card network said authentication attempt

My wireless card is up to date and I have an acer with windows 7 home prem and im wondering how can I go about fixing the adapter... troubleshooting does not work all it says is that my network adapter does not work correctly or my access point. Another computer on my network can connect perfectly well and has no problem... ive tried everything please help

Hello

Assuming that wireless router is configured correctly, it is a signal and the wireless card on the computer is physically in.

Maybe this can help.

These steps and tell us where is the breaking point.

Check the Device Manager for the wireless card valid entry.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a network icon/entry wireless connection, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_connection_tcp.jpg

------------------

The wireless card drivers much also install utility wireless of the seller.

To ensure that if there is Wireless Utility a seller is not running with the native Windows wireless utility (Service WLAN).

----------------

Make sure you firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Some 3rd AV/Firewall/security software part, s costume keep blocking aspects of Local traffic even it they are off (disabled).

If possible set up the firewall correctly, /Security costume otherwise totally uninstall and get rid of its remaining processes that permit the own local network traffic flow.

If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

party like Hello and NetMagic 3rd network managers can block local traffic too.

---------------------------

Stack TCP/IP work should look like.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/status-NIC.jpg

Description is the data of the card making.

The physical address is MAC of the card number.

The xx must be a number between 0 and 255 (all xx even number).

YY should be between 0 and 255

ZZ should be between 0 and 255 (zz all the same number.)

The date of the lease must be valid at the present time.

* Note 1. IP that starts with 169.xxx.xxx.xxx isn't valid functional IP.

* Note 2. There could be an IPv6 entries too. However, they are not functional for Internet or LAN traffic. They are necessary for Win 7 homegroup special configuration.

---------------------------------------------------

A message in the small window that says connected wireless doesn't means that you are really a valid functional connection.

Above everything is OK, you must be able to connect to the router.

Connection to the router means that you can enter the IP of the router base in an address bar in one go, being able to connect and configure the router menus see.

If it doesn't connect to the router, journal newspaper from any computer that can connect to the router wirelessly with a wire, disable wireless security, make sure that the wireless SSID broadcast is enabled and try to connect with no. wireless security.

Enable security wireless after you eat to make a functional connection.

Hello people, hope you can help!

I have a laptop running vista professional and a desktop running vista ultimate.  On my desk, I activated remote desktop access and can rdp on the desktop from the laptop when the median option button is selected "allow connection of computers running any version of office to distance"... however... I obviously want to use network level authentication to be sure that I can access the office using my connection wireless laptops.

When I try to do, I get the usual message, saying that "the remote computer requires network level authentication, that my computer does not support.    Curiously, when I try the other direction (from the desktop to the laptop), I have access! How is it?  I checked the windows features that are installed and they seem to be the same...

    Hello again,

I double checked everything and both machines as set identical upward (as far as RD is concerned).  Both machines now have a user account called RemoteDesktop with a password, the two machines are set to "Notify me" and that the two computers are on the same workgroup.  Everything seems very strange to me.  If one of the PC did not support NLA, then it should not work at all, so it makes no sense that it works one way and not the other.

That being said, What are the risks of a lower level running on a home network? The network is secure (or as secure as possible never) so what are the differences between the two settings?

On your LAN House I would be worried about this. Its pretty hard to fake an address on the network under your control especially if your behind a router (with firewall function) and your wireless network is secured. I would, however, high encryption necessary and always warn the client for a password, sign in.

FWIW, I regularly connect to desktop computer XP Pro to my wife and a Windows Home Server with Remote Desktop [DRC] a computer laptop Vista Ultimate or Win7 RC1 and Ubuntu. None of those taking support NLA mode server host/DRC. The Ubuntu laptop does not support the NLA in client mode DRC.

That said, is the customer who cannot not configured like that? I believe that this is the default condition.

Also, just for the sake of the information that the failing client shows the extent of the support NLA. The built-in client for Vista should indicate this.

  • Change the authentication of card network from WEP to WPA 2

I have the WNDR3400v2 of Netgear router. I have a laptop with win 7 and another on Windows 8. I have Time Warner cable internet service.
Currently I use a security key WEP with it as advised by netgear support in the early stages of the installation after the purchase of the unit. I realize that the key WPA2 is stronger than the WEP key. I should have told this by the customer and must have helped with WAP2 key features. But now I'm with WEP security key.
I intend to change the current WEP WPA 2 security key.  After going to the settings of the router on www.routerlogin.net, I changed the security to WPA2 key
After removing the netoworks previous, I added network manually in Control Panel of Windows 7 (add notwork wireless) and I tried to follow the instructions, I can see the network in the list of available networks but cannot connect to it. Radio message Intel says failed to connect with the DHCP server. Wired internet connection works fine, but no wireless connection. I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

I was able to reset the router if you plant. After that, the parameters have been a piece of cake. Thank you very much for the help in this regard. I don't know why he did not cooperate before you restore it. In any case I appreciate it. Thank you.

    Hello

We have a Dell server with the following specifications:

    Model - R415

    MEM (GB) - 64 (8 * 8GB)

    NIC - 2 on-Board 1 cards + 2 cards external network with model Intel X 520 - T2 double Port 10GBase-T copper Server Adapter

In four network interfaces, two are currently up (connected to a switch) - one is a built-in NIC of 1 G and other is an external 10 G NIC

I try to install ESX 4.1 Update 1 build on the above material. During the installation, I could see two embedded NIC 1 G to be detected in the network screen (one showing connected state and other disconnected). Then I advanced and installed the ESX Server.

