Canon T1I Flash not fireing

Looked on many sites, but unfortunately could not find a way to fix my flash, someone at - it ideas?

If think another flash of the camera is fixed it will allow you to use the pop-up flash.  This is actually a problem well known and it can happen with many cameras.

The hoof on top of your camera has a couple of rails that hold an external flash.  In these tracks are a couple of leaf springs to provide only a moderate about voltage.

But hidden under one of these Springs is a little micro switch.  When you drag an external flash in the hoof, it pushes down on this switch, and that's how the camera knows that you have attached an external flash.   Over time, this switch can possibly get dirty and jam for the camera thinks there is a flash attached... even when there isn't.  When that happens, he will refuse pop-up built-in flash because he thought it would crash in the external flash (even if there is no external flash).

Make sure that the spring is able to emerge and you work the spindle is able to arise again.  A small blade screwdriver flat jewelers can do the trick.  Also, it can help to use one or two drops of denatured alcohol to dissolve any dirt which may be this interference.  Do NOT use any type of "oil" because it'll just be a magnet to dust and the problem will return.  Denatured alcohol, on the other hand, evaporates, so it will be completely dry after fix it you.

My Canon 6 d not focus or flash in ' Live view '.  I have a canon 430ex II and an E - ttl flash with a sync for the function E - ttl cable.  The camera to simulate the action of the shutter, but no picture is taken.  How can I overcome this problem.

From time to time, after trying to take several pictures, it will begin to work, but usually isn't.

    Hey Shadowcat.

    Thanks for posting.

It seems that the AF method is set in fast Mode.  When the device is set for Live View shooting, there are different methods of AF that can be set.  In fast Mode, the device uses the AF sensor dedicated to focus when you press the shutter button halfway.

The image on the LCD is stopped while the camera tries to focus because the shutter closes and the mirror falls on the image sensor.  It may seem as if the camera is taken a picture, but this isn't, it focuses only.  No flash is triggered during this process either.  Continue to hold the shutter halfway button until the focus is reached, how the image will be back on the LCD screen.  Then you can press the shutter button the rest of the way down to take the picture.  The flash fires and the image will be saved.

  • Import of the 'show preview' device does not work for RAW (Canon T1i/500 d)

    Hello

Not sure if anyone else has seen this.  I just got a canon T1i (500 d for you Europeans).  When I connect the camera to the computer and select Import device and select "Preview" in the import window, only JPEG images to display thumbnails.  All my RAW images appear as grey areas.  It is the first digital SLR, I've ever owned, and the first time I am really using lightroom.  It's killing my workflow plans, as I ususally upload images into folders and appoint, by category.  Without seeing the thumbnails, it is impossible to know which category what images belong to.

Anywone have ideas?  This happens with all RAW images on all cameras?  Is this a problem T1i?

    Thank you.

    w0den

As John said, use a card reader for added speed, data security and flexibility. However, if you use a direct connection to your camera under windows, your camera must be in mass storage (called PC connection menu canons USB) mode. Some Canon DSLRs do not have a mass storage mode (Canon booh!) and you'll see never seen in the Lightroom Import dialog box.

  • Canon T1i and Speedlite 580EX off camera use for

I have a T1i and 580EX (not 580EX II) flash. I would like to use the flash on the camera. Would need other devices (trigger, transmitter)? If not, then could you give me the guide the way in which it is defined. Thanks in advance.

The 580EX can works as a Canon E - TTL wireless (optical line-of-sight) master or slave flash.  You can use a commander of on-camera flash or get another able to work as a master or slave flash.  A few hot flashes like the 430EX II cannot function as a 'slave' (non-master).  The 580's can be.

The bult - in flash on a T1i will not trigger a slave Canon E - TTL remote.  I think the T3i was the first of the rebel line to achieve this functionality.

You can use triggers to 3rd party... optical or radio.  Some of them are extremely cheap, but do not have E - TTL.  The end part 3 higher units that manage the E - TTL are quite expensive (Skirball mentioned the brand of POCKETWIZARD (English) which has a very good reputation... but is not cheap.  )

POCKETWIZARD (English) has a problem of reliability with Canon 580EX II units (do not know if it would have the same problem with a 580EX II).  The real problem is that when you do E - TTL, there's a pre-Flash and certain communications made before the actual shooting takes place (it's very fast-), but when the preflash fires, the 580EX II was generating enough RF interference that the PocketWizards could not communicate reliably and the flash would not be triggered as expected.  There were a few attempts to create RFI shielding and I even heard of services that change the guts of the flash to reduce the interference (which would, of course, canceled warranty.)

