Captivate 8, then the button quiz

I created a questionnaire in 8 Captivate and everything is fine, except... the user answers a question, and then submit clicks. We told them if it's good or bad, then says to click on the next button. I don't want them to be able to click Next without answering the question. So in Quiz > settings, I put the required field to "respond to everything - the user must answer each question to continue.» It works, but it clears up the button next, so that it looks almost gray. I thought that perhaps he would return to the color after clicking on send, but it doesn't. It works as I want, but I don't want the next button to be the lightest color - I want the Green full as it is supposed to be. Any thoughts? I took the right approach? Other suggestions? Basically I want the user to have to answer the question before moving on to the next question. Thanks for your help!

For question slides, the next button has a dual functionality:

  1. During the Quiz, that it acts as a "Skip" button, do you want?
  2. It is necessary during the review, as it will act as a real button next in this situation (its has changed to the CP9 but you're always on CP8)

My recommendation is not to spoil with the usual design of the Question slides. Read about it in this article:

Question Question slides in Captivate - Captivate blog

You will see that my recommendation is to drag the next button under the clear button to make it invisible by the user during the Quiz.

This seems to be an answer to your question. The button depending on who you're talking about is the next default button you will find on Master quiz slides? The submission process is in two stages:

  1. User clicks on the button and feedback messages appear, in which is mentioned the next action (press on Y or click the slide); playhead remains paused
  2. When the user finished reading the comments, click on the slide (or based on Y) and head out of reading, the actions for Success/Last attempt (if attempts are exhausted) will be performed.

You see that by clicking on the next button is not included in this scenario at all.

  • Hide the button Quiz continue until all attempts

    Hello!

    I use 8 Captivate and have a quiz that allows 3 attempts failed. It's game to go to a slide if they pass and another if they fail. These work very well using the button continue.

    There is a cover and continue button.

    However, the shows continue button on the quiz results slide on the first and the second attempt. If the user clicks on this - the quiz is over - no attemtps allowed (no bar reading if it would make a difference).

    The instructions show on the failed attempts, "...". If the back button is displayed, click on it, if not, click on continue. »

    How to hide the continue button on the first 2 failed attempts?

    I was looking for articles and perhaps the answer is here - I'm just not reconstruct the it. I created an if/else statement to access the appropriate slide based on the % of quiz scored, but he then ignores the results of the quiz.

    I know that there is a way!

    Thank you for all the advice!

    SOLVED! I found the "more like this" in the pane right and found my answer - Phew! I think that some people do not put tags in their questions.

    In any case... RodWard had a suggestio nthat genius is so simple! Put on top button recovery button continue. SO the button continue DON'T show when replays are exhausted. Hallelujah!

  • Hide the button until all Conditions are met?

    Please help!  I am creating a forklift safety training module. There are 12 buttons on the first slide (see screenshot 1); However, only 11 are visible at the beginning of the slide.  The 12th button is a "continue" button that appears only after all the content slides (slides 2-12) were considered by the learner.  I used a conditional action to hide the button (something I learned from @Lilybiri) until all the conditions are met.

    The problem:

    The "Continue" button does not always appear once the content slides have been read.  I found I can do appear to ebb in each slide content, show the slides a few seconds more before returning to the main slide- which seems certain conditions which tells Captivate to display the button "continue".  Of course, I don't want the learners to face to the challenge of trying to understand why they cannot continue. I just want to visit the pages relating to each key to all conditions met.

    Screenshot 1: the initial screen (actions related to the change of color of button below)

    Screenshot 2: chronology of the page main interaction

    forklift_screenshot2.png

    Screenshot 3: conditional Action to display the button CONTINUE (created as a decision 2nd out of action of 'Transport').

    My expectation was that OnEnter, slide would be recognized as read and count for the condition that all 11 pages of content would be considered before that appear the continue"" button.  I set the time to s 3.0 (see screenshot above) on all content slides.  No transition, no effect.

    forklift_screenshot3.png

    Screenshot 4: each slide content is returned to the slide main interactivity by an OnSuccess: jump to the command of the slide.  Nothing special here.  I tried to reduce all the content slides to 1.5 s nothing works.

    Screenshot 5: an example of the page interaction BEFORE all the content slides were read and before 'CONTINUE' button appears (ignore the footer buttons; it was just me to experiment with styles of button).

    That's a lot, I know.  I wanted to cover the entire base.  I would appreciate your thoughts and your expertise.  Thank you in advance!

    How about what is probably very close to what you have already made... (After double checking all of your shares advanced for bugs)

    Each main menu button sets the variable 'consulted' 1, hides the active button, show visited button, then jump to the content. Alternatively, you can put the action on the close button for each slide as you did.

    Then in your main menu, you will have the conditional action on enter that verifies that each variable 'seen' is 1. If it is true, then it will show your button continue.

    I use this method with almost all of the modules that are non-linear. I use it to display a button quiz start, tab summary etc...