Installing ESX was to check if the 10G NETWORK adapter is supported by ESX 4.1 U1. Looks like that's not or we may have to load additional drivers, so that ESX to recognize the 10 G card.

Can you please confirm whether this is a supported configuration / tested? The VMware HCL said Dell R415 is supported, but I could not find out whether the 10G card is supported

  • 2 wireless cards network, 2 VM - only we have access to the Internet

Im running VMWare Workstation 6.5.3 build 185404. My host is Windows 7 x 86. I have 2 VM, lets call them VM1 and VM2. Both are running Windows XP x 86. I also have 2 wireless network cards, lets call them wNIC1 and wNIC2. I wish that each VM to have its own individual wNIC in order to connect to different networks and isolate traffic within their own virtual machine.

With the help of the virtual network Editor, under the virtual network mapping host, I updated VMnet2 VMnet4 and wNIC1 to wNIC2. These two wNIC is connected to different wireless connections, I have access to the internet. The host takes an IP address for each Wi - Fi connection. I put VM1 use VMnet2 and VM2 to use VMnet4. With me so far? Good!

If I start VM1, he pulls an IP and I have access to the internet. However, if I start VM2 (while VM1 is running), it shoots one IP address, but I don't have access to the internet. Similarly, if I start first VM2, I get an IP and internet access, but if I start VM1 after, I get an IP address, but no internet access.

    What Miss me?

Just a thought (WAG), but all your vmnet both have the same MAC: 00-0C-29-22-50-59

I wonder if that might create a conflict? I don't know how isolated bridges are.

You can change in the .vmx file. If all goes well, a guru can comment on that.

    Like I said, a WAG.

  • Cannot install Wireless Adapter (card NETWORK or USB key) to the Pavilion p6340a Win 7 Home Prem

I removed a work card TP-Link to a Pavilion a1300a XP Home PC network to put in my Pavilion p6340a Win 7 (64-bit) Home Prem PC.

Download and install the current drivers of TP-Link.
Installed everything well and the adapter can be seen in sub "Change adapter settings" in network and sharing Center and shows as working properly in Device Manager, but it is not recognized as a network within the network and sharing Center.

Under "Manage wireless networks'" nothing appears, if I then click on Add"then manually create network profile" "I then get an informative message '" an unexpected error occurred'. "

Suspect a problem with the NETWORK card, I uninstalled it and its drivers and tried to install a USB wireless adapter with the same exact result and the error message. It seems that there must be an OS problem or something stopping the wireless to work. USB adapter both NIC work properly when installed on the former Pavilion a1300a XP Home PC. NETWORK card and USB adapter are the current drivers for Win7.

All the ideas it driving me crazy. A simple 5 minutes on any other PC task turned into many.many hours without solution.

After many hours of uninstall re install & try everything under the Sun in many forums, I finally found a solution. Despite trying with firewall disabled at different times was the final fix

    1. Uninstall NETWORK card and USB drivers and devices.
    2. Then uninstall the AntiVirus (in this case AVG Internet Security)
    3. Reinstall the NETWORK card and drivers
    4. Reinstall AntiVirus

Tried the USB adapter as well so that the antivirus has been uninstalled and installed no. with problems.

    Everything works very well.

  • Pavilion G7-1355dx: card network problem

    Hello

I had previously posted the question below and took the lead on mark as resolved. The answer I got was good, but because of many different configurations of my model of my laptop model, it was not correct for mine.

I have an old HP Pavilion 1355dx G7 and I use it during the games XBOX a stream. It has only one network adapter Wireless 2.4 ghz, if coupled with that much congestion in my neighborhood, it broadcasts only during the flawless. New info: my laptop has an AMD processor, not an Intel processor.

This laptop does support 5 GHz wirelesss network cards compatible with AMD? I am hoping to move to a 5 ghz however I want to make sure that it supports and is on the white list before I buy one.

Thanks for the info. That's what I was afraid of. Can be an excuse to get a new laptop and let the kids use it. It is not a big deal, for the most part, it works well, but you can see in sensitive applications.

I used an app WiFi Analyzer and each channel is overused. I'm surrounded by more than a dozen networks (tons of apartments) and use channel 11 that is congested, but less crowded than 1 and 6.

I work from home with a new company and now I am not able to connect to the remote desktop, because he says that the NLA is not supported on my system. Trying him I don't have the option to do so. My previous employers, team COMPUTER messed with some settings to allow me to connect to their servers, but I don't know what they were doing and how to fix it. :(

    Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

NLA authentication is an authentication method that can be used to improve the Remote Desktop Session host server security by requiring that the user be authenticated to the Remote Desktop Session host server until a session is created.

Authentication complete NLA authentication of users before you establish a remote desktop connection and the logon screen appears. This is a more secure authentication method that can help protect the remote computer from malicious users and malicious software. The benefits of the NLA authentication are:

    • It requires fewer remote computer resources initially. The remote computer uses a limited number of resources before authenticating the user, rather than start a remote desktop connection complete as in previous versions.
    • It can help provide better security by reducing the risk of denial of service attacks.

According to the description of the problem, you can not connect to the desktop (RDS) remotely and get the NLA error is not supported on your system. I suggest you to return the items listed below and see if it helps.
