CD/dvd drive does not recognize drives or media

I have an acer aspire 5315, General windows vista home, copyright 2007 sp2,.

Processor: Intel (r) Celeron (r) cpu, 540 1.86 GHz

RAM: 1.00 GB

system type: 32-bit operating system

CD/dvd drive: TSSTcorp CDW/DVD TS-L462D ATA Device

I ran pc fixer, detective driver program MAST of automatic service of microsoft. And no matter what I throw, it gives a message that the driver is corrupted or missing files. It is running on E: / drive. When you insert a cd with the media on this issue and try to run it manually. He gives the date and wants to format the drive. Don't know what to do, when I try to update the driver, it indicates the latest version is already installed. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

Thank you

Hello

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

    Hello

After the installation of Vista my dvd player does not recognize discs!
No update XP! It was a clean install of Vista.

I found several links on the upper filter and lower registry entries this entry does not exist in my registry under the CDROM class.

I tried the XP disk it works fine and recognizes all.
Drivers are installed correctly no problem in Device Manager is invited.

So I have no idea how to run it, seems to be a Vista problem

Could someone help me? I am really frustrated to this topic

    Thanks for your help

    Maybe this helps:

-Remove the drive from Device Manager CD/DVD.
-Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    -Reboot the laptop

  • S5-1060 casing dvd player does not recognize the Bluray disks after you restore windows 7

I have a s5-1060 casing with a HP DH12E3LH bluray player, recently the computer was so I took out the restore disks and just do a fresh install of windows 7, it works fine now, BUT the only thing I can't understand is why my bluray in unity player not to see, recognize or play blurays now.

The Device Manager shows the best drivers are already installed (21/06/2006 microsoft 6.1.7601.17514 driver), and he will play CD, DVD, just does not recognize a bluray disc.  I might say, we watched top of 25-30 movies on it so I 'hope' is not burned or something altogether.

It indicates that the device is working properly in Device Manager he calls it a cdrom drive (not sure if it matters), but with a bluray in the drive, it shows under properties / status / no media in the drive.

I'm not really sure where to start on this, drivers seem strange to be so old, is it a firmware I can update if so where can I get that info, I went to the hp site let it detect the computer saw the driver updated but nothing which was directly related to the cdrom drive.

Thanks for any help on this just stumped at this point, as it was working before the full restoration to the computer using the recovery disks, then there must be something simple.

    Hello

In such cases, it s is not easy to say why it happens.
Usually if the drive cannot read media either material works badly or the CD / DVD is not compatible and taken in charge.

But we hope that the equipment is not damaged.
Try to remove the drive from Device Manager and restart the laptop.
After that restart of the operating system should recognize the drive again and load the driver. Then you could try to test the drive again.

My dvd player is no longer recognising some DVD movie bought she used to play without a problem. The difficulty seems to be related to the protection of copy on the DVD. The DVD drive is a LG HL-DT-ST DVD RAM GMA 4020 B. Not sure about a bios update for the computer, but checked and not found any updated firmware for the drive. I have download the K-Lite codec package.

Discs of film that won't play or play with unwelcome program include discs that played without any problem and a brand-new movie that won't play at all. In addition to WMP 11, I also have Media Player Classic, which will play the older discs after several tries and a message 'failure to protect against copying'. It does not recognize the new drive at all. The new disc will play on our DVD TV player.

After that I updated the DRM for WMP 11, all disks were playing without problem on my computer. Yesterday morning, I got Win XP update malware removal tool, and after that I installed it I was to place 1 - old records playing with a lot of difficulties and messages "has no protection against copying" and the new disk plays do not at all.

  • New computer: DVD player does not recognize discs

I have this computer (HP Pavilion) about 3 months ago. It already came with windows 8 when I got it, is not a recent issue of download. When I put a game disc in the DVD drive for installation, it is yet to report an error, simply, it does not recognize the disc. I tried with a DVD film as well, and it's the same thing. I never used the drive before today and was super disappointed that it didn't work. New: what's more relative than all works do not, is that the system does not recognize the potential error.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your request here in the Microsoft Community.

This would have occurred because of hardware or software related issues. I would like to know some information about this problem so that we can help you further.

1 have you checked the device status in Device Manager?

2 did you changes to computer settings prior to this problem?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

Run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter and check if that helps. It is an automatic convenience store to help you solve common problems with equipment and other devices.

Follow the steps to run the Troubleshooter:

    1. Press Windows + Q on your keyboard to display the bar of charms.
    2. Troubleshooting type, and then click Troubleshooting under settings.
    3. Now, type Hardware Troubleshooter in the option Search .
    4. Click on the convenience store equipment and devices and follow the instructions to run the troubleshooter.

    Method 2:

Try installing the latest drivers, including drivers for the chipset and check if the problem persists. This is to check if the problem is caused due to any driver related issues or not.

See the following Microsoft Help article to download and install the drivers.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/all-drivers

Note: the steps for Windows 8.1 also applies to Windows 8.

Please reply with the status of the issue so that we can better help you.

But my problem is the following... for some reason the DVD burner does not detect the 'NEW' blank DVD - R, there is no problem of detection of blank CD - R disc and I can burn fine on the CD - R. But for some reason it does not detect blank DVD?

When I put one in the drive, I don't get the popup asking what I want to do etc, or to go to WORKSTATION and look a the drive it shows no media present.

I have Nero Platinum 15 installed in my burning software, which has a function of DISK INFORMATION, which also shows that 'no disk in drive '.

    I have re installed Nero...

I uninstalled the drive and re installed

Re, I installed the latest drivers for Dell Optiplex

I bought a second axis of new blank DVDs

I took out what I left little hair!

Can someone provide me with a fix for this problem? ANY help is GREATLY appreciated guys!

  • My DVD ROM does not recognize DVD discs after upgrading Windows XP to Windows 7.

A few days ago, I updated my laptop to Windows XP to Windows 7. Everything seemed to go well until I tried to burn a DVD disc. The program I use for this purpose is Nero 9.4.26.0. So, I've discovered I don't have problems with writing and playing the usual CD but my laptop does not recognize and does not read or write DVD. Laptop HP Compaq 6510 b and the DVD ROM is MATSHITA DVD - RAM UJ - 860H ATA DEVICE. Please share your ideas about the problem. I really enjoyed this :)

Some CD / DVD readers may require an update to function well in Windows 7.
