Cannot use, uninstall or reinstall HP Support Assistant

I had a crash of hard disk and reinstalled from a backup, but the restoration was not complete. Things work pretty well, but not 100%. The key is that my HP Support Assistant PC health does not work and I can't uninstall or reinstall. They are not in the list of installed programs. I get the message that there is already a version of the wizard for help on my drive, whether the download don't reinstall or update.

I have a HP Pavilion (all-in-One) MS-225 with Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit. It's a year and a half, is no longer under warranty. Is there a way out of this dilemma? Thank you!

Frank

UPDATE: I just got the update to run, but it gave me this error message:

"HP Support Assistant Application Update / your system does not satisfy the minimum requirements for this patch." / However was cancelled. (1602).

Arniceous,

Thank you for your response and suggestions.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally got it works as follows: first of all, I downloaded and installed the latest update for HP Update. Then I renamed the folder HP Support Assistant (didn't do any deletion again) by adding ".old" to it and retries, download and install the latest update for the wizard. This time, he worked and installed!

So at this stage my PC is OK again and back to where it was before the crash of hard/restore disk. All HP now works as it should.

I hope this can help you and others in the effort to repair that do not have HP help or a fix for.

  • Reinstall HP Support Assistant

My PC is a HP G5350UK running Windows 7 64 bit

I'm trying to re instal HP Support Assistant, but so far have been unsuccessful.

I downloaded and tried to run the sp44304.exe and the sp58919.exe that have been suggested in various links HPSA.  I'm prompted to replace the files I do, but then nothing happens.  Apparently I should be invited to check the box 'Yes' and allow the program to restart the computer.  Unfortunately, nothing happens.

    Anyone has any ideas please?

    Hello

    You are welcome

I still believe that this problem is caused by a process of elimination is incomplete for a previous version of HPSA, or a corruption of the responsible registry keys from the configuration of the installation.

    Try the following.

Download the installer for the latest version of HPSA again from the following link and save it in your downloads folder.

    HP Support Assistant - 58919.

When you are done, open your Downloads folder and as before, right click on the installer, select Extract 7 - zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  Open the new folder sp58919 snippet and see you another installer called Setup - this right click and select new, 7-zip, select extract files and then click Ok.  Open the newly extracted file of configuration, made the titled low file right click ask to UninstallHPSA (with a size of 112Kb ) and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the uninstall routine.

You will see probably not visual sign that this forum works, so leave the PC alone for a good 10 minutes - once completed, restart the computer.

When windows has reloaded, your download all installers HPSA and extract clear Folders folder, and then download the following version and save it in your downloads folder.

    HP Support Assistant - 44304.

One when you're done, open your download folder, click with the right button on the Setup, select Extract 7 - zip, select the files and then click Ok.  Open the new snippet sp44304 folder, right-click the low file entitled demand for UninstallHPTCA (with a size of 406KB ) and select 'Run as administrator' to start the uninstall routine.

Yet once, you certainly will not see visual sign that this forum works, so leave the PC alone for a good 10 minutes - once completed, restart the computer again.

Let windows load completely, then see if you can use Recovery Manager to reinstall your original version of HP Support Assistant - the procedure to use the Recovery Manager to reinstall the drivers and software is detailed in the document at the link below.

    Recovery Manager - Windows 7

This version installs Ok and if so, he runs well at the launch?

  • Impossible to reinstall HP Support Assistant HP Support 600.

I uninstalled HP Support Assistance after he kept the opening with errors.  When I tried to reinstall the program I got the message, "system does not meet the minimum requirements. Update has been canceled (1602)

    Hello

The error you describe is usually the result of the corrupted registry keys, then try the following.

Unless you still have the installer, download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - download links are to the bottom of the page - and Save the installer to your download folder.

    http://h18021.www1.HP.com/helpandsupport/HP-support-Assistant.html

Then, if you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7 - Zip on the link below.

    http://www.7-zip.org/

With 7 - Zip installed, right-click the HPSA installer you download earlier, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files and then click Ok.  The newly extracted folder, right-click on UninstallHPTCA and select "Run as Administrator" - you may well see no progress this uninstallation attempt, then leave the PC slowing down for a good 10 minutes before restarting it.

Open your download folder and delete previously "extract file" so that you end up with just the HPSA Installer.

Now run Microsoft 'Fixit' on the link to install the new version of HPSA.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

Now it installs Ok and if so, it works properly?

  • Cannot use uninstall CS6, error code 1

I'm in a very frustrating situation. My copy of CS6 Web and Design premium has stopped working due to download carelessly a portable version of photoshop on a HDD in case, and makes somehow all my creative suite software deadweight. I get an error (see list above) code that says that I have to uninstall and reinstall the programs, but it's totally impossible A) I tried to restart, run the cleanup tool, run license recovery tool and even uninstall the traditional way, but it did not move and B) I don't have the original license because I originally got my license of a teacher who currently cannot install it again. At this point, I want to just delete every single trace of adobe software and start again with the creative cloud, but it's ALSO impossible for obvious reasons. What can I do exactly?

I am running Windows 10 (x 64) (build 10586) on my laptop HP ENVY TS of m7 with HP Support Assistant 8.1.40.3. I'm used to seeing the blue Support Assistant of circular background of question mark icon located on the right side of my taskbar Windows in the notification area, just to the right of the up-carat for 'display the icons '.

However, about 2 days ago the Assistant to support automatically downloaded and installed the latest version of himself. The '? It pinned icon Assistant decision-making support on the left side of my taskbar with icons for Windows Store File Explorer and other icons open programs.

I tried just dragging the icon Wizard help to the right of the Notification area of the taskbar, but that cannot be done. Please give me detailed instructions on how to get back the icon wizard helps to where I'm used to seeing.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello

Another option, you may need to check is the following.

    Launch of HP Support Assistant.

Click the gable of parameters to the upper right.

In the following Panel, make sure the "show an icon in the taskbar" entry (see the option highlighted in the image below) is checked - if not, click in the box enter a tick, then click on the "Save" button.

    Kind regards

    Hey Stellatundra,

I recommend to go ahead with the installation, and if you need drivers, you should be able to look in the Device Manager and tell that were installed on your Pc.  Your Pc might have are upgrades that were available but were not installed on your Pc.
