Capture of the multimedia keyboard

I want to detect a keydown event on a key on the keyboard which is one of the keys to the press.  The normal LabVIEW event touches down? is not capture them, and input device palette where you can query the keyboard is not also capture these.  The only possible solution I found is to use the Messaging API Windows post here.  This seems to be targeted at 32-bit API calls, but seems to work in my Windows 7 x 64 with LabVIEW 32 bit.

Is there another solution to detect low keys, such as Play/Pause, Stop, next track?  Thank you.

EDIT: Oh this same e-mail API may not be a solution.  I would prefer, if I can capture the same keyboard event when the window of LabVIEW is not to the point.  Currently this API requires that you pass the handle to the window (which is the face before of the VI) and detects the keyboard events only if this window has the focus.

I have not found any method for this event-based, but pooling is possible using .net class Assembly PresentationCore keyboard - see the attached VI.

  • Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard, special keys on top of the keyboard do nothing

    Hello

I use Vista 64 bit and am having a problem with my Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia keyboard.  I use a port USB to ps/2 adapter for keyboard can work in my Dell which has usb inputs.  I downloaded and installed ITP64Eng6.30.191.0.exe Web sites to get the keyboard work.

Almost everything works fine except for the special keys on top of the keyboard (My Documents, my pictures, my music and Messenger).  When I press the buttons, nothing happens.  I tried the reallocation by using the software that has been installed with ITP64Eng6.30.191.0.exe nothing works.   Curiously, some other buttons special (media, mail and home) do not work except that they cannot be reassigned.  I also tried to delete and reinstalled ITP64Eng6.30.191.0.exe without success to get all of the keys on the keyboard to work.

In addition, sometimes the return key back and to the right cursor key will not work.  Sometimes they work and sometimes they are not.  Ususally they work very well for a while and then if I reboot they will work again.

Keyboard diagnostics does not recognize the keys that do not work as same presses.  I know that all the keys work fine when I use them on my XP machine.

    Thanks for your help.

To study more, I start to think that the keyboard doesn't perhaps due to the adapter usb to ps/2.  I use the SABRENT USB to PS/2 (PS/2) converter adapter cable model SBT-PS2U.  Based on the reviews on newegg.com, it may be the card that is originally a few keys not working and the collage of some keys.

  • wireless multimedia keyboard Microsoft 1.1 on my desktop using Vista home premium and the keys are coming all wrong

I have a multimedia keyboard 1.1 microsoft wireless on my desktop using Vista Home premium, and the keys are all coming up badly, when I type 'k' for example I get 'a' or if I type 'p' I get 'v' and give me space '9' someone can tell me how to solve this problem?

    Hi Winchesterdream,

Welcome to the Microsoft answers community site.

I suggest you try the following steps

Step 1: Connect the keyboard to a different computer. If the keyboard works correctly on another computer, the port to which the keyboard was connected on the original computer may be damaged. If this is the case, contact your computer manufacturer to find out how to repair or replace the damaged port.

Step 2: Download and install the latest keyboard software

To download the latest drivers for the keyboard that you use, see the following Microsoft hardware Web site:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=MK

Step 3: Press the SHIFT key to turn five times keys Stick On or Off and check if the problem persists.

Let me know if it works. Good luck!

    Hope it will be useful.

    Thank you and best regards,

    KKS Vijay

  • The multimedia sidebar buttons and ECO button do not work

The multimedia buttons and Toshiba ECO on the left of the keyboard no longer work. They have both worked very well when I got the laptop. I think it has something to do with Toshiba FlashCards. In fact, I thought can I have uninstalled FlashCards at some point, but apparently I didn't because I can still hold the FN button and bring up the menu. Maybe I need a new driver or something?

I tried the reinstatement of these two buttons using Support of Toshiba Button, but nothing. Also tried to restart Flash Cards under start > TOSHIBA > utilities, but nothing happened. Help, please.

    > I think it has something to do with Toshiba FlashCards

No, the multimedia keys are controlled by VAP (value added package).
    You need to reinstall it!
Maps Flash controls the FN keys ;)

Sorry for my English... I m French!

    Hello

I tested it a bit on my Satellite P200 and I wasn't able to set up the play button to start WinAmp, but you can configure these buttons to work with WinAmp. It is very easy:
Start WinAmp > Options > Preferences > Global Hotkeys to activate the option activate default multimedia has the support of

After doing this, you will be able to use the multimedia keys with WinAmp, but you probably won't be able to open WinAmp when you press the 'play' button.

  • Satellite A300-1tim: - issue of the multimedia keys

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-1tim: PSAGCE-08X00GPL.
After reinstalling Windows (Vista 32 bit), everything was fine until the moment when I wanted to turn off the backlight touch multimedia keys, those just above the keyboard (above the F1 to F12 keys).

Mute, play/pause, stop and change of tracks in Windows Media Player buttons worked very well, except the second button - turning on WMP (but it was flashing after pressing).

Some time ago, I had these configured buttons in a way the first person (currently silent) turned to the large backlit, second one - a shot on Winamp.

I installed the package of added value and Toshiba Assist. Now, in Toshiba Assist, after choosing "Toshiba buttons" I only empty fields.
When I chose to browse and dir: TBS try to choose any function (e.g. drive - disable backlit) it appears in the path and Description sections, I can type something in Option, but nothing appears in the section last but the most important: button name, has nothing to choose, blind fields on the list.

Of course after you press the register there is no response when I press any button.
Maybe someone has seen something like that?

HWSetup I can turn back-lit, but this is not the point, I would do it with a single button as before.
Value added package 1.1.19 installed with FeatureSelect.ini 1.1.14 (common failure of Toshiba) also chcked v. 1.1.14 (two versions available)
    BIOS 2.20
    Toshiba Assist 2.01.04

Checked the registry and saw that I have all the keys in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Toshiba\TBS\DefaultSet ting\
I don't want to dirty it so I did not change anything

BTW, sory for my English: bravohelen:

  • Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard Mouse & 1. 0a, typing on computers in other rooms

Original title: Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard & Mouse 1. 0a

Our offices are using Microsoft Wireless Keyboard & Mouse multimedia 1. 0a. It works very well until recently, when a person entering a room the other rooms will pick up what is typed by the other person. I've tried re-sync alll the device but no luck. Any suggestions?

    Eric2009,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  What is the approximate distance from the PC which is picking up a false signal?  The range for this device should be about 6 feet.
If you have the latest drivers for your device, then download and install the latest from here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downloads/default.mspx once you have the latest version of the installed software I would suggest turning all off the PC.  Then sync them one at a time all are off the other pc.
