CCC.exe

What is CCC.exe on my computer? Whenever I stopped it says that CCC.exe still works, but then it stops. Can you just tell me what is CCC.exe?

You have an ATI video card on your system. CCC. EXE is The ATI Catalyst Control Center. It is a utility program that allows you to customize your display or add some quick access keys to different video profiles.

If you use any of these extended features, you should be able to uninstall via the programs and featuresControl Panel. Be sure to leave the ATI drivers on your system that are necessary for the operation of the base of your video hardware.

  • CCC.exe is not closed properly - Satellite A135

am running Vista Home Edition on a laptop Toshiba Satellite A-135.
Often, when I stop, I get a screen saying that the ccc.exe file does not close.

This program has to do with the display on the screen, I know, but I don't know why it isn't close.
What happens next is a bit weird to watch: most of the black screen, or a ghost of my desktop image can stroll, while the taskbar flashes.
It goes on for a minute or two, then finally the closing of Vista screen and it stops as it should.

But it seems to take much longer to stop when this sequence does not occur.

It's more embarrassing than anything else, but nobody knows how to fix?

I m not very well why it's disorders, but you can first try to clean the registry using the CCleaner.
If this is not enough, then you could try to reinstall

  • Why or what are the causes of computer shutdown when prompted ccc.exe?

When the computer is shut down, one element always remains... ccc.exe still running.  It does allow me to stop.   I am told that it has to do with the ATI radeon card.   What can I do to prevent or eliminate it?

    Hi TFossil,

It's not malware - it is a legitimate program.  Why it does not close when you close it down is another issue - I'm not sure about this.  I guess it's possible, it's perhaps because of malware (malicious software can cause almost anything), but I tend to doubt.  I'm more inclined to believe there is a problem with device drivers or maybe some corrupt system or program files.

This is the program file for the Catalyst Control Center (associated with the ATI radeon card).  Here is an article explaining the program, what it does, how to disable or stop leaving, how to remove this and other related information: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/8679/what-is-ccc.exe-and-why-is-it-running/.

To simply update the ATI drivers, see: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx.  You can also update your version of the Catalyst Control Center as well - make sure you're there.  To find the version you have, it is normally in the Help menu, about CCC, but in case of doubt, then just get the most recent version applicable to your card and your version of Windows and see if that helps.  It can't hurt to do this (update drivers and software are always good to have), but I would try personally follows first to see if that solves the problem.  If so, and I think it is, then you can always do the updates under less pressure (but don't please don't ignore what updates can also help in other ways).

You should be able to stop the Catalyst Control Center to start at startup by clicking on start / all programs / accessories / run and type msconfig.exe, and then enter. Go to the Startup tab and look for the Catalyst Control Center and uncheck the box next to it to keep it from running at the next startup. Save the changes and reboot. The system will now start without this program, so it will run only if you manually open the program to make changes (if needed or desired) and since it is not running, it won't be there to close to stop. I'm not 100% certain (but very, very close) that you don't need the program for the card to function properly, but I sincerely doubt. I have something similar (a Catalyst Control Center for my ATI card) and do not have this program running (I removed it from the start almost immediately and I don't really know if I never actually used it my video is fine as it is).

Although I don't know if it's free (I don't get that far), here's how to join the technical support of AMD, which should be able to help with this problem: http://support.amd.com/us/contacts/Pages/global-technical-support.aspx if nothing else works.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Hello

This problem can be fixed easily; Please goto programs and featuresand uninstall the AMD Catalyst Install Manager. Then please goto this site: http://www.amd.com/us/Pages/AMDHomePage.aspx in the upper right corner of this site it states: SUPPORT AND DRIVERS;  and directly below is: find a driver Please highlight this area with your pointer to extend the window and launch: Autodetect driver drop down and click: Driver Autodetect this will launch pilot Autodetect and move the window. Please goto the right side of the new window and choose Download Driver Autodetect, do not run it but save it on your desktop or where ever you will be, the scanner and then restart your laptop. I have to say now that pilot Autodetect is actually the beginnings of the new 12.4 CCC then after restarting your laptop, please make sure that the laptop is connected to the internet first and then double-click Autodetect driver file to launch the new CCC, make sure to follow all directions and accept. That should do it.

To access the CCC by the bureau, click any where clearly on the desktop and then click on CCC.

    Restore point:

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Switchable graphics can I or not?

My T61P with NVIDIA graphics died on me on Friday. I was 'under the gun' and tried to recover quickly and decided to replace it with another series of T. I scored a 'Fixer' T500 (2422 7VU; 09/09 xxxxx) off the coast of craigslist. He acknowledged my T61p Windows 8.1 Pro system disk and booted up immediately. After downloaded and installed all the drivers I could find, it is not clear to me if I "switchable graphics" or not. I have a mini dock and a configuration double monitor. My main screen of Lenovo is 1280 x 800 and the single display showing driver is "Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family (WDDM 1.1)" my secondary display a Samsung SyncMaster EX2220 turn in 1920 x 1080. It is connected to the DVI port on the mini dock. I installed the ATI Catalyst Control Center and "Switchable Graphics calculators", but I don't see an ATI display adapter in Device Manager. If I click with the right button on the desktop and select "Catalyst Control Center", two processes started. 'ccc.exe"(Catalyst Control Center?) and"MOM.exe"(monitor?). I also noticed that after that these two processes are started, my installed memory falls from 8 GB to 7.91 GB. I have installed the Thinkvantage Power Monitor but when I select 'High performance' in Control Panel Power Options "Apply" is "grayed out" if I try to start one of the programs in the Catalyst Control Program Files folder, that nothing happens? Do I not have an installed ATI chipset or not? If so, how can I make this work?

