Cartridge HP 970-971 (ink pigment or dye)

HP Officejet printers have XPro 551. We use ink or dye must use pigment ink in the printer cartridge? Is - this inconvenient to use Dye ink?

HP 970 and 971 ink cartridges use pigmented ink.  The head of printing and the ink delivery system is designed to use HP pigmented ink, using another ink risk of damage to the print head (expensive).

  • Cannot print in black and white when the yellow ink cartridge is low on ink

Someone please tell me that the guy I talked to customer service is a fool and there is a way to print black and white, once your color cartridge runs out of ink.

If this isn't the case, it's the cheapest clamp, all the money that I've ever heard of.  Someone please tell me they did sink that low.

Printers that have individual ink cartridges (separate magenta, yellow and cyan) must have all the colors, mounted so as to ensure that the printhead to dry out and is not damaged. Some printers who have integrated print heads (that just take the 2 black and tricolor cartridges) have the ability to print in what is known as a reserve mode. That is where we remove the empty cartridge and is able to print a test page to determine if the printer can operate in reserve mode until a replacement can be purchased. The reason for the cartridges to install, is that the printer uses ink for other purposes in addition to printing. It is also used to maintain the printer. Here is a link to learn more about this topic. He will also discuss the topic of the reserve mode as well.

  • HP Officejet 4630: Hp Officejet ' ink cartridge problem: the following ink cartridge must be replaced '

We've had this printer for several years and she did beautifully until I bought a new ink colored and installed and all of a sudden, he said that there was a lack of ink cartridge. Then I went out and bought black ink (because it is low in any case) and installed it but this message kept popping up 'the following ink cartridges need to be replaced' (for color) even if she had new ink cartridges. But all trying to find a solution, I discovered the functions of the good printer without going through a color cartridge inside, but as soon as I put the color cartridge inside the same error message appears on the color ink. I tried to clean it up and unplug it and clean the cartridges. IM wondering if my last choice is to bring in the printer if it looked

    Good evening
It was in fact unfortunately useless that I did all these steps twice I even bought the new ink color for this printer and the problem persists. I hope I can find a solution quickly!

HP recommends you use HP inks for best results and for the life of your HP product.

Longer term, done cartridges can shorten the life of your printer & HP original cartridges away

refills of layers g ink exceeded in print quality and reliability.

  • Nine D110b. Installed the cartridges supplied. Black ink will not print on paper, color OK.

I just opened and installed the new all-in-one printer of D110b. only the color cartridge is printing on the page.  Using this with an iMac OSX running.  Do you have the utility printer cleaning of the printheads through step 3, but no change.  Audit of the use of ink and black ink is expressed.  But where is it placed?  Please help as soon as POSSIBLE.  Thank you.  (Since this is a new printer, you would think that HP help for free - no luck.)

I called HP hotline and they get my cartridge black to finally work.  It turns out that the ink inside, since it had been sitting for about a year, has been a bit lazy, and he had to be convinced to enter the tube and print on paper.  Thanks for your suggestions.

  • All-in-one Deskjet 2540: Brand New Deskjet 2540 - "cartridge is Incompatible - black ink cartridge.

I just got a new HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one yesterday, ordered from amazon.de, went through the installation of software on my 2015 Macbook Pro running OSX Yosemite, deleted the band contained in 301 ink cartridges provided, placed them in the printer (tricolor on the left, in black on the right) without touching the electrical contacts or the ink nozzles and tried and align the ink cartridges.

    I met an error message:

    'Incompatible ink cartridge.

    Black [K]

The cartridge listed above is not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured.

    Please see using printer. "

Strange, but no matter, the bad seats maybe. I opened the drawer, removed black and reinstalled. Same error message. Well, I ordered an extra authentic HP 301 XL knowing I would run on Finally, maybe my ink cartridge provided was bad. I removed the 301 XL tape and installed. This time, no message error, but as soon as I went to print an alignment page, I received the same error. I went back between cartridges and sometimes I get the printer to accept it, but any attempt to use the printer caused an error message.

So I went on this forum, found a few tips on how to solve the problem. I tried the resets seats and the relocation and hard. Same error message. I went to clean the contacts, using a cotton swab, filter coffee and bottled water Jig only contacts of eletrical on two ink cartridges (normal and XL) and contacts of printers. I let them dry for 10 minutes and reinstall. Same error message, no progress.

I'm at a loss for what to do that this is a new printer and I say to myself that I would not have this much trouble. If I could get advice on what to do and more: seats/resettlement, cleaning the contacts, hard reset, it would be appreciated.

    HI bchowseph,

I found some information about the printer product Specifications.  It does not list the cartridge 301 for Western Europe.  The 61 is for North America.  I think I made the assumption that you were in the United States (my bad!)

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-DeskJet-2540-all-in-one-printer-series/5295960/model/5295961/document/c03811750/

I greatly apologize for the confusion!

Yet, the printer should accept the cartridges you had - so I think I can get a replacement printer is the right course of action.

The ink cartridges should be OK for a few days in an airtight container.  You may need to run a routine cleaning cartridge if you see necessary ink missing once you have installed.