  • Canon T1i with PE7 and Windows 7

Just got a computer brand new (HP); Windows 7, 8 Gig of RAM, video card of 1 gig and PE7.

My video clips come from a Canon T1i (almost all 1280 * 720 30 fps, but some might be 1920 * 1080 20 fps).  They are. MOV files.

I created one minute 11 video with probably 100 clips.  After that the video was about 2-3 minutes, I started to have some memory problems.  Windows 7, to his credit, has some of the friendliest accident that I've ever seen.  Has no brick.  any kind of said I had a problem and close. He opened immediately and I could continue editting.  As long as I continued to record things, I never lost a large part of an accident.

    HOWEVER...

When I try to export the video, it hangs at about 7000/24000.

I've already fired my virtual memory of 8Gig (selected system) to about 20 gig.

I read things on the conversion of the clips from. MOV DV - AVI, but it looks like I have to rebuild the entire video. In addition, I am concerned about the loss of the HD quality.

How can I make this work?  Or, is it best PC software for video editing of this camera?

    Dave

Cameras MOV files are not in a format that will edit without problems with the EP, this is why it is always advisable to first convert them.

You can use Windows Movie Maker for that.

If you have work in progress in the EP, you could try to export to DV - AVI PE.

This may or may not work.

If so, this will save you having to re - editing work you've already done...

  • 6 d flash sync problem. Flash not pertaining to the body? Firmware problem? User error?

I was shooting my 6 d today in the Aviary. I think I was in TV mode. My Canon speedlite 320EX. I had been shooting with the flash but turned on. The shutter was set at 1/400th. ISO has been, I know, yet the value of the last room, I was, which was dark, also is at 3200 ISO.

All the birds represented were whole animals actually; no half-birds were nowhere to be seen.

In any case, the camera could not reduce the shutter on the camera's maximum sync speed (1/180) as you expect it to do. As a result, the flash was clearly out of sync with the shutter.

In addition, the metadata says "flash not fire not'.»» But obviously he did fire.

This could be a firmware issue? Bad camera? I forget some obvious user error?

Assuming that flash & camera is 100% compatible (new models of organs aren't always happy with older strobes) AND based on the few problems that I had with my 1Ds2 & 580 EX maybe it's that the flash is not as far forward in the hot shoe as possible, or even if it is it does not connections PERFECT on all 5 terminals. I had this problem a few times & are looking for now it. If I do not get the result that I'm waiting on my test shots (to check exposure), I move & re adjust until I get the right result.

  • Getting started with my Canon T1i

I just bought for me a Canon T1i (body only) for Christmas to use for astrophotography. I'm having some trouble getting started and am hoping to get answers from here.

First off the coast of British Colombia, I use this for astrophotography I did not buy a camera lens that I'm going to use my telescope than my goal. The problem I have is when I turn on the camera, all I see are the AF points in viewfinder and cannot understand how it get by. How do I see what I'm shooting in the viewfinder?

The dots you see are engraved on the glass... it is up in the roof of the camera (above the reflex mirror). Of course, you will not see in your images. Also, you will not see the when using Live View (which is how you will be using when astro-Imaging).

I would to astrophotography, either manufacturing or buying a 'development of Bahtinov mask. It is beyond the end of your telescope (like a scope) and slots cut in it. Point your telescope toward a moderately bright star and it will cause the star to launch peaks of diffraction in the form of an X with a vertical line in the middle. If the vertical spur crosses the middle of X then your scope is perfectly centered... that you focus to the vertical epi will move off center.

You can make your own by using this Web site to generate a model (you print, then superimpose on a more durable material... and cut out the interfacing): http://astrojargon.net/MaskGen.aspx

Alternatively, you can buy a pre-made. Many telescope vendors sell them. I use masks produced by Spike-A (they are metallic masks... they seemed to be made of anodized aluminum (or some light metals) approximately 1/8 "thick): http://spike-a.com

To focus, point a fairly bright star, put the Bahtinov mask on the front of the bezel, switch to the "live view" mode and mount the ISO and slow down the shutter speed (aircraft Canon photo "simulate" exhibition on the display live so you will get a brighter image by turning the crank up the exposure). Adjust the focus on the telescope until the diffraction peaks converge (you may need to enlarge the live view to 10 x to make this easy).