    To check your programming that I'm down in a text caption that has all the variables, you will have to look and make sure that they change to 1 as it should. As soon as something does not change probably you have found your problem. Also make sure that none of your actions changed to continue if you have accidentally deleted an object or something similar.

    Also BTW: If you want to increment a variable, you use the action "expression" rather than "assignment." If you keep just assign 1 to a variable, all that you will ever get is 1. example: If the variable = 7 and you assign 1 then now variable = 1.  If you use the variable expression variable = + 1 then you will be able to increment. Also be careful if a user visits an article more than once because it increments the new variable unless you have a control to see if the content has been seen before, and then past increment. Otherwise they could visit the same section 11 times and then have the button continue become visible.

  • Disable the first/previous/next/last buttons when the user clicks on the button "create".

    Hello

    I have a requirement to disable the first/previous/next/last buttons when the user clicks on the button "create". The must be enabled after the user clicks on the submit, and then the button "validate".

    Is this possible please?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Using BC4J in the model layer? If so, you might use an EL to the property of disabled button. Something like

    Replace in the binding attribute on your page (preferably the primary key of your form attribute).

  • Captivate background 8 audio buttons disappear after audio import

    Whenever I try to add background music to a project it is important to the audio and then this screen will appear.  You will notice that the pop-up background sound does not have the two buttons on the lower right corner that says 'Save' or 'Cancel '.  There is literally on this screen and I can't go out or save somehow, I always have to restart the project and he never adds the background sound.  Is this a bug or I do something wrong?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I just found the solution.  In the management of the Audio, if the box show object level Audio, then the buttons save and Cancel will does not appear.  By simply unchecking this box I was finally able to apply background audio-only lose about 10 hours of work around the process.

  • Cp8: Advanced - Interactions cannot get 'Forced browsing' through the buttons

    I'm going a little crazy because I am tring to do something fairly simple, and I've done it before. , I've reached a point of desperation.

    I'm just trying to do something 'forced browsing', where the user has all the buttons on a timeline before they:

    1. read audio library file

    2 see her continue button (which is hidden in the properties panel)

    My (default) method so far is to do this:

    1. create a variable for each button that is equal to 0.

    2. create a stock Standard, which assigns the value 1 to the variable (success)

    3. fix the Standard Actions to each button.

    4. create a conditional action that indicates if the value of all variables are equal to one, then the button continue will be shown, and will play the audio.

    Me seems logical, and other online sources suggest that it is correct, but it does not work.

    Can someone help me? I am desperate and pressed.

    You need a conditional action with two stops for each button. If you're on CP8, would recommend a personally shared action and put it in a file that you can always reuse as external library. For an action button will look like this:

    There are several threads showing the same solution. And on my blog there are that many use cases as well.

  • Connect the buttons to play a single layer

    I have 3 videos in different languages. Is there a way to link a button to play only a certain range in a certain layer. I could put these back to back videos, but the timeline is very long. My thought is that I have 3 different layers each containing its own video, depending on what button the link would go to this particular video on this layer.

    I'm not sure what you mean by link to a layer? If you have your video in a clip and then you put this movie on a sound clip fits on with a stop after him. Do the same with your other movies and put on there own frames (they can even be in the same layer) and then the button have the script action
    on (release) {}
    gotoAndPlay (1);
    }

  • Disable or remove the button / video clip

    Hi - I hope that this is possible - I have a gallery of actionscript controlled miniatures that scrolls horizontally so far to reveal a group of six inches... way easier to explain is just to show you...

    http://www.weensyweb.com/WOMAD/GalleryMay07/

    what I have to do is to disable the arrows 'before' or 'back' as soon as they are useless... It's buttons in the MCs, which executes a mc containing thumbs, using the following script:

    on {(press)
    If (this._parent.main.targetx < = 200) {}
    This._parent.main.targetX += 495;
    This._parent.main.targetY = 410.4;
    } else {}
    (this._parent.main.targetx - 0);
    }
    }

    At the very beginning of the film, you can see that the 'back' arrow is always selectable and clickable, even if there is nowhere for the MC scrolling to go. In the end of the Gallery, the "forward" arrow becomes obsolete, although that still keeps its stat and multi-format reversal.

    Thanks in advance.

    Check out my funky front and back buttons too :)

    Thank you!!!

    on the go MC himself, I put this:

    onClipEvent (load) {}
    targetX = 3.5;
    targetY = 410.4;
    setProperty (this._parent.backClip, _alpha, "30");
    This._parent.backClip.backBUT.enabled = false;
    }
    onClipEvent (enterFrame) {}
    Xdiv = ((targetx-this._x)/5);
    This ._x = (this ._x + xdiv);
    ydiv = ((targety-this._y)/5);
    This ._y = (this ._y + ydiv);
    }

    then the buttons I put this:

    on (release) {}
    If (this._parent.main.targetx<=-200)>
    This._parent.main.targetX += 495;
    This._parent.main.targetY = 410.4;
    This._parent.forwardClip.forwardBUT.enabled = true;
    setProperty (this, _alpha, "100");
    setProperty (this._parent.forwardClip, _alpha, "100");
    } else {}
    (this._parent.main.targetx == 0);
    this.backBUT.enabled = false;
    setProperty (this, _alpha, "30");
    }
    }

  • Make the button invisible when flv starts again

    Hello

    Please, is - can anyone help me and tell me how do to have a button instance become invisible when you click the play button on the skin.swf file? Maybe there is another way to do what I'm doing.

