Cannot wake up afer screen turned off by Power Saver on Tecra M5

Tecra M5; XP SP2.
Disabled screen saver.
Toshiba power saver set to turn off the monitor after 10 minutes.

Once off, I can't get the monitor to turn back.
I tried different combinations of keys fn and function, but nothing helped.

Only solution seems to be to send Hibernate (off button is set to hibernate).
Screen comes on to say hibernation and works fine after a reboot. Not a critical but very irritating error

Great Robin! Thanks for the link.

  • App background stops when the screen turns off

I wrote an Android app with a Service that receives events from the LocationService and the accelerometer and always try now to wear 10 BlackBerry. Tests on a Z10 STL100-2 10.1.0.4181

Once the unit has remained unchanged for some time, the location listener is not registered, in order to save energy, and re-recorded a trip again.

Don't worry, this can be disabled via the visible activity. But it must continue with the last State (start/stop) after the reboot.

I even magically figured out how to add additional permissions for the manifest of BAR: "_sys_android_autostart_service" and "run_when_backgrounded".

But as soon as the screen turns off, my application stops working. No location or accelerometer case being received. Turn on the display again, everything back to normal.

It is meant to be a question about the accelerometer, but I could not find in the tracker.

    So my questions are:

-Is it possible to port Android continue to receive events location when the screen is off?

-Is it possible to port Android continue to receive events of accelerometer when the screen is off?

-Will my service to continue to operate if more than 8 Apps began after mine? (And the user did not hit the close button)

-The "headless" 10.2 mode help? (I currently only test with 10.1, because my service provider has not yet unlocked 10.2)

-Finally, this would be possible with a native application? (I could port the port iOS... lots of fun...)

Thank you very much for your help!

PS: If it's of any interest: I use the plugin V1.6.1 Eclipse/ADT to package and install the bar.

As reported here as well (and I'm sure in other places)

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Android-runtime-development/accelerometer-turns-off-when-Scre...

I'm working on a deal in the next version, similar to what we're doing with location requests (in other words, activate us the background mode if your app acquires a partial wake lock).

    Edit:

    So my questions are:

-Is it possible to port Android continue to receive events location when the screen is off?

(Yes, but you must hold a wake lock).

-Is it possible to port Android continue to receive events of accelerometer when the screen is off?

(For the moment, no, but I'll change that, so it behaves like location.)  Mind you, this could be used to work on old revisions of the software until the native sensors team added a background of sensor mode which is disabled by default and must be explicitly enabled).

-Will my service to continue to operate if more than 8 Apps began after mine? (And the user did not hit the close button)

(There are a lot of thing that matters if your Services happens to run or not, which is not limited to, but includes the number of applications already running and the status of the device memory).

-The "headless" 10.2 mode help? (I currently only test with 10.1, because my service provider has not yet unlocked 10.2)

(No, it's a native thing.  Your application is already technically without head)

  • Access code is lost as soon as the screen turns off

When I turn my wrist after that my Apple Watch screen exploded, I need to enter the access code. I turn on the wrist, the screen turns off, I turn back, screen lights up, I need to re-enter the password. And so on and so forth. The watch does not maintain the code.

I am white white, is not dense hairs on my wrist, no tattoos and I wear the watch very well on my skin.

The funny thing is: it is a replacement watch, I got today. The other had the same problem, but this is probably because the bottom of the watch with the sensors fell, must have damaged the sensor cable. But this one is brand new.

    Hello

Make sure the wrist detection is enabled:

    • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > detection of wrist - turn on.
  • Equium A200 - screen turns off

Hi, I'm having a problem with my Toshiba laptop, the screen turns off randomly and the computer still seems to work, but when I use a VGA cable to connect to a TV it does not display anything.

Here are pictures of when it fires
http://Tinypic.com/r/vr9d7d/7 yellow on the disc tray is turned on
http://Tinypic.com/r/2d9poya/7 that the front turned on lights and computer sounds like its operation.

This led me to believe it's a hardware problem, but when I turn on the computer in Mode safe it never turns off. I also got the fixed ups this year because the screen was losing power.

Can anyone help I can't really afford a new laptop at the moment

    Hi David,

It's a little confusing, it doesn't always happen when you shut down the computer, or just sometimes?
What do you do to get rid of this? Always remove the battery and the AC adapter or what exactly?

