Carpet mouse and keyboard Lenovo Y40 - 70 do not work
I have a Lenovo Y40-70 running Windows 8.1 64bits.
A couple of days, I restarted the laptop and it installed updates. After you install the updates, the keyboard and the mouse do not work (I had to use a keyboard external usb and a mouse to open a session and to this forum post). There was no physical trauma on the laptop. It worked fine before I restarted, and after that it didn't. It has been literally sitting on the table all the time.
The keys don't work either outside the operating system. I started using the Novo key and could not select all options because none of the keys work. The Fn + F2 combo that allows you to rotate the display does, however, most likely (I presume) because it is a direct physical connection to the screen.
It could be a coincidental hardware issue.
I think that there is an option in the BIOS you have disable called "BIOS backflashing" or something that allows you to downgrade the BIOS. This option can also prevent you to install the same BIOS version ontop of itself.

Carpet mouse and keyboard stop working after update of windows 8
Separated from this thread.
Hello, I'm having the same problem. However, those suggestions did not work for me.
You can check the following registry key? :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4d36e96b-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
To the registry for this key, in the right window, in the world is here, under 'Name', a LowerFilters and UpperFilters value?
If so, for UpperFilters and LowerFilters, value which is listed under "data"?
You can also check the following registry key? :

no error code just that mouse and touch pad on laptop does not work
My D610 delllatitude's cd-rom problems, so when I contacted dell they told me to delete some of the files in the registry and now with my new drive hard to 100 GB when the computer was delivered on the pointer is located in the Center or there abouts and my wireless mouse or my touchpad moves it. When I put my original hard 40 GB drive but it works fine but I have an external hard drive here kit and I am able to run the 100 GB in this way drive. By pluging in there through the usb cord.
any suggestions as to how I might solve this problem? off silver shop and cain't difficulty or buy a new one or believe me I replaced it with a new HP laptop in a heartbeat.
After you have installed Windows on the new drive, have you thought to install all the drivers for your hardware? Looks like that you did not do this. Plug a USB Wired mouse and go to the Dell website and download all the drivers/utilities for your Latitude. This includes the touchpad drivers. Wireless mouse drivers need to be downloaded on site of the mouse mftr. and then installed.
Dell Support & drivers - go to the site Web and download/install the drivers and utilities for your operating system from Dell. Be sure to choose the drivers 32 or 64-bit according to the case. Enter your Service tag to get the drivers for your specific model computer.

Mouse and keyboard Microsoft Wireless Comfort 5050
Mouse and keyboard Microsoft Wireless Comfort 5050 will work with my MAC
With due respect, look at the configuration required for the keyboard and the mouse and see if your iMac has the bare. You can find this information by clicking on https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-us/products/keyboards/wireless-comfort-Bureau-5050/pp4-00001 #specsColumns - testCarousel
My guess is Yes, but you were not specific about which iMac you have so I can't say for sure.

Mouse and keyboard no longer work after fixing drive dvd - Satellite A100-147
My DVD Player wasn't working, so I fixed it with the help of some advice from a forum: go to regedit to remove the 'previous' and 'high' or something, I have a catalog specified.
But then the keyboard and the touchpad is dead in Windows. Nor can I use an external keyboard and mouse.
I tried to start it in safe mode and with the last settings that worked. None succeeded. Apart from the fact that the keyboard actually works to make choices, therefore, a question Ms.
Ideas/fixes would be greatly appreciated.
Computer: Equium a100-147
OS: XP media center w/sp2 (I think)Maybe you deleted the upperfilters wrong or additional / lowerfilters?
The correct key is {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}Boot safe mode.
Go to control panel-> Add/Remove Programs control
Uninstall all software Mouse/touchpad/keyboard/logitech that can be installed
Go to Device Manager
go to view - > click on 'show hidden devices '.
Delete all devices under "mice and other pointing devices" and "keyboards".
Reset.
XP should detect the mouse and keyboard and install the drivers.

