Cannot wake hiberate mode?

I use XP with SP3, when I run a batch of files containing the following key, XP cannot wake up in itself, but when I manually XP hiberate mode by pressing H for closing down, XP can wake up all planning tasks.

Someone has suggestions on what evil on suite code for my XP?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Powrprof.dll, SetSuspendState %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe Hibernate

  • Satellite L300-01:00 - DVD in PIO mode, cannot activate DMA mode

    Hello everyone,

Recently, I have a laptop Toshiba L300-01:00 and I have a little problem with the DVD-ROM drive. Maybe some of you can help me with their knowledge. So here's the problem:
The DVD runs very slow, I guess in the PIO mode. I can't switch to DMA mode because there is no options.

On ' Device Manager / IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers ' options are a single - 'Intel(r) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller' where you cannot activate DMA mode.

I have WinXP SP2, SATA and all the other drivers installed.

So my question is, how can I enable the DMA mode for the DVD player?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I have a laptop with installed U400 XP OS and I the primary IDE channel entry into the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

Main channel that you can switch to the PIO or DMA is available in IE.

Now the question is; How do you install XP on your laptop?
Usually, the SATA mode must be set to AHCI in the BIOS, and you must include the SATA drivers to install Win XP on this laptop.

Then a primary IDE channel should if poster in devices and the PIO or DMA settings manager should be there.

  • USB drive unplugged when wake up mode 'sleep'

I use windows vista business version for my 6400 Dell insporon laptop.

When my laptop wakes mode ensures, in the wondows login procedure, it seems he disconnected from usb drives to not communicate with windows at this time. One of the USB (simpletech 2 TB) was not connected (it loses the drive letter in windows Explorer). Two other brand always connected.

If I recycle the power of this USB, it connects back.

Simple question: where can I change once and for all so that I don't have to recycle that drive usb every time when you wake up mode 'sleep' (she becomes very annoying since this USB does not start button / stop)? Personally, I think it's microsft windows 'default login procedure question' no usb drive manufacturer bug (contact usb drive tech support).

    Hello

The problem is perhaps due to several parameters being off, and you can actually have
go through the list again. It could be you have a hardware problem with

  • Satellite U300 falls down and cannot wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

I got a Satellite U300 a few days and I get in trouble, when the laptop goes into sleep mode.
The thing is that when he goes to sleep, the screen turns off but the light stays on (blue), instead of flashing with an orange color.

It is not possible to wake the portable computer, and the only solution is to restart the computer.

I tried the different possibilities to enter sleep mode, and I get the problem mainly when the computer is in high-performance Vista and when you press the stop button in the quick menu.

I know Vista gives a certain a lot of problems, but I didn't know anyone here who face the same problem.
Should I send the laptop back to technical support?

    Thanks in advance,

I had the opportunity to work a little with several laptops from Toshiba, and one of them was Satellite U300. After a brief check of the basic functions for laptop I can say with certainty that switch between mode and standby/hibernation mode work well and I didn't notice any problems.

I really don't understand what is wrong with that, but please do:
-If you want to switch to standby mode, choose option using the button START.
-Wait a bit and I hope after a few seconds, the laptop will change automatically in standby mode (blinking amber LED)
    -Close the cover
-Wait a moment opened the lid and press the power button
I really hope that your laptop will start correctly and you will be able to use the OS again.

    Good bye

  • Computer automatically "wake up" and unable to wake up mode standby when left idle

original title: screen saver does not work, the computer automatically "wake up". Computer regularly become inactive and cannot be stopped! Forced to pull the plug.