I think that it s a hardware malfunction, usually has nothing to do with the software. What you can try is a BIOS update from the official website of Toshiba.

  • The AT200 tablet screen turns off

    Help...

I had my AT200 for a little more than 24 hours and the sceen went now empty, but the Tablet is still on, screen is blank, but on and the unit is completely insensitive.

Can not switch it out... don't know what to do now?

    Really disappointed :-(

    Can someone help, please?

    Thank you

    Hi Catherine,
This happened to my Tablet too early. But after that in the past few weeks, my Tablet ran completely without this problem occurring again (after installing a few fix, see below). So there is hope.

Certainly your tablet is at a standstill. A software error has occurred which even turned off the power button.
There are also no way for a hard reset on the AT200 (like removing the battery).

You can try in any case to press the longest power button (5-10 seconds) maybe it helps.

    My solution is:
Let your only Tablet for a few hours. Important: Do not plug the power supply!

After a few hours (I think that mine took about 12 to 20 h) battery will be (nearly) exhausted, and I hope that the material will turn off the tablet at a standstill to save the battery against damage.

At any time, you can try the power switch. I have the Tablet is at a standstill should not react. If the Tablet is turned off, the power led should continue for a second, then turns off. (Because of the battery it won't turn)

Then you can connect the power supply. The power led should go on now, which indicates that the Tablet battery is charged.

After a few minutes you should be able (I hope) back on the shelf. (Leave the power supply connected)

    It worked for me.

Now, of course, an Internet connection is present (active Wifi).
Open the App 'Toshiba Service Station', updates, and then install the hotfix for 3.2.1. (I guess that the Tablet has not already the 4.0? Mine doesn't).

If you get no reaction against the ignition switch after waiting a longer time. Alternatively, you can connect the power supply for a trial. If the power led lights which can be a good indicator that the Tablet is alive again.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A200 - screen turns off without reason

I have a Satellite A200-E530D on Windows Vista Home Premium. For a month, I had something strange happening on my computer, shortly after the start, the screen turns off. without good reason! the only option I have is hard to system boot and everythings... Although a few times after the restart he still went.

I tried to upgrade to the last poster of drivers (I have an Nvidia Geforce Graphics card 7300 Go with 128 MB of VRAM)

Another weird thing, Vista SP1 does not install on my machine. tried to uninstall my Anti virus, but that did not help either one.

Can anyone shed light on my dark screen?

    Hello!

You have the same problem on an external monitor?
I m not sure if it s a display problem, mother or software card

Do you have what display driver installed? You have downloaded the driver from the Web from Toshiba site?

  • Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE - screen turns off automatically

    Hi friends,

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100 - 784 PSAANE with windows visa Home Basic edition.
Now for 15-20 days I am facing a strange problem. The screen of the laptop emits a sometimes (not necessarily every time) and then when the frequency increases the display turns off automatically!
Then I must Hibernate or he put laptop to sleep to find again the screen... Seriously, I don't understand the problem.

    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Julie,.

It sounds as if something is harming your graphics driver causing the display to turn off. If the problem occurs only when you use certain applications or only started after installing a new application you may need to restore your system to a restore point before new applications have been installed. As a test, you can try to start your system in safe mode and see if the problem persists.

I also recommend that you re-install your graphics drivers to see if it improves the problem.

Other possibilities are that your graphics chip is a failure or overheating causing this problem in which case you have to return your laptop to a Service approved for the additional diagnostic agent.

My last thought is that you may have a problem with the inverter FL (the component that provides the lighting of your LCD screen). Check, when the screen turns off, if you can still see a residual image on the screen. If yes then the FL inverter is definitely at fault.

    Kind regards

When I start the PC (BIOS is set to default) when using battery everything works fine.
When I unplug the power cord, the screen turns off. I plug it back, the screen is still off!

FN + F5 works, but does not help.
    FN + F1 don't see it's something.

    Great!
    Thanks for the comments.

  • Equium A20 fell and the screen turns off always

Hi, I was using my satellite A20 long (4 years). Never had any problems. Recently he fell and the screen turns off always.

I can see the toshiba logo and the windows logo also when starting, and even I can enter the BIOS and change the boot order too... but as soon as windows load screen is black. I don't understand

    Anyone with the solution?

