Cannot view my 2nd partition (drive D)...
I had 2 partitions on the same hard drive... but after that I installed a new copy of Windows 7 Professional, it won't let me access the files on the D drive. I think it has something to do with security features. I have important files in this player, is it possible that I can access. Please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you.
Yes, I solved the problem. I didn't go to the chaned and security settings of the owner. I guess he was still considering my old Vista administrator as the owner and will not provide him access.
OS x 10.8.5

After a long time, a message says that it na not create partition
of course now I have even more afraid of putting at level m...
is there something wrong with my HARD drive? If she wrote on the site of data?
(OS X 10.8 was a clean install after a failed upgrade)
in any case, is it possible to divide this drive? (clean install of El Cap would be nice but is not worth it because it might be too slow for me - early 2009 iMac)
How much free disk space do you have?
I had 2 partitions on the hard disk the same... but after separate 60 GB unallocated space of 2nd partition (drive D) and after rebooting I don't see my 2nd partition. After that I tried to change the drive letter and path, but it displays the following message 'the operation did not complete because the disk management console view is not updated. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. "If the problem persists close the disk management console, then restart disk or restart the calculation Managerr. I don't want to lose the data.
· Have you installed a third-party program like Partition magic on the computer?
Try these methods further and check if it helps:
Try to use diskpart to assign a drive letter to the disk #0 Partition #1.
(a) click Start Orb > type diskpart
(b) click right diskpart in the above results > click run as administrator right
(c) once diskpart load type list volume, press enter
You should notice that you can see your partition you use for your data, it should not not have a drive letter assigned to it.
(d) type select volume 6 (replace 6 with the number of the volume assigned to the partition in question)
(e) type assign letter Z (replace Z with the letter you want to assign)
When you look in the computer, you should be able to see your score.
I also suggest that you run the Microsoft fixit tool and check if that helps:
Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
You can follow the steps in troubleshooting section below and check if it helps:
I partitioned the standard hard drive of my system by partition magic. He managed. But this time my drive external hard was also plugged in the computer.
After you restart the system, I discovered that partition 1 my disk external drive of 500 GB is accessible but 2nd 500 GB partition is not displayed in my computer. In disk management it shows but have no details and no letter. I tried to rename the letter, but got an error on disk management.
I have seen other threads associated with this problem as using DISKPART or uninstall the driver but no help. Because after you have reinstalled the driver 1 partiton is visible but not another.

What should I do to access my 2nd partition?
I found a temporary solution to this problem. I resized the partition unknown by reducing 1 GB
and he attributed the letter. It works fine now. But now that the partition of 1 GB is now displayed as unknown. My data was sure, my 2nd partition was not full.

I have a 1.5 to - 2 partitioned drive I need to change the size of the partition 2. I need to make a smaller partition 1 and 2 large partition.
I have place to decrease the partition 1, so that I can increase the partition 2.
First of all, I reduce the size of partition 1, but am I that reason... until what I click on "Apply" in the bottom right of the disk utility window, that computer still considers that this hard drive is partitioned with the sizes of origin? And so if I simply decrease the size of the score graphically in the interface, then click on partition 2, I see the text: this partition cannot be resized.
So if I am wrong in this assumption, I must decrease partition 1 and apply. Then I can select partition 2 and increase it with the newly created space in partition 1?
If she is correct, when I click on apply in the first stage, the newly created space turn into another partition the partition between 1 and 2? And the next step would be to combine this small new partition in the original partition 2? Here are a few screenshots to better explain.
NOTE: Yes, I know that I need these 2 partitions to backup before applying resizing.
If I can reduce the size of partition 1, whose interface seems to help, I guess that with the good implementation, I should be able to expand the partition 2.
I use Lion 10.7.5 on a Mac Pro.
If I can reduce the size of partition 1, whose interface seems to help, I guess that with the good implementation, I should be able to expand the partition 2.
No, it doesn't work like that.
You can reduce the size of partition 1, but you will not be able to reclaim that space for the 2nd partition. You need to remove the 2nd partition, and then add it back.
But beware, your free space currently for your 10.6.8 partition is marginal, in order to reduce the size of this partition does not seem a good idea. You may no longer be able to start from such a unit.
One of the disadvantages of partitioning is that you can not redistribute their sizes without redoing the readers.
Overall, you have not enough free space on this drive.
I am trying to install windows 7 on my emachines T6520 in with a single hard drive. so far, I can get to where it says select the partition. so I select the single partition it and it gives me this error "cannot create a new partition system or locate an install" ive tried EVERYTHING. I have only plugged in the USB is a MI to help install windows from. This time the boot priority is hard disk and then cd rom. ive google search for days and nothing helps. I have the windows installation disc, but whenever I boot from the disc it loads the configuration files and then right until he finishes it says "unexpected error" and I can reboot or turn off the computer, that's why im starting on a USB key. Ive also tried DBAN and no luck. Help, please!

