cartridge missing or not detected c4580

Today my C4580 all-in-one printer printed a page VERY slow and after I turned it and then turn on the error message appeared "print cartridge missing or not detected".

I searched the forum and found a similar problem someone had a few months to which DexterM responded and I followed the same steps given here, I tried the cartridge cleaning and reset (unplug the unit from the wall), but I still have the message.

So I printed out the self-assessment report:

for the code = 10

16 PX = 4

53 PX = 4

63 PX = 4

54 HP = 1

64 HP = 1

56 STAT = 0

66 STAT = 0

BILL 57 = 64

BILL 67 = 44

and with the code of the removed black print cartridge = 43 results are the same as hers:

Ok. Looks like you have almost tried everything. Unfortunately, the results of the test pages you printed doesn't help me understand the issue. I suggest you try to reset the printer. remove the cartridges before you begin these steps.

1. press the Power button and the Cancel button at the same time and release them. The display shows "enter special key Combo".
2. now press the (Scan) (color copy) Green Blue and grey (black copy) buttons one after the other. The display shows "Support ".
3. press 2 times on the blue button. "Reset" menu. Now press OK. If the screen still shows the Reset Menu After you press OK, then press the green button.
4. press the gray button. Should display "semi-Full Reset". OK\Green press button. The printer turns off.
5. turn on the printer and select your country and language.

Reinsert the cartridges once you do this. If you still get the same message, open the HP Solution Center program on your PC, then check the dipstick of ink or the status of the printer. It should tell you what print cartridge has the problem. Replace this cartridge. If it works, then call HP so that they can replace the defective cartridge for you.

    Nevermind I found the answer.  I copy the information because it worked!

    The steps are also listed below

    1. press the button and the button cancel at the same time.

    2. you will be asked to enter a special code press the blue button, green button and the grey button (in that order, one after the other).

    3. press the grey button until the Menu "information".

    4. press the green button.

    5. press on the gray button until you reach checksum to lock new data entry.

    6. press the green button and wait a certain number to appear. It will be a random number and is not important beyond his generation.

    7. press the button cancel three times to exit.

    8. try the print message should be gone.

    I have a photosmart C4585 printer all in one, for a long time, I used hp cartridges-it worked fine until recently when the "print cartridge missing or not detected" message appeared.  I Googled it and found a video on YouTube showing how to remedy this with a particular sequence, which only worked to a print.  Then the error message returned.  I replaced the "truant" cartridges with HP authentic and still always get the same error message.  I am at a loss to know what to do, really can't afford a new printer, my daughters will be lost without a printer for homework!  Please can someone offer me advice?

    Vinia, I understand that you use genuine HP NO ink cartridges. Usually, this creates a problem at the beginning. Even if you were able to print before, using the correct cartridges is the best way.

    Hi - have a HP 4280. I just started to receive message "print cartridge missing or not detected". Have replaced the cartridges with new HPs and no dice. Always get the message. Have restarted printer and still no hemp. Any ideas?

    After cleaning, resets, etc., I got to work by installing the cartridges on the tenth time VERY strongly in their slots... I'm sure this isn't the approved view of HP, but it worked!

    Recently, I replaced the color cartridge in my Photosmart C4240 all-in-one. After re-installing the cartridge, there is a message on the printer that "printer cartridges missing or not detected" (with a picture of an ink cartridge). I deleted and reinstalled each cartridge several times and noticed that sometimes a cartridge image is displayed and other times two images are displayed. After playing a bit, I think that I have determined that it's the black cartridge not detected. The color cartridge is one that I have recently removed and filled then re-installed.     My printer has message 'Lack of cartridges print or not detected' sometimes it will print fine, sometimes msg appears. I cleaned the cartridges without result.   What should I do?

    Something to try would be to clean the contacts of the cartridge with a pencil eraser. Then it blow out with compressed air.

    have a photosmart c4280 all-in-one, CC210A.  to get the message that the cartridges are not detected.  Both are loaded correctly.  I suspect that a sensor is crapped out.  over time, maybe ink excessive spray?  How to fix?

    My all-in-one HP Photosmart C4250 error is 5 years old.

    I have a HP Photosmart C4280 running on Windows XP.  Whenever I try to print, I get the message "Missing cartridge printing or undetected"... it seems to be the cartridge three colors, the origin of the problem.  I have taken the cartridges out and then put them, I turned off the printer and then turned back on... the only thing that seems to work is to go into my HP Solution Center, select my printer, select settings, select printer Toolbox, select Services of devices and finally click on print a Diagnostic Page.  Will then and only then the printer print my document - then it prints a page of diagnosis.  I do whenever I want to print something... any suggestions?  I'm wasting ink and paper...

    First of all, I have a HP Pavilion dv9700. I often play the Sims 3 on my laptop. Which means every day. My laptop has overheating problems, so I bought a stand with a fan in her lap.     Clogged or blocked vents? The internal fan is working correctly? Doesn't look like
    everything is as it should be in the Department of ventilation. Clean as much as possible, and even if it's awkward
    Try a good fan blowing through the vents as a test. This should be very telling. If the internal fans
    are not all work as they should, or the ventilation openings are blocked, then a whole or several parts of
    the device can get too hot and either acting strangely or stop completely.

    Help for the problem of CD/DVD but the heat might indeed be the main cause of the issue.

    Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
    a process that solves the problem.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
    Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
    RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

    Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
    cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

    Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
    ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
    contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
    manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
    Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

    Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
    the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

    Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
    the correct registry entries for your car.

    Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
    as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.