    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

    > but as soon as windows load screen is black. I can t understand
This means that the display output has accidentally changed to an external.

Have you checked if something would be visible on the second external monitor?
    Select this check box.

In addition I advise to use the FN + F5 keys to check if you can switch the output back to the internal display.

  • Satellite A210 - 17L - screen turns off

    Hello people,

I have a similar problem to [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=61255&tstart=15], screen turns off by itself randomly, but backlight remains lit and laptop always seems to work (judging by fan). This started after upgrading Vista to Windows 7 (new installation), there was no problem before. I tried to update the display driver, first ATI Catalyst, then Toshiba official one, the customer pays less often, but still doesn't work, it's nice embarrassing ;) It occurs regardless if the laptop is used or just slowed down and is not caused by overheating or saving energy, also cell is generally connected with mounted battery.

I have the last opportunity to go and update the BIOS, but I'm in fear of bricking the thing, so he would try as a last resort.

    Any idea guys?

    Thank you

    Hello

There is an easy way to solve this problem: connect an external monitor and check what happens. If everything is ok on the external monitor installation (Windows) and internal monitor are ok, the problem must be internal monitor itself.

If it s the monitor itself it s inverter FL, LCD cable or LCD itself. That s is not easy to say on this virtual path for your laptop needs to be checked to an authorized service provider. Guys can make an accurate diagnosis.

  • Gigaframe L81 - after 2-3 seconds, the LCD screen turns off

    Hello!

I think, I missconfigurated my camera... I put the automatic light (auto light) options, then the LCD is turned off. OK, its light of day here, but how can she Cook?

And - perhaps because of the thing said? -its LCD screen turns off every time, when I push the power on button. I'm tired of using the reset switch, but she has - at least, in the LCD - no effect.

Device is reset, then lights up the screen, I see him starting, I can touch control "buttons" on the right side (I can see the blue lights), but after only 2-3 seconds, the LCD display turns off again.

Although I can do anything on my camera - attach PC files, copy or dele (ordered from Windows) etc. I just don't see anything in the LCD screen.

    What's wrong?

If it still does not work after resetting it, then it may be a hardware problem.

I think that you will need for repair/replacement.

  • Satellite 1800 - 752S - the screen turns off

    Hello world.
    I have a satellite 1800 - 752S.
Since an ew months ithas a weird problem: the screen turns off. If I press and release the button the lid on what it is, but after that turns off again quickly. OT goes off sometimes immediately, sometimes after a few minutes, or even hours. Sometimes it provides be when I run out of battery and bothers me on AC, sometimes against. It works fine, after I turn sleep or hibernation several times, and after a reboot, it bothers me. I've updated his BIOS for the lates on this site, which would not help. I guess it's a hardware problem, because it's the same problem under Linux, and I tried to install different versions of drivers and windows (not only the one of the recovery CD). Anyone have the same problem before. Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you very much
    Roman

    Hello

I think you're right, it's a hardware problem. But to be sure, try connecting an external monitor. If it works without problem while laptops, screen turns off, then it must be a hardware failure.

I guess it's a problem with the FL inverter. You have to give your machine a service partner Toshiba for repair.

    Good bye

  • Anyway continue Voiceover if the screen turns off?

    Hello world

I use Voiceover to read eBooks for me, but the voice-over goes out once the auto lock turns off the display.

Is it possible to do the Voiceover to continue even if the screen turns off?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Dionysus17,

AFAIK the only way to solve this problem is to disable the auto-lock on your iPad. To do this, go to settings > General > lock and from here you can choose when you want to stay for before your locks iPad screen.

    Hope this helps,

    Aaron

  • Screen turns off when the Satellite A45-S250 is moved in the direction of less

    Hello.

I have a satellite A45-S250. I had no previous problem with this machine. However, when the computer is running too long, or it is moved in the slightest way the screen turns off. I don't even have to type very slowly - or I lose the screen.

But also, as I have said - sometimes I won't even be near the computer and the screen turns off. When I lose the screen if the light shines on it - I can see, it's always VERY fair Sun. Generally, it will come if I use the FN + F5 button.

I don't know if it is a screen problem or a connection problem. It occurs with increased frequency. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

From your description, I assume FL converter is defective and must be replaced. FL inverter is responsible for the background light and the typical symptom for faulty FL inverter is dimming or blinking display.
