Cannot use the fingerprint reader to connect to windows 7 64
I have registered my fingerprint in HP simplepass and for a while, Windows 7 64 was happy to let me sign in using my fingerprint. Some microsoft later updates and I just don't you the ability to slide my finger print more and need to type my password. Why is happening. I checked all my settings and everything is as it should be. As I said it worked fine on the first so I know my settings are correct.
Most often when a device is not it's because of a driver. Try reinstalling your.
It works for win 7 & 8

Question by using the fingerprint reader to connect to Windows 8 on Elitebook 2760p
Hey all. The fight currently with my 2760 p to use fingerprint for you the reader connect to Windows 8 x 64. I currently have all the other pieces of the puzzle installed, because I found in older subjects, but when at the login screen, sliding my finger does nothing and it only invites me to enter a password with no option for the fingerprint.
Installed...
(1) validity sensors WBF driver 4.3.100.0
(2) HP ProtectTools 8.0.2.1341 (applied the registry patch to get the install to actually work)
(3) HP SimplePass 6.0.100.252
It is a new installation of Windows, so no real applied changes.
I have my fingerprints stored in SimplePass and I can save to other sites. But, if I block my computer, Windows shows an icon of a keyboard with my username next to him, said to "Verify password" and a place to enter it and another option at the bottom of the login with SpareKey screen. Sliding my finger does nothing. I checked in SimplePass and tick the option to connect to Windows with the reader. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help you can provide.
A ditch all that HP bloatware and restart. Uninstall everything.
All that I have a clean installation of Windows 8 Pro x 64 was to get the starter edition of Authentec Truestuie. I don't have an elitebook not sure if it's the same manufacturer, but you can get it on the manufacturer's website. -
Portege M700: Cannot use the fingerprint reader after update for Firefox 3
Hey
I have a Toshiba Portege M700 Tablet and with the truesuite software on a fingerprint reader and password Bank plugin.
It's all working fine and dandy with firefox 2.
Then last night I went and updated for firefox 3 and now I can't log in to Web sites with the fingerprint reader. No error messages, nothing. I can say that the truesuite or Bank password software is not detecting firefox 3. I've updated to the latest version that I could find, 2.0.2.0.
I found this thread by telling me the process of update of firefox it breaks and I should completely uninstall and reinstall firefox, which I did.
That didn't fix it.Then I completely uninstalled and reinstalled truesuite. That did not help either.
Its still broken.Anyone know a workaround or a way to fix this, or should I wait and see if there is an updated version of the password database? (I find it unlikely because this isn't really a standard program)
Hello
I think that the new Firefox version is not fully tested and possibly it s not completely compatible with the 3rd party applications.
I remember the same problems with older versions of firefox. Finally, it has been resolved. But why you don t use internet explore? As far as I know the fingerprint works without a problem
In any case if you want to continue to use the browser firefox 3 so I think that the only solution is to wait for an update.

EliteBook 8460p: using the fingerprint reader to log on Windows 10.
I recently picked up this 2nd hand computer laptop for use at home. I was happy to find that it has built in fingerprint reader that will keep my children on my account. This is recognised by Windows 10 on the device as a biometric device manager / Validity Sensor. However, I have no options to activate Windows Hello on my account and found nothing on the Windows support on with Microsoft to respond to my problem. The supplied fingerprint reader will get an updated driver that gets 10 Windows to recognize as supported by Windows Hello? Is it already work? Do I need additional software that the laptop was bought only with its OEM Windows 7 Pro OS installed and nothing else. Any help would be appreciated.

It did not help:
-From the bios feature works...
-Ability to select in the application "" connection of fingerprints digital use instead of power ".
-Update the BIOS
-Updated FingerPrint Manager Pro
-The placement of the bios 'Legacy First' or 'Legacy' onlyI am grateful for the support.
You cannot use the fingerprint reader as a replacement for the power button more.
The former supplier the Authentec fingerprint readers, was bought by Apple some time ago. As a result, Apple holds the respective patents.

