CD/DVD unit has stopped working.
Yesterday (26/12/2012), I installed Adobe Photoshop elements 11 and first elements 11. Photoshop Elements installed fine. First seems to install OK, however, my CD/DVD unit has stopped working immediately after.
My system is an Asus CG5270 running Windows 7 w/service pack 1.
Honestly, no. I do not save nor I want to retrace my steps. My research at this stage consisted mainly of a Google and Yahoo search so I think that they are not terribly difficult to find, however, the point is now moot. I booted my pc today and am happy to report no error message more about my drive and it seems to work very well. I feel that this aberration was the result of PE - 11.
I note also that equity this incident will not be included in any comment (s) online can I create, and I appreciate the responses that I have received. Thank you..

Hello!
The CD/DVD drive is listed in Device Manager? You see an error code?
If the drive is listed in Device Manager, you should try to remove it, and then restart the laptop.Try to load the default settings in the BIOS.
Have you tried to remove the upper and lower filters by yourself? Here is the solution from Microsoft:

What can I do this message-"Toshiba DVD Player has stopped working"
Hello
My DVD drive used for good work... and then I installed iTunes.
He then worked for a while, but only by using "Run as Administrator".After a few weeks I started getting the message "Toshiba DVD Player has stopped working".
I uninstalled iTunes - and uninstalled and then re-installed DVD player - but it still doesn't work!
Any solution please? Thanks in advance for your help.
Ms. Q_reeus
My solution is to remove a Toshiba DVD drive and install VLC player. You can get it for free.
It can play all video formats, and you don't need additional codecs. -
DVD player has stopped working
I am running Vista Home Premium. My ATAPI DVD drive has stopped working. Device Manager shows it, drivers are updated, I tried Microsoft Fixit, nothing seems to work. I read about this problem, seems a lot of people have the same problem with no fix, what do I do?
I am betting its windows. So what is my options, buy windows 7. Maybe a different o/s. How many problems like mine have had to deal with?
Absolutely not... If the question is the disc or other material so you are stuck with a system
You can not install it on. And there may be serious flaws that are too expensive to repair.Previously published several ways to use a variety of boot floppies to see if the driver will be
actually boot outside of Windows. If this isn't the case, then you have a more serious problem. If it isn't
startup then you should re - install Vista to be sure there is no other problems with the
disc before any thought of the upgrade.I hope this helps and happy holidays!

Hello
If you didn t do a backup before deleting upper and lower filters that you can t restore it. This could be a bit difficult so, normally, you should always make a backup before you change or delete something in the Windows registry.
As Akuma writes, you can try the system restore. Maybe it will work

Windows DVD Maker has stopped working
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium and burn DVD with Windows DVD creation without problem. All of a sudden it has stopped working, I returned the video required (always in format avi.) and press next... Ready to burn the screen appears and then the message "(Windows DVD Maker a cessé de travailler, en recherchant les solutions) shows." He can find no solution, and then tells me to close the program. Is anyone out there can help, because it's more frustrating.

CD/DVD drive has stopped working and now not recognized in 'My Computer'
I have a HP Pavilion computer to office model a6109n, product number GG038AA, S/N CNH7250K0M. I've been running Windows 7 for 2 years. My CD player recently stopped working. I can't attribute this failure to any specific event that would have led to it. When a CD is inserted, the green light comes on for about 6 seconds then turns off. The CD player is not long represented on the 'My Computer' to readers list. The CD drive appears in Device Manager. I tried to roload the driver for CD drive, Windows gave a message stating that the best driver is already installed. I have no error message and ran three programs different viruses with no problems. I've also updated Windows available current configuration that has not solved the problem. Thinking it was a hardware problem, I checked the CD drive cable connections and that did not help. I replaced the CD drive with a new drive for HP and had the same symptoms. I returned the new CD player and he traded for an external CD drive and had the same symptoms in all USB ports. I tried every USB port with a flash player and the flash player saved on my computer in all USB ports. If my CD drive is being recognized by the Device Manager but not in my computer. It's okay if it's an internal or external drive. Everything else on the computer works fine. More troubleshooting ideas? Thank you.
Hello
First, try the automated Microsoft fixit at the link below.
Check if the drive works now.
If it still does not work, click on the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator". In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.
sfc/scannow (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)
Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.
Then, click on the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager. Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives. Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall. Do not delete if requested drivers. When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar). Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.
Kind regards

Sometimes when I press the eject button, that nothing is happening outside the orange light flashes and continues to blink. When this happens that I lose the drive in my computer and the only way to make it work again is to restart the laptop.
Usually, it works when I reboot then stops working, but it doesn't also sometimes from the restart.

Hello!
Have you looked on the Toshiba site for an update of the firmware? Search on the Toshiba site for an update, maybe this will solve your problem.
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download driversHowever, I think it could also be a hardware problem that your drive is defective. Then I'd go to a local ASP. A technician can check your laptop.

drive is Matshita DVD-RAM UJ-850 s a SATA drive
I use windows Vista
Driver provider Microsoft

Hello
Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.
Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
the question.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
