Cassette to PC problem

Hello

I'm trying to connect from a cassette player that has only a phone jack to the Jack from my PC online.

I use a connection cable with a green stereo jack on each end.

When I play the player cassette nothing shows on my screen at the hearing and when I press the record, I get the message that a "path should be armed.

I have enable line-in in the software... what to do?

Thank you

Emma

To arm a track for recording, you press the red button with an 'R' on the subject. It will be located on the track beside the green button labeled "M" and the yellow button labeled "S"

The input switch located under the volume buttons & pan should point to the line of your pc.

    Hello

The problem is that your machine is lower end, Don t wonder when you have ports but cannot use them for more "professional" things like this.

I suggest you buy an external USB sound card and transfer your bowl of bands of it. I think that the quality would be much better.

  • How to solve the problems of drift Accupoint? -Solution!

AccuPoint problems seem to be spread across many laptops from Toshiba. Remember that sometimes the pointer to recalibrate itself, this should take about 10-20 seconds - do not try and use the pointer over this period - it should stabilize after this period. However, if the problem becomes frequent or time-consuming recalibration, the general consensus is to: -.

    (a) clean the dust / can of debris around the pointer using compressed air. This works in most cases.

    (b) a continuous drift / erratic behavior - reinstalling drivers / replace the keyboard.

Note: Using an external mouse, in most cases, will not prevent the problem of drifting.

If your laptop is out of warranty and / or you do not want to replace the keyboard / have the laptop repaired, you can permantley disable the Accupoint device. This means that you will still need to use an external mouse - mouse or the USB port.

If you are reasonably competent, follow these steps: -.

Remove the keyboard - first disconnect the external power supply and the battery/s.

    (a) there is a small strip of black plastic located immediately above the function keys, remove, using two small cavities - it should detach easily.

    (b) locate the two small black screws that attach the keyboard to the frame and remove.

    (c) lift the keyboard away from the chassis by lifting the keyboard from the top.

    (d) the keyboard is connected to the laptop via a ribbon cable which is set on the connector by a small strip of black plastic under the tablecloth - this slide to the rear.

    (e) the Accupoint connection is separate tape located on the left - it has four connections - carefully Peel this form partly the support transparent plastic strip which also contains the main Ribbon from the keyboard.

    (f) by using a small piece of insulating tape, attach it to the back of the cassette tape of the main keyboard.

    (g) reinsert the Ribbon of keyboard in the connector - now less the tablecloth Accupoint - then reinsert the small black strip of plastic tape to secure the tablecloth on the attachment connector cable.

    (h) replace the keyboard by inserting the tabs at bottom first, gently push down and replace the two screws black.

Reinsert the battery/s and the external power source.

Power you laptop - no more problems Accupoint!

  • Driver camcorder (Samsung SC-D6550) problem

    Hello world
I have a very old Samsung SC-D6550 mini-DV camera and I am trying to import the records on my computer.

I had problems with recognition of driver. I tried and installed the only driver downloads currently available on the Samsung site for this unit (http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/SC-D6550) and I even bought a driver download program thinking they had a different driver, more up-to-date, but that didn't work either. Also, I have "install the driver using compatibility settings" and it still has not recognized. The camcorder is considered as an audio device, and ' type: other devices "and the drivers are not recognized as installed (code 28), although they are, even after the choice of the location of folder with him.

I resorted to the location and the installation of a driver in Device Manager. However, while my computer finally recognizes the camcorder as a camcorder (and not an audio device) and the driver status "working properly", editing on my computer programs do not recognize the camcorder and I can't import the video, which is my goal.

I realize that I use Windows 8 and I think I read the pilot is 32 bit might have something to do with it, but I don't know what to do to solve the problem.

I spent many hours of reading and experimenting/troubleshooting without result. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    Hi Althea,

    Thanks for the reply.

There is no way to change the operating system temporarily.

To work around the problem, you can follow these steps:

    a. connect the camera to a computer running under Windows XP/Vista.

    b. transfer the recordings from the camera to the computer.

    c. copy these files/tapes of the Windows XP/Vista computer on a USB drive (for example: Pen drives or external hard drive).

    d. connect and transfer cassettes to the USB on the computer of Windows 8.

    Thank you.

  • Problem Super complicated with rendering (horizontal lines occur in my final output)

So my problem is sort of double.

    1. I create some graphics kinetic typography in AE CS6 for a customer, and when I go the Compositions of the hand, my output file is stretched.  I can't understand why this is happening.  The parameters of my computer are 1920 x 1080 D1/DV NTSC widescreen (1.21), 29.97 Drop Frame (although I changed these settings to try to solve this problem and, "no dice").  Don't forget that I have other comps in main compositions which have completely different parameters.  Some of them are calibrated at 4000 x 4000.

