Canon MG5420 of color instead of black and white printing

Yes, I read all the similar messages.  Yes, I have a Mac and follow the instructions to use TextEdit to get a printed sample to ensure that preferences are shown in black and white. In the sample of TextEdit, I was able to get a black and white document.

I have used this printer for 1 1/2 years now without a problem.  Just a few weeks ago, when I print a document to be fair, black and white, it's printing in color or color MIXED WITH black.  Often, it is green with a bit of black or yellow and a bit of black.  When I scan a document or print a copy of a document directly on the Board, it is black and white.  When I print from my computer with Word for Mac or a PDF from Adobe, even if I make sure that the settings are NOT 'default' and the black and white option is selected, prints out in several colors.  I've made sure there's all the new ink in the cartridges, and none are the low toner level.  What to do now?

Woohoo, Canon technical support with the phone number listed in this thread told me through it all.  It turns out that the head of the nozzle must be cleaned.  There is a small white arrow pointing up at the top of the home screen.  It is not a decoration, as I thought, but if you click on the arrow pointing UPWARDS on the printer controls that access you the parameters Menu.  From there, you can print a focus in color.  In my case, one color appears not at all, even though I had just replaced the color toner in the printer.  It said the tech that I needed to do a cleaning on the menu.  We did it twice and now it's good to go, good as new.  Thank you!

  • Why my PRO - 100 black-and-white prints have a color tint?

I print out on the printer PIXMA Pro-100 and sometimes, for no apparent reason (?), my black and white prints have a color tint (generally a "reddish brown"), then when printing to new... same settings print, same... the same impression will be fine, neutral with no tint at all.

    No idea why?

Also (perhaps related?) I do not understand why Photo-Cyan and Magenta cartridges are exhausted when I'm NOT print color, but only black and white.  Am I missing something?  When you set up for printing, I always make sure that the 'Black and white photography' feature is selected in settings dialog "Quick Installation".  This ensures not only the black and gray inks are used as long as I'm not "toning"?  In other words... ONLY black and gray inks are used, if not the impression that is supposed to be a black and white printing neutral? Yet once... I missed something?

    FOR INFO:

I print on Canon Pro radiance papers and more glossy.

Under 'Options - color management', I selected:

(color management) Photoshop Elements handles colors

    (image area) Adobe RGB (1998)

(the printer profile) Canon PRO-100 1/2 Luster Photo Paper Pro

    (rendering mode) Perceptual

The most important thing is the paper you choose to print on.  Find this first release. Any Epson printer which uses UltraChrome K3 inks will do a better job with B & W as a Pro-(anything).  But Epson suffers from obstruction more far do, Canon Pro-100 problems.

If you print a lot is not too big of a problem, but if you print once a week or once a month to forget it.  Go with Canon that clogged very rarely, if ever.

Try to find the right paper.  It will make everything better.  Call the Red River or Canson and ask them to recommend a book.  Red River will work with you and they know the Pro - 100 inside and outside.

  • How to determine the real colors in a black and white photo?

I don't know if I'm in the right section, but I wonder if it is possible to use an Adobe program to restore real colors in a black and white photo? I want to add color by imagining or guess; I need determine the real colors. This may not even be possible, but if this is the case, please tell me what I can use.

    Thank you.

That's where the art comes into play when they colorize old movies.

A lady wearing a pretty dress: is it greeen or purple?  It seems gray.

A baby comes home from the new baby clothes cute hospital: pink or blue?  They have light gray air.

It's a nice tie school the guys to wear: use the colors wrong on the bands, and it is in a different school.  But they are nothing more than various shades of gray.

If there is one thing missing in a B & W photograph, every vestige of the color information.   All you have is gray.   You may need TO determine the real colors, but without a color photo to use as a reference image, you are out of luck.

How can I change the color to black and white printing?

    Hello Fludium

According to your printer software, there are two different methods to set the levels of gray and black ink only.

    1. Inside Printer preferences, you switch to the features tab. Here, you should see grayscale in the lower left corner. When grayscale is selected, you can use black ink only quality. Then press ok.
    2. In the printer preferences, you can click the Advanced button. You should see a "print in grayscale" option is set to 'Off', put in levels of gray or black ink only and press ok.

Like with a Mac when you open the print dialog box depending on the application, there may be a link at the bottom left of the dialog print system. Here, you should see a predefined option. There is a quick project to black ink only preset. Save this preset and it should become the default option.

  • Force the Canon C5030 black and white printing

    Hello:

I'm trying to force my Canon C5030 to print only black and white, even if it is sent color impressions. We don't use a print server, and if I change the default settings on each machine, co-workers can still change for color printing. Is there a way to force it through the printer settings?

    Michael

    Hello

I don't know what setting on the device could prevent color printing. Maybe something in the service mode.

I suggest using the PCL6 driver generic Canon and set it to 'Black & White [A3]' in the device settings in the printer properties. In this way, you can provide all the features as options, drawers, etc. and the finish color option is not available.

But if you don't have a print server, no doubt users will be able to install a driver capable of color themselves on their computer.

  • Photosmart C310: What models allow a black-and-white printing with low color cartridge?

I'm looking to replace my old HP Photosmart Premium all-in-One printer, because it works with reliability more. My biggest problems with this model are:
    1.)
I can't print in black and white when one or more of the color cartridges must be replaced
    2.)
The black ink cartridges work only sporadically. I lost a lot of money on the black ink cartridges that do not work, and I tried all the techniques of troubleshooting many times and no solution.
    3.)
I hate having to spend $100 + to replace the cartridges. It's such a scam!