I have not cracked open except to install the memory, although I'll probably do so soon. The CPU fan has a really annoying rattle. That will certainly tell me more, but maybe someone knows the answer. Compared to my T61p with NVIDIA 570 M this system feels a bit slow and jerky video.

    Any idea would be appreciated.

2422 7VU isn't a real model. Do you mean 2242? If so, 2242-7vu integrated graphics only

  • New created manually on VISTA restore point erased all the other restore points

I have windows Vista and suddenly CCC.exe began to appear and has completely changed my office. All documents on my desktop and icons (file photo) have disappeared. My husband's office has not changed.  My main problem is I did a restore of the system on Jan. 28 and will use the system restore points was (the first being 18 Jan) but thought that I need to come back a few days, so I manually created a restore point from January 26, 2016. Nothing has changed, so I'll use the point 18 Jan restoration but disappeared from all available restore points earlier (before the manual creation of a new).

I want to make it clear that my restoration system and normally have restore points chose to EXCEPT those disappeared after creating a new restore point manually.   I spent a lot of time looking for answers without success - I've read a lot of problems have been System Restore does not work or restore points are deleted automatically, so that they do not apply to me.

    Help, please!

Although system restore must be maintained at a min. amount of restore points, in the cleaning disc, other options

Search button, clean the system restore, it removes all but the last restore point right... Back to youre

problem, try the R.clicking on the desktop/properties/find "change desktop icons" on the top left, again

window, select restore default settings, and / or modify, close... Then open cmd prompt, type cmd:

Sfc/scannow the file check/repair utility runs automatically. Once through, type: CHKDSK C: /F agree to restart.

    type: EXIT restart the pc

You can run the restoration cleaning before other measures are taken, this gets you the clean restore point

  • Is Paretologic Inc. microsoft certified partner valid?

I've tried and failed 3 times to install Service Pack 2 for Vista.  My computer does not restart when installation is complete, and I get a message saying "ccc.exe prevents your computer restart" Paretologic Inc. is a certified Microsoft partner and their PC Health Advisor, a tool of effective remedy.

    Hello

We had a similar question on Microsoft Answers a couple of days, then I copied my response below:
ParetoLogic is a Microsoft Certified partner. Note that this does not mean that we are in partnership with Microsoft. To become a Microsoft Certified Partners, we presented a number of our products for Microsoft test (compatibility with Windows 7, more recently), customer testimonials, participated in surveys of customers and employees of Microsoft Certified Professional. PC Health Advisor helps with a variety of tasks on the computer, but it cannot solve this particular problem. For more information, or for any specific product questions, I encourage you to contact the ParetoLogic support:
    Thank you!
  • Stop message

Lately when stop I often get a message CCC.exe is still running.  What is - this and why it works?

    Emma

I've narrowed the search for the latest drivers video & graphics available on this page:
    http://search.Dell.com/results.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=biz&cat=SUP&CS=555&k=Dell+Inspiron+1521&RPP=12&p=1&SubCat=DYD&RF=all&NK=f&sort=K&IRA=false& ~ SRD = False & ipsys = False & advsrch = False & ~ ck = anav

However, the list should be filtered away and you enter your service tag to do this. The list should be reduced from 122. Additional tips are here:

  • svchost.ext problems

I noticed one of my svchost.exe process went a little funky, after that I had to do a system restore to take a bad driver for my graphics card.  He started to eat 30-100% of my CPU usage.  After a day of reacent he has returned down to a maximum of 50% of the CPU usage and is enabled by running the windows update.  So far, he did install time extremely long, I'm constantly late to get an update to install and go beyond creating a system restore point. Im running the eddition 64 bit Windows Vista business.

Here is some information and any help would be greatly apriceiated.

Problem solved, after a bit of research and talk to some local technicians, and we saw it happen.  The system restore ruined a parameter that does not hurt the system. the solution was eather leave it is and putting day make sure to end it, repair windows or reinstalling itself on another hard drive.  Option 1 is what im on since its only activated by windows update.  Automatic updates are disabled and I can stop the process when it acts upward with a problem.

  • Computer running slow even after the factory restore

OK I'll try to summarize the best that I can about it.

I own a Toshiba U405D 1 1/2 years, delivered with a pre-installed version of Vista Home Premium. Not a SINGLE PROBLEM NEVER, until some time late last week.

All of a sudden (and I mean that), Windows Explorer, Windows update, and essentially the main components of my OS has become unstable. Does not not for no reason, going slowly like a dinosaur... I mean it was bad.

Virus scan; nothing wrong. Spyware; Nada. Check disk; It froze on me twice. Safe mode; error messages like "CCC.exe unresponsive", etc. I uninstalled MANY programs; process of elimination of obviously. Always problems. So, after that it froze several several times, finally got behave long enough to create recovery disks and wiping my HD.

After finally getting back to factory settings and starting over with my files and other, begins to have the same problems again, but now a new problem. Sometimes when the fan is, I hear a click or sound like something is stuck in the fan itself. Never had this happen before, ever.

I don't have IE8 or any software to download. Regarding the programs installed personally, I have Norton (usually I do not use it, but I did not have time to change my Anti-vir antivirus), iTunes, lots of music from my CD collection (about 8 GB) and school of working files.

I need to know if his time in the trash this thing and get a new, upgraded to 7 machine or can I retrieve this piece of ____?

    ~ Thank you ~

If the same issues are produced after a recovery, it seems that it may be hardware problems.

And the click could be a hard failure.

    See you soon.