Once worn, remove the update mask, back the camera exposure settings you want to use for your object, point the telescope on this object (be careful not to touch the focus) and start collecting your images.

Don't worry 9 autofocus points, that you see when you look through the viewfinder.

If you do not have alreaady get you one, you may be interested to buy a power adapter for the camera (he slips in as a battery... but fled the current alternative). This is because exposure times a bit long for astrophotography, the combined number of lights, darks, flats, etc. you note will kill batteries fairly quickly. I have a 60Da which is designed specifically for astrophotography and Canon includes the adapter with the camera.

You also probably want to either a remote trigger cable (so you can use bulb mode) * or * you can use BackYard EOS to control the camera (BackYard EOS only works on Windows... I use a Mac, but I can run in a virtual machine). Also... If you happen to be on a Mac, the cloud cover (by Stark Labs) will control the camera for Imaging.

Finally... If you completely remove the IR filter, then you might want to watch the 'filter OWC' by Astronomik.com (OWC = Original White Balance). It is a filter that clips in the body and restores the IR filter so that you can use for ordinary terrestrial photography. The "catch" is that with the snap clip snap-in filter, you can not use any Canon EF - S lenses... only Canon EOS "EF" lenses can be used with the clip-in Astronomik filter. In the United States, OPTcorp.com sells.

Good luck and a sky cleared!

  • Canon T1i video import problem

Hi people. I'm trying to import clips from Canon T1i in PP CS5, but it either does not want to add audio, or he puts on the track Audio 4. My Canon 1 Dm 4 does not. What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Brian

.. .he wants no more to add audio, or he puts on the track Audio 4.

So, what is it? If this is the first, it's probably a codec that is not supported, but if it's the latter, it's because of the channel mappings. The audio in the clip is mono or stereo, and the first three audio tracks in the sequence are the opposite, so first creates a new track, which corresponds to the mapping of the source element. Note the small speaker in the track header icons; a speaker is mono, stereo means both speakers.

  • Canon printer does not connect via the IPP Protocol

I work in a company that sells printers offices/schools/etc. Yesterday, we received a call from a customer indicating that the Copier, we sold them connected not to a new computer they bought.

I went to the site and noticed that the computers in question were all purchased during 3 months and all loaded with Mac OS X El Capitan. Most was registered on 10.11.3, and some 10.11.2 and 10.11.1. All computers work turned Yosemite.

We receive a message somewhere in the sense of "Communication error. This printer may not be able to [print], you want to save it anyway? »

It was a cannon imageRUNNER Advanced C5235. The client declares that if he saved the printer, it would not be able to print, but would still see jams paper, messages and other statutes of the computer printer toner. After attempting to remove and reinstall the printer using the most recent driver available on the Canon Website, we received the same error, the customer received. We escalated it to Canon support, who asked us to choose LPD instead of the PPI for the Protocol, allowing the printer to you connect and start printing on all devices running El Capitan.

After further research, to my knowledge, the ISB is more recent and has more features that the LPD, although I couldn't find much on it so I was uncertain about the origins of these two protocols, except that they were introduced in the 1990s. I know it's kind of vague, but is better/more recent than PPI LPD? If so, great. Otherwise, is there a way to solve this problem and get computers that run El Capitan to connect correctly using IPP?

The problem here is that the driver Canon UFR2 or PS that was used on the Mac to print in ADVANCE of Canon C52xx does not support PPI. This is why you must use an alternative Protocol.

Note that it is possible to print to the C5255 using the PPI, but you need to use the Canon PPDs which means the copier must have the kit installed Postscript printer and you get not the pretty picture base views the pilot UFR2 and PS to give you.

Second point is that the Canon UFR2 and PS drivers, it is preferable to use HP Jetdirect-Socket to the LPD protocol. He sent larger packets and verifies the status of the target unit - LPD simply sends data to the fixed IP address so if the printer has a problem you don't get this information until you walk up to the photocopier.

I hope this helps. Answer if you need more information.

Sorry but there is nothing that you can do it alone. Traditional BIOS update (diskette) doesn't exist for this model of laptop. Sorry :(
