  Photoshop CC 2015 is not compatible on Mac OS 10.7.5, however if you only use the version of Photoshop CC, then you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop back to default values.

  "To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

  My subscription to creative cloud updated Photoshop the other day. My iMac is running 10.8.5. Ever since this update, I can't open a JPEG file and get a message indicating "could not complete your request because the file was not found."   Mac OS X Lion (v10.7.5) is a bit old. But you mention "El Capitan" (v10.11.3), then, what OS are you using?

  Has anyone ran into this problem? Photoshop worked perfectly in the past and the other day I noticed that I can't open all the jpg files in Photoshop (tried all the usual ways to circumvent the opening problem), I get the error message: "Could not complete your request because the file was not found." I know that JPGs are fine, as they open in other applications. My work-around for the moment, is to open in preview mode before and export as a PDF file, then open the PDF file in photoshop, however, this is not ideal.

  Please install camera Raw from following link: Camera Raw of Adobe Photoshop CC and CS6 Installer

  Once done, open file Jpeg, you shouldn't get the error more.

  Hi - I tried for a few days in order to reopen all file ive created with photoshop cs5 but ketting the same message "Could not complete your request because the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop."

  the file is a psd file (just the regular photoshop save as an option) and the file in photoshop consisted of a quicktime movie file - which stood on a layer... (which I could rub through in the animation timeline) and a new layer video in which the individual frames, I drew some images with the brush.

  I noticed that the psd file is only about 10 MB, but the movie quitime file (as a stand-alone file - (before that I made in photoshop is 650 MB)) - is this a problem?

  The files may be corrupted or the files may be a camera that is newer than your version of ACR (make sure that you have installed the updates of the cab).

Use the 'Properties' command in Windows Explorer to open the file. However, not all the files are affected, and many display a thumbnail of the image and allow the user to open the file. I checked the properties of the file and everything seems normal, and the user is a local administrator on the computer. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  If the problem is only with few files, whether they are corrupted or locked (only permission to read)

  Please try to open the file in any other image editing program and save it as a Jpeg again.

  Then try to open the file duplicate in Photoshop.