help would be appreciated because I've had this problem for awhile now
There are some compatibility issues between the last Flash drive and a few Add-ons Firefox or settings. Could see you if anything in this article helps you: 11.3 Flash does not load video in Firefox.
You can also consider turning off new protected in Flash 11.3 mode, since this feature is currently being debugged. See this article from Adobe support under the heading of 'Last resort': Adobe Forums: how to fix protected Flash Player for Firefox mode?
About the update, which the Adobe gives you usually is just a small installer program that you run that downloads the actual plugin. I recommend having closed all Firefox by doing the updates to Adobe so that none of the files are ignored in the process.
At least one user has noticed a problem where Adobe installed two versions of Flash-by-side; the other oldest had to be removed manually. See the flash works fine in firefox 14 but I can not update.
My C drive is divided into 2 partitions in Vista Premium fine and everything ok.
2nd HARD drive causes computer crash with the following error message:
0 x 00008086
I reinstalled everything wiped disks and now the drive will not format
I read it could be a SATA problem but in the ability to change BIOS settings are not accessible.
My missed day guarantee until it does not so I can t get it done about it.
Before that happened, as I used to be able to use it for a while, then something relaxing blue screen, sometimes the laptop doesn t even see s it.
Can anyone throw any light on the problem?
Have you tried the Drive Fitness Test as suggested Akuma? You can check the HARD drive for bad sectors.
CHKDSK isn't identical to the DFT and it can t detect errors on the HARD drive. Please run DFT to determine if the problem is the HDD, or not associated with.
Hi, I have the HP Pavilion dv7t-4000 CTO Select Edition Entertainment Notebook (product # WV703AV). It can accommodate two hard disks but only came with one. What would need to be able to install the second hard drive? I need just a connecting cable or I also need to caddy or kit?
Also, would I get a solid state? My laptop that would support or should I just use regular?
Currently, I am on Windows 7 64-bit. I have a 500 GB hd (which came to be partitioned with hp tools/restoration).
Help with what I would need to a conventional hard drive or ssd would be greatly appreciated. I tried to look through messages of others first, but could not find anything specific to my model. Thanks for your time!
The only place I know where you can get a 2nd hard drive kit is that provider.
Your laptop should be able to work with an SSD, but I can't guarantee it.
I don't really see any point in adding an SSD unless you make the main hard drive, and to do this, you must get an SSD of the same size as the original 500 GB hard drive to use the recovery discs to reinstall the operating system.
Most people get smaller SSD and they use the W7 product key to activate a simple installation of W7.
If you can read all 25 characters of your product key for windows 7, you can do your own installation media and allows to install Windows on a smaller than 500 GB SSD.
If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.
Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.
Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.
Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.
The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.
Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.
Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.
Pavilion dv7-3060us computer has a 2nd hard drive Bay. On 2 flags of 17.3 inches previous, I installed a 2nd HDD. This quad core Pavilion is much thinner than the previous pavilions; the underside of the computer has also a centre piece in the form of "T" in the Panel without screw - is a pop on the access panel or the entire bottom panel needs to be removed through the perimeter screws? Still trying to find a manual showing this particular case - no luck so far. The downloaded HP
Manual for the previous dv-7 is for the case of style like unless I missed something.
Install an SSD soon - would like to have all the "stuff" to install a 2nd drive hard if possible. Anything I should be aware of before perform this procedure? Don't really want to remove all the merits of the case.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.

I appreciate the help. The Caddy is the same that I used before (on the 1st dv7) the 2nd dv7 used the direct taking of 90 degrees into the adapter. I have both of these me more allotted a 500 GB HD. All I need pickup is the SSD.
The "T" sign on the back of my case has no screws - but I can see the 3 component tabs snap at the top of the "T" through the small crack on the case. These are shown on the exploded view of repair. I'm projecting from the 'snap-out' Panel down on the vertical leg of the "T".
Once again; Thank you
After Vista update cannot find the external hard drive, AutoPlay does not work, and new unusable disk appears under my computer. Also I can't 'manage' my computer because I do not have "permissions". I tried a fix he 45071 and it did nothing.
Applications, (Norton and McAfee) (including free evaluation versions are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.) If NIS has been installed for 3 years, you have NIS update at least once and maybe twice (e.g., NIS 2009 > NIS 2010 > NIS 2011).
[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline. If a step said to reboot, reboot.]
1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe
2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).
3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) viaControl Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).
4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.
NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!
5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.
6. do a clean install of NIS 2011 (using your product ID, if need be) & reboot. CF. http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN
NOTE: Do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.
8. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.
9. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run that set it by DEFAULT and modes and AGGRESSIVE.
10. restart once again & test.
NB: Installation KB971029 disables AutoRun/autoplay on USB connected but not 'brilliant media' external drives (i.e., CDs & DVDs). See http://blogs.technet.com/b/msrc/archive/2011/02/08/deeper-insight-into-the-security-advisory-967940-update.aspx
full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not list the updates installed in Add/Remove Programs (Windows XP) or installed updates.

