  My Canon Pixma MP480 won't print on my computer, but print on other computers that do not have Vista. I installed the driver several times more directly from the cd that came with it and directly from canon website. I am registered under an account to administer. It is directly connected via a USB port. The strange thing is, it's an all-in-one printer, scanner, copier, and it allows me to scan images on my computer.   Have you try to download the latest driver for your printer from Canon?
  Make sure that it is the Vista x 64 bit driver when you download and install.  Remove the old driver completely and restart the computer before the upgrade to the new driver.

  This is a new PROBLEM.  Never had this problem before.

  I'm under Windows8, 64 bit.

  I am suddenly unable to print all labels postage to NORMAL size = 100%.

  He coinstantsly everything shrinks to half size no matter what I change settings.

  I've looked through the software and the printer settings and may NOT know what is the cause of the problem.

  The assumption is that MS Updates caused the problem.
  The resolution has been going to the Canon USA site.
  The very recent updated drivers was available for my printer.
  Download and install the updated drivers solves the problem.

  If this is a problem with the printer driver, you don't need to pay anything.

  You must uninstall the printer drivers and related software (commercial printer) first and then install the driver from http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/printers_multifunction/photo_all_in_one_inkjet_printers/pixma_mg3220#DriversAndSoftware

  First uninstall, the Start button > type devices and printers > open devices and printers. Select your printer, right click and select remove device.

  Then go to programs and features in Control Panel and uninstall the printer utilities.

  Then download the drivers on link and install.

  If the problem is not resolved, you may need to contact Canon support. But in this case, it is not likely to be a driver problem, but rather a problem with the printer itself.

  I have just printed/copied paperwork this week!

  It absolutely, positively, not light.

  I bought this last semester, which would have been around January or February of this year.

  It has not been moved, the circuit on the Strip, to which it is connected has not been triggered, everything must be in perfect working condition.

  How can I go about it? Reset somehow? Send it for repair? Do a dance and sacrificing a Nikon?

  I unplug for a bit more than two minutes and did not return.

  Now, at the beginning when I was doing the instiallation, he says that he has failed. But I turned the printer and turn it on again (hah...) after failure and we are back online and print. So I don't know if the firmware updated succeeded. But the printer works again and that's all that matters for now!

  -Did you change on your computer before the show?

  I recommend to restart the print spooler service and check if that helps.

  I see an error message about "spooler" problems

• Canon MP280 inkjet do not print, but will scan. Possibly caused by Avast

  A few days ago, I changed the ink in my Canon printer. When I went to print a document, all of a sudden my Avast Anti Virus started sounding "threat detected - don't worry, we have set." I saw in the popup of Avast box that was connected to my printer, but before I had time to think to click on it to see what the problem was, it was gone again.

  Immediately after, I try to print only resulted in almost nothing happens. The dialog box print which usually appears (to show the ink levels and documents in print etc) burst, but for literally a mili second and then his party once again. Nothing appears in my impression (QC) I cannot print web pages, documents, images and video - no matter what.

  I guessed it was to do with avast, but I found nothing at all in avast associated with my printer. I tried to disable Avast and all firewall, but still nothing. I uninstalled Avast, still nothing. I reinstalled my printer, still nothing. Tried all the usual troubleshooting and diagnosis/repair printer, but never any anomaly. Scanning still works fine.

  Anyone know what I can do? Hopefully, its driving me crazy! :(

  2. You get the error message? If Yes, what is the exact and complete error message you get?

  The problem may occur if the printer driver has corrupted or unstable after safety analysis. So, I would suggest trying the following steps and check if the problem persists.

  I use Win7 and had to download the driver for the Pixma - but have made my laptop still does not recognize the printer. The "instructions" say install Win7 driver then use the installation disc. Surely, this will overwrite just the Win7 driver. Have tried all ways but cannot get this printer to work. Oh for the good old days when you come to plug the printer in and it worked fine!

  You use the canon installation disc and only connect the printer when installing said.

  If the printer is not detected at this stage, either the cable is defective (unlikely) or there is a problem with the PC, IE in the Device Manager there are all the yellow warnings?

  BTW just pluging a printer in has never been the right way to install

  There are for this. Go to the website and download the driver you need.