    I have a Flash 8 file with a pointing to an FLV file FLVPlayback component. I use an outer skin for controls. When the video ended I displaying a button, but if the person wants to play the video again the button must again become invisible. I guess I need to create an actionscript that says: If the video is in progress (at all) the button is invisible. But how?... is the big question for me.

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you
    thepopguy

    This is possible. You need actionscript to check the status of the video, if it plays then the button is invisible. This is what we call an event listener. You must give the component an instance name - like vid. Then, use this code on the frame:

    Wait reading sequence
    var vidList:Object = new Object();
    vidList.playing = function() {}
    Button1._visible = false;
    other actions go here
    }
    vid.addEventListener ("play", vidList);
    stop;

    Listen to movie stop
    var vidList2:Object = new Object();
    vidList2.stopped = function() {}
    Button1._visible = true;
    other actions go here
    }
    vid.addEventListener ("order", vidList2);
    stop;

    ============
    This code will actually listen to the playback of the sequence, and then it will make the button invisible. He listens for the film to stop, and it makes them visible again.

  • Captivate 8 - quiz - keep the button appears when quiz is incorrect; only meant to show when the minimum answers are correct.

    I have a quiz 8 Captivate, I have been struggling with - having several questions, but I'll deal with this one first.  Right now, it's the button continue.  It is supposed to only appear when the answers of the quiz are correct (70% to 'continue').  When the answers below the minimum of 70%, the Retake Quiz button, makes however the continue button.  Is there a solution for this?  BTW, the is my button, a smart shape, I did and use it as a button to continue.

    The standard button to continue on the Quiz results slide appears always right from the beginning of this slide.  You cannot see towards the end of the time, or show/hide with advanced Actions.  One option that you have is hide it under one of the other buttons (for example the quiz recovery button).  Simply place this right on top of the button continue.  Then the learner can not see until they have passed the quiz or exhausted their attempts.

  • Captivate 8: how to display the button of re - take Quiz?

    In older versions of Captivate, there was an option to make the Quiz to resume the button appears. But I can not find in Captivate 8. Where is he?

    Hi Capybara55,

    You can find the functionality of quiz recovery in Quiz preferences > Pass or fail tab > Section "is a rank failure:

    In the case where if you allow the user to more then 2 attempts then box re - take a quiz button will turn on and then you can check the box for the features of re quiz - take in your presentation.

    Thanks and greetings

  • Why my player buttons are disabled on my skin 8 Captivate when I add a quiz. If I remove the quiz, my buttons back on the skin.

    It would really save time to use the Captivate 8 quiz feature, but so far I am not able to because every time that I add a quiz, the buttons of the player are completely disappeared from my skin. I can't add because they are disabled.

    In preferences, I turned turn off the option to hide the buttons of the player.

    No one knows why this happens? Can I use a quiz and still have my visible back/forward buttons?

    Questions before the test should be set at the beginning of the course and they turn off automatically in navigation.

  • Custom theme lose the buttons send in the quiz

    Hello

    I have a theme that I made for a customer and only altered slide masters they used. The button publish (with the keys skip etc.) are all there in the master slide, and they show on every slide of issue they have, but when I click on preview this slide, or publish, as soon as you get to the quiz, there is not button Submit. The theme projects have been created on a computer and uploaded to a Google Drive folder. The customer has bought the Captivate and uploaded files (originally it did not download the theme, but has since begun from scratch - downloaded again any project and theme) of the reader, edited and sent them back. When I opened the projects, quiz slides and slides model has the Submit button, yet project overview (or editing by the way) are not there send buttons.

    I think it's a matter of topic, but I can't understand what is happening. The project has only been to Captivate 9 I know - the customer has recently purchased Captivate, and my version is up-to-date.

    Interestingly, I changed the theme to a standard embedded theme of Captivate and the Send button appears in the preview of the question slides. Should I create another theme from scratch, and then import it to each project? What went wrong initially - if it was the fact that he had not downloaded the theme I think which would break things, but then it picked up completely from scratch. Is there a difficulty without creating a new theme from scratch? PreviewExample SlideMaster

    Since the buttons send return when you change the theme to one of the standard ones found in Captivate, I would say that you definitely need to recreate your custom theme.

    I don't know what was wrong originally.  Captivate would not have worked at all for your customer unless there was at least some basic default themes, it can access.

    Now, the important thing is that you get an another theme created.  One of the other default themes Captivate is to base on.  The empty theme is generally offered for it, but there was a reported issue last week on the forum on this topic, then perhaps choose a different this time out.