I rendered out as a QuickTime codec 'Animation' 1920 x 1080 (although I changed these settings several times also in an attempt to solve the problem and still "no dice") the output video is always extended.  When I format the output for H.264, I get a caveat which reads the incompatibility of settings.

I found a solution, however.  I drag the media encoder and output format as QuickTime ProRes 422 (or that, is not serious, still get the same problem), deinterlaced, 1920, 29.97, field order: first superior, appearance D1/DV NTSC widescreen 16:9 (2.2121).  Stretching issue fixes, but now I have these horizontal line that occur during the time when there is movement.  I have set all the parameters I mentioned several times and I can't understand why he did this.

Can anyone help with this problem.

Notice that your comp says always personalized. This means that you have changed something. You should always use the presets.

The size of the image does not change because EI is pixel based. In the Composition Panel, if you enable view correcting the format of pixels so you would see the form of the change of model window. For example, when you view a DV (standard non square pixels) in perfect circles of Viewer Comp are oval until you put on pixel aspect ration correction in the Viewer. The number of pixels remains the same. Non square pixels were designed as a way to get digital data on digital broadcasting at a rate reduced data so that digital television would work. For example, a standard TV has a 4:3 and 486 scan image report lines. with the information of the visible image. The standard DV is 720 X 480 pixels. They cut the first 2 and down 4 scan lines because they were in the region of overscan and not visible to most of the viewers for broadcasters filled with missing persons aligns black because it is easy to compress, and then they did the format of the pixels, which is the conversion of a digital bit of information in time for an analogue electron beam moving on the screen at a fixed rate would put 720 of them on a line scan keep the image distorted and circles still circles. Make sense? At the time, it's all digital cameras faster and digital video might work. Now he's okay and nothing is broadcast in the United States in non square pixels. Only still DVD rely on pixels not square to the video of the reading. Same reason is as much information as you could successfully and reliably remove a DVD at the same time the standard was written.

There is absolutely no reason to never work except non square pixels so absolutely, you know exactly what you do and why you do it. AE and all other NLE will automatically adjust images of non square pixels fit in a project of pixels square without distortion.

Probably more than you wanted to know, but now you do. The reason for which only conceivable that someone would never made it or implement a master comp with non square pixels would be they should send the rendering in a digital format that accepts only non square pixels. IOW, if you have an old camera DV DV cassette and a way to digitize that digitally (which has not been manufactured for about 8 or 10 years) and you absolutely have to create a digital format DV master so that you can transfer this basic to the DV tape form digitally (no record) so that you have a digital copy of the video recorded on a format that only people with antiquated equipment can read using only that material so that you do not want to use the DV project (any format of X 720 in the menu drop down) from the beginning in Finnish. In my humble OPINION, all of these formats should be average at the bottom of the list so that a note should be that it is not deprecated square formats to use with caution.

  • Lag/rendering with Premiere Elements problems

During my studies, I was with Premiere Pro, with whom I could work (though I've always been under the impression that I'm playing with a little more than the tip of the iceberg). After leaving University, I looked out for another video editing program, and since most of the comments stated that Premiere Elements has been a good choice for non-professional video editing and certainly adequate for everyday use. So, I got a copy of PElements, which was pretty cheap compared to its big brother.

However, after trying to edit two videos in one (the same scene taken with different cameras), I must admit that I am a little disappointed.

The biggest point of contention is the terrible lag. Agency was already overwhelmed by the people, but they did not nearly unworkable program. Then I started to make the two video tracks, that would take about 4 hours for a simple 11:30 (2 x) minutes of video material.

I used the following for this system:

    Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180

    2 GHz

    4 GB of Ram

    Windows 7

    32 bit

Video files, that I worked with were already changed to Avi using the following conversion programs converted camera cassette versions (I had to convert because for some unknown reason, my old Premiere Pro has refused to work with AVCHD or vlc.tod - files, so I did not worth to try it here).

Free Video Converter V3.0.0.0 (Koyote Soft)

    Output Avi Format

    MS-Mpeg4-V2 codec

    Any Video Converter (MPlayer)

    Output Avi Format

    Mpeg4 codec

So, my question would be: is this normal? I guess, if anything, items would be faster than Pro because it is less complicated, but appearently I was mistaken. What is the reason - is the obsolete system, do I have to use special presets for a video clip or is the format of data file I used to blame for either or both of my problems?