I have a HP Pavilion Elite HPE 510 t. I try to add a 2nd hard drive. The 2nd hard drive is a Toshiba 1 TB 7200 RPM 6G.
Accordingly, the 1st HDD was plugged on SATA2 and the CD-ROM was connected to SATA1. It worked and it started ok.
I added the 2nd hard drive, plugged on SATA3, went into the BIOS Setup and it has not even see SATA3.
I then plugged the CD-ROM on SATA3 and the 2nd hard disk on SATA1 and lit, is went into the BIOS config amd saw 2 hard drive and a hard disk 1, it did not see the Wired CD SATA3. Then I tried SATA4-nothing.
I have advanced and partitioned and formatted the hard drive into two partitions 2 and recovered the data from a backup on each partition.
It works very well, with both devices, but nothing I have connect SATA3 or SATA4 is recognized by the BIOS.
Can someone tell me why? is there a jumper on the system board or a setting in the BIOS that turns on SATA3 and SATA4?
Are my bad SATA3, SATA4?
I've seen the specifications for hard disks. He is said to use a 1 to 3G 7200 RPM. IS the fact that I use a 1 to 7200 RPM 6 G the cause? Even with the hard drive 2 disconnected and hard drive 1 SATA1 or 2 and SATA3 or 4 CD, it does not yet recognize the CD-ROM drive.
I tried to pass autour SATA data cables, but it has not changed. Anyone know why the system will not recognized the connected CD-ROM SATA3 or SATA4?
Or whatever it is well plugged SATA3 or 4? I can run both hard drives, but then I don't have a CD-ROM drive, or I can run a hard drive and a CD-ROM drive, but not 2nd hard drive.
Any suggestions? I know choose IDE used to have to set a date for the cable, but I don't think that SATA requires that.
Am I wrong?
I bought a $70 ServerSupply.com motherboard, succeeded him and it solved the problem.
Someone here even suggested, but me. I forgot what email I signed up for this site.
Now officially logged as me.
This laptop has an option for a 2nd HARD drive.
I installed 2nd HARD drive and the laptop does not light.
When I remove the 2nd HARD drive it is normal again.
I'm guesing that a special BIOS change is needed to allow the reader to 2nd.
Anyone know what is the solution?
Thanks in advance for your help.
I think it was just plugging in the cable needed to be reinstalled.
I confirmed that the drve was good with an external cable.
I made the stop while holding down the SHIFT key.
Once it did not work.
Then I took out the cable and put it back making sure to he went in the port exactly how is HDD - 1.
This time, he appeared in the windows Device Manager. I already made the partition, format, assign the drive letter.
Everything is good to go now. I'm glad, that I have a lot of storage space on my laptop.
Thanks for the suggestions, have a nice day.
Hi, I have 2 80 GB HDD (SATA - 1 + 2 - ATA). whenever I turn on my system (XP SP3) then chkdsk runs automaticallyand checks my 2nd HARD drive and shows many errors like "replacement Windows a bad cluster in file:...". "like that.and it takes a lot of time around 3 to 4 hours. He then shows the windows xp desktop, but the problem is MY SECOND HARD drive IS NOT SHOWN in EXPLORER, IT IS GONE.Can someone help me, I have my imp data on my 2nd HARD drive. How do I return there without losing any data or file?
1. don't you make changes on the computer before this problem?
2 - is an internal hard drive?
Step 1: Check if hard driver is getting detected in Device Manager and send back the same.
By using Device Manager
Step 2: Check if this disc is getting detected in disk management.
If the hard drive is getting detected in disk management and there is no drive letter assigned, and assign a drive letter and check.

Step 3: To disable chkdsk at startup, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, run and type regedit.
b.Navigate to the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
c. change the BootExecute entry: autocheck autochk *.
d. exit your registry database.