I have teenagers who need the ability to print the homework on a very regular basis and in a timely. I can't spend another frantic morning, trying to get a printer (with new cartridges) to print!

I hope someone with a knowledge of the range of HP products can explain different types of all-in-one printers available to me... and which would be best suited to my needs. Ideally, I'd like to find one that allows to print in black and white ONLY when the color cartridges are low or exhausted - if there is such a thing?

Thanks in advance for any info, tips or advice anyone could offer!

    Hi @katvit74,

While I don't have any specific purchasing advice @katvit74, I can offer a few troubleshooting tips to see whether your printer is at the end of his life.

You're not the first to express frustration at having to have impoverished the cartridges replaced to continue printing. Personally, I suggest to use grayscale options, when printing so that the colored inks not so quickly adjust upward. Frankly, after reading your post again, I feel that you don't have want to solve your Photosmart Premium.

I value your time and do not want you to feel like I don't have. That being said, we will encircle your initial request. Maybe you would rather a system printer for 2 ink that the cartridge supports single mode, or maybe a Laserjet that prints black only. The printer you choose should be based on your needs. According to me, the best way I can help is to offer you the tool product Advisor.

  • How can I get my photos from Windows Gallery to view and print in color, not just black and white?

How can I get my Windows Gallery pictures to view and print in chiputa, not just black and white?

    Hi Petergrossman,

Welcome to the Microsoft Vista answers Forum!

I need few details about the question you posted.

    * What are the name and model of the printer?
    * You receive driver updates for your printer through Windows Update?
    * The printer prints the other applications in color?

In the meantime, try the following steps.

    1. try to print the default pictures in Windows Photo Gallery and check if you get a printing color.

    2. try to uninstall the printer driver and reinstall it.

Also check the setting of the color of the printer. Go to printer settings and make sure that you have selected the option to color.

To print a picture, follow these steps: -.

If you have a printer connected to your computer, you can make prints of digital photos. The quality of your photos depends on several factors, including the type of printer paper, ink and the settings of the printer of your choice. You can control many of these settings when you print the picture, but keep in mind that the overall quality and resolution of the digital picture you are printing will affect your final result.

    1. open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking on the Start button, all programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.

    2. click on the image you want to print.

To select more than one picture, hold down the CTRL key while you click the pictures that you want to select.

    3. on the toolbar, click on print and then click on print.

    4. in the print pictures dialog box, select the printer, paper size, qualite quality print, style print and number of copies to print.

    5. When you have finished choosing how you want to print your photos, click Print to start printing.

Choose printing options follow these steps: -.

Before you send a print job to the printer, decide if you want to print all or part of the document or Web page. You may, for example, annotate the pages to print or select a part of a document before sending it to the printer.

Here are common printing tasks to consider:

    1. to print that a hollering part of a document or a file, make a note of the page numbers for each page you want to print.
    2. If you want to print part of a page or a Web page only, select the content to print before printing.
    3. If you want to print a specific page, click anywhere on the page before choosing the print options for the document.
    4. the page that you clicked becomes the current page and you can print it by selecting this option in the print dialog box.

After deciding what to print, choose how the print copies should look, and then select a printer.
    Use print preview

To see what the print will look like before you print it, open the document in a program that offers a preview before printing. Print preview is generally located in the file menu of a program. You should be able to get an overview of each page of the document. In some programs, you can choose print in preview mode options and then print directly from the preview. In other programs, you will need to close the preview, change the document or your printer settings and print.

If you preview or print a document, and it does not appear the way that you intended, you will need to change the document or change your print options. For example, if one part of your document fits on the printed page, you may need to reduce the font size, reduce the margins, or change the page layout and then try to print again.

  • Convert a color photo to black and white to color with key frames

Im sure must be simple enough, but I could not understand. I have a color image I want to gradually appear first as black and white and then more return its original colours that make the transition to produce a nice flashy effect we hope

I tried to apply the black-and-white effect, but I only get a picture of BW and can't see how to do the image colored again by keyframes. Ive google the issue and youtubed it too but have not found what I was looking for (Hi Bono!)

    ID appreciate any help, thanks

Only one way to do it: If you apply the effect (TLS) color Balance, you would be able to the saturation property keyframe/expression.

  • Anyone know how to make a splash of color to a black and white photo?

Good so I scoured internet and I still have not found an answer to this question. All I'm trying to do is make one part of the image of color and the rest always black and white. The original photo I have is black and white and I would like to make this very clear: I don't want the entire image colorized. Yes, there is someone who really knows how to do this?

This is a very common technique, because it turns out, and there are tons of ways to get there.

Starting with brute force and back, create an empty layer above your B & W layer. Set the blending Mode of the layer of the Virgin of color.

Choose the color that you want to work, take a brush (B) and go to town. The blending mode to show through values (grey levels). You can paint with colors you like on this mixed layer.

If you use only a single color, but it may change from time to time (say by brand or something), to re-learn a layer of white, use a color fill layer (layer > new fill layer > solid color). In this case, you would add a layer of fill color, fill the black mask, and then paint with white on the mask to reveal the color.

If you want to keep the original in one place color, replace the white layer with the color version and use the masking technique just described.

Let me know if you need help on any of these details and I'll try to find some specific tutorials for you online.