We have a Vostro 200 with windows vista. The computer still works very well except for two major problems. The first: the screen saver does not work. The screen goes black minute before the screen saver, but when it needs to switch to screen saver mode, the fan in the computer is a thud and the screen turns back on. The second: If the computer is not alone for extended periods of time (hours to end upward in a weird semi-off state). The monitor becomes completely black (the power light goes from green to orange) and the power of the Tower light flashes continuously. If we move the mouse or the keyboard, nothing happens. We are not able to easily to "wake up" the computer. If we hold the power button down for 10 seconds, the round ends. If restart us the breath fan aggressively, but the screen will not display anything. The only way to get the computer working again is to turn off the switch that powers the computer for ~ 1 min and then put it back in again once. After a time abnormally long start-up, the computer goes to the exact same State it was when he went to the black start (the documents are always opened ect.). Does anyone have a similar experience? I am baffled and could use some help. Thank you!

    Hello

I would guess that you have a hardware driver that is not fully compatible with the sleep mode function. I would check with the manufacturer and system of the various devices for driver updates (do not use Windows Update to do this). If this fails to solve the problem, you can turn off "sleep" (Control Panel/Power Options, check the settings of the engine at idle) or reduce the State of "s" that the system tries to get into the BIOS system (if available).

  • Monitor and system used "wake up" mode ensures

I tell my story so that others may not feel as if they were alone in their perdicament. My story starts like this:

I bought the m9520f and and w2408h last Saturday and have been enjoying the PC immensely. I really like HP and wouldn't not consider purchasing another manufacturer - even with the troubles, I'm going to wear. Everything worked well until Sunday night, when I put the system into "sleep" mode and returns an hour later. I had put the system into "sleep" before but was returned to him several minutes later. But this time after leaving the PC in "sleep" for an hour, the system will not turn back. The lights on the PC itself would come on (from the green 'sleep' to the 'blue'), but the monitor would refuse to wake up. I called support and even they could not understand it. We have tried to unplug the pc and all its ropes, but nothing worked. I hooked up the monitor to my other pc, and it worked well, so I knew there was nothing wrong with the monitor. Earlier Saturday the PC would not recognize Monitor driver then maybe had something to do with it. Hmmm. When I disconect the PC monitor would come and it lights on the keyboard would be as well. When I plugged the monitor of the PC turns on but keyboard lights wouldn't. Strange. The monitor would immediately switch to "standby" mode as soon as I plugged the HDMI or VGA - in fact just before he would monitor OSD would be inidcate that niether the HDMI or VGA were connected (which they were physically). So I knew that the monitor was not to recognize the conection. Communication between the monitor and the PC must have been the cause. After about 45 times to turn on and off Alternatively the monitor and the PC, the monitor has FINALLY acknowledged that there was a link and my PC on - WHEWWW. I was afraid that I would have to discuss with the people at Circuit City for an Exchange. I still don't know what happened, but all I know is that I will NEVER put this monitor or PC in sleep in the future. Here are the symptoms that I lived in case someone else there is in the same perdicament. It seems to me that this can be cured with a software update - but I'm not smart enough to Koe for sure:

Tip #1: The PC would not recognize Monitor driver

Tip #2: This happened after leaving the monitor and the PC in 'sleep' for more than 30 minutes

Tip #3: The PC lights (clear blue power, stable, flashing green light on the back and the dvd player opens) but the rest of the monitor to sleep

Tip #4: The monitor refuses to acknowledge that it is "connected".

CUE #5: The PC "blockages" accordingly and refuses to switch (kind of caught between being on and "sleepy")

Tip #6: When the PC finally trun on the driver and the software supplied with the monitor that he would not recognize Saturday had risen from PC (hmm - I chose to not reinstall)

My recommendation: do NOT try to install the driver provided with your monitor and DO NOT put your system into "sleep" for more than 15 minutes.

My system: Pavilion Elite m9520f with monitor w2408h 24 inches.