(other questions are cut-editing tools and color are much coarser than those of the body, but I guess this is intentional)

Your gun shoots in a variety of formats. If you want to edit in Premiere Elements, you should shoot only in MXP or FXP mode. (Leave the Everio out of the mix for this part of the experiment, since these cams have their own unique challenges.)

You should then beyond a Premiere Elements project using the project settings for stereo 1920 x 1080 AVCHD full.

Use the elements first get the media / Flip and AVCHD camcorder to import video from your camcorder to your computer and place the video on the timeline. You should not see red lines above clips. You should also see pretty good performance when you work with it.

Also, your computer may be low power to work with this type of video. Hi-def video can take a long time to render, particularly on a dual-core computer. But converted to a different format using another program will not improve things a lot unless you know for sure your perfect product converter Type 2 DV - AVI.

In fact, you can produce a Type 2 DV - AVI from this video AVCHD with Premiere Elements. Just place your AVCHD videos on this once and then go to the action/computer/AVI and select it as the DV PRESET. The video it produces should work very well in a project set up for widescreen DV. It will be the standard definition rather than hi-def - but, if you plan out your last video in standard definition (for example, online or on DVD) you might as well work with it in this format.

But as I have described above as your experience. Try not all high-end and do not mix the Everio format in your project again and see if it improves things.

Once find you a clean and efficient workflow that works with the best video formats, you should see a significant improvement in performance.

But for now, stay away from third-party video converters. They seem to be working against you.

  • Scanning audio from cassettes

Hi all, I wonder if I could trouble you with a few basic questions beginning.  I'm sure I could work this if I lived enough documents to support, but since I'm on a deadline on an immediate project any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have some old audio cassettes containing material having sentimental value than my family want me to scan and save to .wav or mp3 files.  Some time ago, I used 1.5 Audition for a similar project.  I decided to go to the Audition 3, which installed properly on my new Acer Aspire 5745 G computer laptop.

My plan was to play the tapes on an old Radio Shack tapes and player patch its output to the input of the microphone of the laptop.  The Platinum output tape seems not amplified (it was designed as a component of system - its release is a pair of RCA plugs).  So, although I have a RCA to 1/8 "stereo cable, I think I may need to run through a preamp?"

    A few questions: I wonder:

    (1) when I tried setting up a recording of the hearing session, warning came a box that said I currently have a driver of sound card on selected DirectSound (windows Sound of the hearing), and for best results, I must select an ASIO sound card driver via Edition > Audio Hardware Configuration.  I went there, but does not see any alternative to pilot.  What should I do?  I have to hunt around for a specific to the sound card in my laptop?  Any suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

    (2) once I have this solved, I figured I'd start a new session, hit ' Arm for Record "on tracks 1 and 2, click on the button Save and playback of the tape.  I notice that, in the left pane, it seems to be recorded on two files, follow 1_001.wav and monitoring 2_001.wav.  I want to end up with a single stereo file.  I have to configure differently?

    (3) does not seem that I would need a preamp between the turntable to cassette component and enter the laptop microphone?  I guess I could try it with and without, but was curious about what is typical.

    Thanks for any help possible.

Well, you have a number of questions.

First of all, don't worry too much about the Direct Sound vs ASIO warning.  Your integrated sound card probably does not have an ASIO driver and differences will make no real difference to a simple recording of two tracks.

However, you can see the microphone input on your laptop will not do what you want.  You're right that they released tape recorder is "not amplified" but it's still a "line source" rather than a microphone - and it will be something like 60 dB louder than a typical micro.  Don't worry if you're not familiar with "dB" - just take this to mean "much stronger."  You can be able to compensate by turning the levels down a long way... but you will work at the end of the beach where small moves on the level can make a great leap in the level.

The other problem you might have is that several portable microphone inputs are mono (not), designed for the type of microphone that you would use for working with Skype or Microsoft Live chat.  If this is the case, it is part of the reason why you get two mono channels recorded, rather than a single stereo track - the two ways to get exactly the same stream.

Normally, if you're in you're multitrack as it may seem, by clicking on the arrow at the right end of the input for channel selection you use you should have the choice between mono or stereo, and also of the source you're going to record.  Selecting stereo, you should get a single stereo track - but if my guess on the mono mic right, this won't help you much.

No, you don't need a preamp for a source line, but you may need a different sound adapter to let you take in a source stereo line level.  There are a lot out there - if you want to use microphones to record music it would be useful to make a decent, but if it's just your project of tape, something like a 202 Behringer or Alesis 'Linelink' would be probably everything you need and quite cheap.

    Hope this helps

    Bob