Configuration required to use the fingerprint reader
I have a dv6tQE delivered later this week and I'm looking into how to configure the fingerprint reader. I'm interested the FR for projecting my fingerprint with the plethora of passwords that I now keep in a Word document hyperlink. Too much memorize. I'm not interested in the security feature that requires a logon or a fingerprint whenever I start my computer. I usually push on the button and then perform several tasks to something else and come back to the computer, wait until it is ready to roll without the need for an additional activity on my part.
The User Guide PDF downloaded States in part:
"In order to use the fingerprint reader, you must configure a user account with a password on the computer. This account allows you to log on to your computer with a simple touch of the designated finger. Alternatively, you can use the fingerprint reader to fill in the password on Web sites and other programs that require a login. See using the fingerprint software for instructions. After you have created your identity from fingerprints, you can configure single sign-on... »
It will be necessary for me to set up a user account for my login or can I skip that part and use the NOF for passwords only? In addition, there is a link to the FR software guide?

I have a Pavilion dv7 - 6157cl laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. A second person may also use the player? If this is not the case, the password feature can be used by someone else? I need a complete and detailed instruction for the fingerprint reader. What player software that is mentioned in the PDF manual? No software is given. I don't know where to start.
Thank you
Here's a thread on this, the first part is on the installation, which you can skip, you should already have installed everything, so move on to the configuration section.

Cannot use the fingerprints of the Bios boot drive
Hello!
I installed Vista Ultimate x 64 on my Lenovo X 200 Tablet.
But there is a strange problem with the fingerprint reader. In Windows, the RPF works very well.
But I also want to use from the bios. While I do not enter a password. So I activated this functions of fingerprints on windows software and added a few fingerprints to start.
But it does not work. The X 200 is the only conventional system for password! No message on fingerprints.
Predesktop authentication is enabled in the Bios.Is there something else I could do?
The x 64 Version of F´ingerprint Reader can't define that. If I installed a 32-bit Version and the Version 32 bits of the fingerprint reader. I am able to get the RPF from the Bios.
So problem solved

Where can I use the fingerprint reader?
Hello.
Is it possible to use the Thinkpad T61 fingerprint reader, is to remind the user password in windows XP applications.
As Mozilla Firefox saved passwords Manager or some other programs "who need password"?
You can use Lenovo Thinkvantage Password manager to remember your passwords and then use fingerprints to log.
Password Manager can support HTML based Windows Internet Explorer, Firefox, Windows standard applications. It can not support Java-based Web pages.

Windows Sign-on does not accept the fingerprint reader
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad W510 running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. It comes with the Lenovo Fingerprint Reader software, and I activated it and registered fingerprints. When I lock the computer, I am able to use the instead of the password fingerprint reader to log on. Also, when I put the computer into standby mode, I am also able to open a session with the fingerprint reader. However, when I first turn on the computer, the windows logon screen does not allow me to use the fingerprint reader, but only accepts a password. No idea what could be wrong?
The problem is resolved. It was a misunderstanding on my part. By clicking on the "Change user" button, I could see the scanner as a connection option. Once I used once the fingerprint reader, which then became the default user and now presents itself whenever I connect. If I want to return to the use of the password, I can do so using the button 'change user '.

Compaq nc6400 upgraded xp to win 7 can not get the fingerprint reader to work
I have upgraded xp to win 7, as we will have to do, but can't get the fingerprint reader to work. It appears in the devices that there is one on the machine. I downloaded the drivers for Vista, but they got nowhere. Read in many places as Vista drivers will work but I seem to need more than that. Any clue? Thank you!!!
Hello:
Yes, for Vista fingerprint reader driver is the only one available, but you must install the software HP protect Manager security tools for Windows 7 from the model which succeeded the nc6400, who was the 6910p.
You must also use the W7 driver quick launch buttons.
If your computer laptop bluetooth, you need the W7 bluetooth software and driver...
And you can use the version of W7 HP wireless assistant software.
You can also read the manual tools security protect manager, so you can understand how to use the fingerprint reader.