If you need to return the standard procedure is to call HP customer care.

I hope that everything works with the replacement printer.  I also hope it is resolved quickly!

  • new cartridge printer already more ink

I received an error black printer cartridge on my printer, so I bought a new cartridge 901 and installed.  Seemed to fix the problem and is working fine.  Good print quality.  But now, after only 3 weeks of very irregular use (perhaps 25 copies of the text for the most part) my cartridge is empty.  There seems to be some splashes of ink inside the cartridge area and the pavement below seems to have ink as well.  What is the problem?

The cartridge life will undergo a number of factors.  I suggest the following:

    • Always keep the printer powered by a live outlet.  Power turned off with an external switch causes more ink to be used to serve the print heads.
    • Use draft printing modes or econofast when possible.  It uses about half the ink of the modes normal or best impression and is generally very good for common text printing.
    • Do not use excessive cleaning cycles. (You are OK here already).
    • Review XL cartridges.  They cost about 2 X the price but can deliver 3 X pages.
    • Do not change the cartridge until the print quality deteriorates.  The low ink indicator is a warning that your ink becomes low to give you time to buy a replacement.  You don't need to change the cartridge until it actually runs.
  • HP 901 ink cartridge: should I fake ink cartridges?

I recently bought a few ink cartridges which have been described as authentic, but on a thorough inspection could be false.

Basically, they were sent without the boxes which was OK, as they say it was to save on postage costs, but now I wonder if the real reason is because there is no real security seal on the box and maybe even an old expiry date. (Still sealed) aluminum foil packaging printing is blurry and bad quality compared to a known genuine replacement cartridges that I have which is perfectly clear.

The photo below is the two in comparison, the top is received, the bottom is known real.

Is there an HP expert who can confirm its status of this please? If it is false, there will be no problem to use it or should I try and return?  Thank you.

No, they don't cause any damage. But I'm glad to see you used the Forums to find answers.

  • HP 61 cartridge: will an HP ink cartridge marked for sale in the work of the Australia in the USA

I just bought a new combo pack in box of the HP 61 cartridge for my printer HP 4620 scanner. The problem is I bought them off eBay and when I opened the sidewalk I saw that the area, while the new, open and not expired, is marked for sale in Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Islands only. I have not yet opened and could probably go back if they don't work, but it was in the hope that they would be. Can someone tell me if I will have to revisit the issue of whether they will work?

    Thank you

    Hello

    Yes, for printer Officejet 4630,

Cartridges HP 61 are for of North America and Asia-Pacific (excluding India and China, Japan, Indonesia) and the Australia is in the region of the AP.

  • Deskjet 6988 print cartridge 'door' - cannot access ink cartridges

This printer has been giving me excellent service for many years, so I'm not surprised that he can do a little wonky. Yet, any advice would be most appreciated!

Recently, this "door" has popped up, preventing me access to print cartridges:

It seems to say "turn the printer off," or perhaps "turn off and on again," that would be logical, as requiring to do her little dance and restarts. MOST of the time, it does no good. The cartridges just sitting there, and the door rest.

However sometimes turning market causes a mechanism to move, and the door up and down and sometimes stays down.

I saw no references to this 'gate' in the manual. Anyone know what it's called?

Is there a way to force the printer to zero and drop the door? A factory reset did not work.

    Thank you!

    This fixed/figured it out!

Remove the Panel on the right side of the printer. It's like two hooks on the top and two clips on the bottom. Gently pull down to unclip. Upwards, you will see the mechanism that connects the cover to a switch. For me, the wire time the "capture" disengaged, and I need to restore the link so that it is engaged when the lid rises or falls. After that I did, the cartridges behaved normally, and the mysterious "door" is never in the way.

  • Printing on Photo paper with black ink cartridge - J6480 - grayscale does not work

With:, Mac OS 10.6.6 more latest software HP Print/Scan/utilities:

The color radio button to use the black cartridge is grayed out if you choose to print in grayscale. If the color cartridge is empty, you cannot print in grayscale on photo paper. It allows you to print in grayscale on plain paper.

In other words, that it is making me use the color cartridge for printing in grayscale on photo paper. It doesn't look good for me.

Well Yes, that's right.  The ink in the black cartridge is an ink pigment (about particles of carbon suspended in the solution) and cannot be absorbed by the photo paper.  The ink in the color cartridge is dye based (like dye food) and is absorbed by the coating on photo paper.  That is why all the printing with black cartridge is denied when using photo paper.

Pigmented ink is used in the black cartridge to produce the beautiful crisp text on plain paper.  There are HP printers with cartridges 'Photo Black' which are ink to dye black which can be used on photo paper.  These printers also have a black text in another cartridge which is a pigmented ink.

  • 4635: 61 options of ink cartridge for Lake City stickers

I'm trying to slide with an oficejet stickers 4635

after they are installed and clear print folded they look great for about 4 months, but later, the ink is twisted everywhere.

are there options of ink for this printer?

    are 61 cartridges based pigment?

61 black cartridges are pigmented, 61 dye based color cartridges.  A thumbnail of the water, I would recommend only using black ink, the likely purge will of color as it is wet.