Qosmio G30-163 mouse and keyboard does not work properly
Hi all
I installed an update of the firmware of the toshiba site. I think that the upgrade was for the dvd but am not sure. I just saw an available upgrade and installed. Stupid of me. The dvd drive has been previously not recording. If after installing the update of the firmware I has not restarted the machine. In the meantime, I forgot the upgrade and then I did to fix the error of dvd
"Start the Registry Editor (start, run and type regedit and click on).
Search for "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" (and "UpperFilters.bak" "LowerFilters.bak", if they exist) value under the following key in the registry and delete it:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Exit the registry editor.
Reset. »
Now, after restart the keyboard and the mouse does not work. I can't go in safe mode because I can't press ok for the user login screen. I have attached an external keyboard, but it still does not work.
I use windows xp, I have a lot of data. I can't do anything. If anyone has any idea please help me. The laptop is out of warranty. I'm stuck. Help, please.
John
S rally strange because I put t see a link between the firmware CD/DVD, UpperFilters and LowerFilters and the keyboard and mouse.
This is first time that a removal of the upper and lower filters would undermine the functionality of keyboard and mouse. Which is really strange.
Anyway, you are able to access the BIOS? If this isn't the case, then this is not good.
First of all, you should try to save the data stored on the HARD disk in this case, I recommend to remove the laptop HARD drive and connect it using a USB HDD on another controller.
This would allow you to save the data to another HARD disk.Put the removed HARD disk in Notepad, and then try to reinstall the OS from the Toshiba restore CD.
I hope that this will be possible because I don't see another way to get the operating system again.Good luck by a friend

After the update to el Capitan my iMac will not be asleep. I put it to sleep and turn off the mouse and keyboard that goes with it, and 5-10 minutes later, he wakes up on his own. Now, I have to stop it after use and each time only. The Major pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Please test after taking each of the steps that you have already tried:
Step 1
Take all of the measures suggested in this support article, including those under the title "If the previous steps do not work." It is the starting point for a new effort to solve the problem.
Note that, as stated in the article, the computer will not sleep, if some sharing services are enabled. In the menu bar, select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Sharing
Disable all sharing services.
Step 2
If sharing music iTunes home sharing is enabled, disable it or quit iTunes. Do the same with third-party applications that have a similar feature.
Step 3
Select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ Accessibility ▹ Speakable Items: Off
Step 4
Select
▹ System Preferences... ▹ ▹ Advanced Bluetooth...
and uncheck the two boxes marked
Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup if...
Step 5
Step 6
Back up all data.
Triple-click on the line below on this page to select, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination:
/var/vm
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ go to the folder...
from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.
A folder named 'vm' should open. Inside, there may be a file named 'drag '. Move this file and only this one in the trash, but do not yet empty. You will be asked for your password. Close the folder window.
Restart the computer and empty the trash.

Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard
When I scroll upward or down with the mouse, the result is delayed by a second or two. Otherwise, works well.
Hi RobertBoivin,
1. you have made no changes to the computer before the broadcast took place?
2. what operating is installed on the computer?
3. What is the number of the model of the mouse and keyboard?Method 1
Try the steps from the following links:The problems with the mouse button or scroll the parameters
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/303091Troubleshoot the incidents of the response to the mouse or wireless keyboard
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/838398Method 2
If the steps above fail, then I suggest you to update the mouse drivers by selecting the model number of the mouse from the following link:

None of my usb ports work, and I can't get my mouse and keyboard to respond. The computer will start, but none of the usb ports work, and I don't have the use of a mouse or a keyboard works through all the patches. Help!
I have PS/2 ports, but no mouse PS/2 or a keyboard... did not have those last few decades and don't know anyone who has these features more

during boot, or perhaps in Safe Mode
Assuming that your keyboard works during boot (and it should; trying to tap F8 to access Advanced Boot Options Menu), probably the simplest method would be to make a Hiren Boot CD, boot from it and use one of the many included tools. I have not experienced with your particular situation, so I can not tell you what tools will be or will work for you, but my guess is that USBDeView might work.
Description: http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd
Download and burn (copied from ElderL):
Download the Hiren ISO here (download important enough but worth it).
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/
I like to use ImgBurn to create a bootable ISO CD:
When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask Toolbar (ever).
Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:
Thanks for all the help. Seems that there is no easy 'reset' for bad hardware configurations.
However, I dug to the bottom of my Lac 'tech' and found a USB-to-PS/2 adapter, which allowed me to use the USB mouse into the PS/2 port and reactivate my USB ports.
All is well now.
Thank you all for your answers!
Kind regards!

Mouse and keyboard no longer works in Windows XP Media Center edition
I moved my Gigabyte Media Center and start the keyboard and mouse are are suddenly stopped working. Works very well to access the BIOS key and F8 for safe mode - has also no feature mouse keybpard or. So with any form of Windows I have no input control. It is not a problem with the keyboard because it works in start mode. Tried other mouse USB and keyboards all to nothing does not. There are no PS2 port on the machine. I found a few examples of this anomaly on the web, but no real answers. It looks like windows for mouse and keyboard drivers are corrupt? But how can I get reinstall - machine is defunct Evesham, I don't have a recovery disk or a serial number. Any help would be accepted with gratitude!