    LAST UPDATED:

After several weeks with the computer, I found the solution. I did through trial an error. First of all, let me say that I don't have the option of returning the PC to the retailer, because it was Circuit City and they had to stop their activities - so I couldn't do that. Here is the solution for those of you are having problems with your PC do not 'wake up' sleep: (Please note that some documents below may be repetative and you could read what follows before in my previous updates - I just wat to summarize below for some people)

    1) to update drivers (ALL)

    (2) update the BIOS (very Important!) on the site of HP

    (3) HP has a problem with USB devices (external drives, USB mouse, anything with USB and Yes, that includes your monitor). Which MAY have something to do with the "bus controller" driver who refuses to this day to be installed on the 'updates '. I was not able to install this darn update, so I gave up. I know that many of you have had trouble with that as well so I'll leave for another topic on the forum of "solve". All I have now is that I've resigned myself to the fact that it will never be installed and I'm fine with it. Anyway, my main concern was the problem of "sleep". Getting back to what I was saying, the HP has a problem with the USB devices. In other words, all USB DEVICES MUST BE REMOVED before you go into sleep - if you do not, then the system will NOT "wake up". What I've learned, is to remove all USB devices before entering the sleep and my system will go to sleep and wake up without problems - for me, it was just a matter of having disconnected and reconnected once the system was awake. Of course, those with a USB mouse, I recommend that you get a mouse not USB. Fortunately also my HP w2408h monitor is connected through a HDMI cable so I don't have the problem of having to disconnect and reconnect it. The manual of the suggested w2408h connect it by HDMI AND USB but only connect it via HDMI and it works perfectly for me - DO NOT CONNECT THE USB cable on the screen because then you will have the problem of sleep.

    Resolved solution!

(now, if I can get my gosh darn controller BUS to install and my blu - ray to panic game then that would be nice - arghhhhhhh!)

Hope my experience helped the people there!

  • set wake-up mode for office vista so vista laptop can print

I need to position alarm mode for the vista for computer desktop vista laptop can print! Thank you!

There's not much of a way to do this.  There are programs of "wake on lan" who can wake up a sleeping computer, but they require hard wire Ethernet connection and special software to do (that your printer is probably not the installer to do).

Unfortunately, you will need to go slap a button to wake the computer from office before you can print. Or disable the saving of sleep.

  • HP laptop (Vista Home Premium) won't wake up mode 'sleep'

My HP Pavilion dv6910us laptop will follow the recommended power options and enter "sleep mode", as you want it or made-to-order... among the STARTUP options or by closing the lid.  However, once he is in "sleep" mode it won't wake up.  The LED on the power button flashes and the indicator on the chassis... but by pressing, open the lid or by touching the keys is useless... he wakes.

To restart the laptop, I have to disconnect power, remove the battery and then connect the power/insert battery.  Needless to say, it causes Windows down and declare an unexpected shutdown during the power upward.  I did the research many resolutions... currently, my best solution is to change the power options so that when plugged the laptop doesn't go to sleep and then if I disconnect I have to shut it down... Rather, I don't have to go through this hassle all the time.

I've followed many troubleshooting procedures... Updated BIOS update... Updated graphics driver... I even tried a "clean boot"... no additional services except for Windows services and has always had the same problem.

    Please... Help!

  • Cannot Wake-on-LAN none of the 790s OptiPlex

We have several years of OptiPlex 790 in our environment. They all have the Intel 82579LM Gigabit NIC installed. When these devices are turned off, the led "Good link" on the card NETWORK does not, and I can't wake the machines via WOL.

Here's what I did on all machines:

    • Consistent Wake-on-LAN in the BIOS
    • Tried every revision of BIOS from A05 to A11 (confirming that WOL is set to enabled after every update)
    • Installed the latest drivers for NETWORK card (both on the site of Dell and the Intel site OEM drivers)
    • With version 11.15.16.0 of the OEM Intel NIC driver installed, activated "Wake on Magic Packet", "Wake on Magic Packet of power off of the State", "Wake on Link" and "Wake on Pattern Match" in the power management tab.
All other OptiPlex models in our environment are waking up very well (including machines in the same subnet and physical location as these years 790). Anyone run into this or found a solution? Thank you.

If hibernation mode is enable WOL will not work. Must disable Deep Sleep in the BIOS if you want to use WOL
