etc can download.
It's our first Windows 8 machine; our network is different from XP and Windows 7. The server is SBS 2008.
When I run the launcher (after http://connect), I get the following message if poster as soon as I clicked on connect:
"This computer does not meet the conditions required to connect to the network.
Before continuing, you must address the following issues:
Configuration of operating system supported not found
To attach your computer to the Windows Small Business Server network using the program of the computer to connect, you must run the operating system Windows XP with SP2 or later, or the Windows Vista operating system. Not all editions of Windows Vista and Windows XP are supported in the Windows SBS netowkr. Windows Vista Business, Windows Vista Enterprise, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Professional x 64 and Windows XP Tablet Edition are supported on the Windows SBS network. »
But I have connected to Windows 7 computers to the network. And I was told that Windows 8 should be able to connect. So is this something wrong with the configuration of the client computer, or do I need to tweak SBS 2008 so that it can help in this regard?
EnduringMike wrote:
Well, I've marked this as resolved, but it turns out that it is not.
Once I've upgraded to pro, I run the connect program and now I get the message that it failed because the PC does not meet the system's maximum operating requirements to run client Setup.
It gives a link to check for more information that goes to a page that does not exist at Microsoft.
How many people they have working there at Microsoft? They reach even the link between their software and their Web site correct?
So. I now have Pro 8.1. And still no connect to SBS 2008. Then guess?
You can follow these instructions to join the PC to your domain: http://www.tomsitpro.com/articles/how-to-join-windows-8.1-to-domain, 2 - 735.html

SBS 2008 backup automatic Wizard fails cannot configure the backup schedule
I need to install a new drive for backup for SBS 2008.
The new drive is 3 T. The backup requires 567G.
The Backup Wizard fails with the message "cannot configure the backup schedule.
I looked on the MS Support and the only link is related to the target being too small. Although does not here apply.
The log file indicates that the operation failed because "the critical volumes cannot be excluded", but I included C drive in its entirety. There is a system drive D, but it is not available in the backup configuration.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance

SBS 2008 STOP: c000021a [fatal system error]
I found myself, it's a pretty irritating position.
My SBS 2008 Server has failed and cause me a lot of pain in the process.
There was a fairly comprehensive backup plan in place, Acronis image (daily), picture Windows system (per day) and Bexec.
The last test DA we have worked well and I was able to restore the acronis on a virtual machine and start.
Now, we actually had an error that none of the backups work! All with the same error inside a virtual machine and a physical hardware code.
The error is:
Action taken:
Catering to VM
Load the SBS support to repair the system (it prompt for the password for the Admin user.) Didn't know that he was SBS with AD, we used a different account.)
Download offline NT password, select Admin and password empty
Load the SBS support to make the system repair, sfc scan & chckdsk
Do some reg settings so it does not restart when it BSOD (still can not managed to do a memory dump well.)
All returned without errors and fine.
A restart of the same mistake.
Tried all F8 options, all with the same error. Even safe mode!
Can anyone suggest me please a few alternatives to get it online so I can connect.
I had to reinstall the server from scratch so that it is up and running but some settings that I need to the virtual machine that I just thought that I would be able to restore from a previous backup.
Rob

SBS 2008 - Server 2008 site to site vpn problem.
Hi all
I have a box of SBS 2008 I want to add another server to the remote site (standard 2008). Currently, VPN works great on SBS and I can compose anywhere via the pptp network and join.
I added the RRAS branch again 2008 server role. Connection to the configured application, since VPN was already running on SBS, I just added to the request and the road. Both servers have user names Eric their numbering interfaces to, when I connect branch to SBS, he just connects in seconds, get IP address and routes are added, when I check the SBS it appears as inaccessible, when try to connect manually I either get error RRAS 0 or a pop up says the modem is already in use or not properly configured.
Grateful if someone can the advice that I've spent 2 days on this.
Thanx

SBS 2008 compatibility with OS windows XP/7
If the server at my workplace computer is running windows SBS 2008, and we have 2 clients running Windows XP Professional, I can configure three new customers with Windows 7. I'm not sure that the it guy who has implemented the network upward originally stated that any installation of computers in the network must run XP and could not be equipped with Windows 7. This system was the installation in July last year, and I am not interested in the purchase of new operating systems for existing customers of 2 and am not able to source XP for 3 additional guests I want to Setup. There will be compatibility problems with the configuration of computers with different OS, and they are all still will have the same functionality with respect to the initial configuration (IE still using the http://connect) and remote access
Your problem would be probably better suited to the Microsoft Technet forums, located at the:
http://social.technet.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/categories/
They are better directed at Windows Server and other professional level products, repost your problem it would give you better results.

Hi all
Application is a medical Client / Server using SQL in the database model. and resides on the SBS 2008 with XP Server and client computers.
Rather that to load the client on windows XP, it would not sense to simply run the application console using the Terminal Server services and configure the application to start an hour of connection on. Given that the application requires administrator rights to run, how can I assign admin right only on demand, so when they connect, they can use the application with the given admin rights but do not have access to the rest of the server or control?
Been awhile and a very little bit of rust, but I know it should be easy... losing sleep reading my series of the voume of support docs... :)
