CD player does not read the series Satellite A recovery CD

Hello

I have a laptop my father gave to me and I need to restore it before using it for me because it works very slowly.
I have the restore cd but I have problems with the cd player.
It does not read some CDs, but it will not read the cd recovery so its as if it is not there.

Is it possible to restore it without the cd? I'm not very super-friendly up with computers, so please simplify if possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Claire.

You can try to boot from the original CD of Microsoft Windows.
Check if this CD is readable.

Then you can download the drivers from Toshiba from the European driver Toshiba page and could install the drivers

A few words about the CD drive problem, it seems that the goal of readers can calibrate in the right position and therefore some CD or DVD is not readable
In most cases, the CD/DVD drive should be replaced to solve these problems

See you soon

    2. what exactly is the problem with Windows install?

As the CD/DVD drive does not read the CD, we need troubleshoot CD player. We do not think that Windows Installer is related to the CD player.

To fix the CD/DVD read the issue, try the following steps:
    a. see your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media
    b. click Run Now button and run the tool successfully.
    c. restart the computer and check if the CD is read by the CD/DVD drive.

  • Need expert help! CD player does not read the contents of the disc. Help!

I searched and tried everything what we can imagine and impossible to find a solution. I can also restore because I don't really know this error at startup. Here are the symptoms and fixes I've tried. If there is someone out there who could help me it would be greatly appreciated!

    System:, I have XP w/SP3 installed. Dual-Core 3.0 G w / 3G P5N72T - MB Ram, HD 300 G, Asus CD/DVD Drive.

    Symptoms:

    • I had my CD player connected via PATA ribbon cable and my hard drive connected via a SATA cable.
    • My CD player will not autorun when an installation disc is installed.
    • My CD player will not read or display the contents of the disc when I use the file Explorer.
    • My letter of CD drive is D:\ and always appear as one of the discs.
    • When I use the command "run" and type: D:\install or D:\setup a windows "disk is not formatted" error appears stating "Windows is unable to read the disc. The disk might be corrupted or it could be in a form that is not compatible with windows.
    • My Green CD player will sweep on and I can hear it turn every time I try to explore the files or after I insert a disc, but she never autoruns, or displays content.
    • I decided to buy a new SATA CD drive and installed, unfortunately it does not work either exact problems remain.
    • I have two CD drives to another computer and they both work. So I know this isn't the disc or the lens.
    • I ran the utility Microsoft Fix It and she finds nothing wrong.
    • I ran the TweakUI to make safe autoplay features are on.
    • I did all the registry fixes proposed by microsoft and online forums. i.e. upper and lower, filters etc.
    • I removed the device from Device Manager and reinstalled.
    • I ran a virus, spyware, malware, and everything is clean.
    • I have the latest version of the system bios and all settings are fine. Most are on Auto that are associated with the detection.
    • Type of device DMA modes are selected in automatic detection.
    • If I could read a disc that I could try to reinstall windows XP, but it is not an option now until my CD player is fixed!
    • I don't have any installed like Nero buring CD software.
    • I actually installed Nero Light to see if it would read a disc, and of course I can see the disk and copy its content to my hard drive or take an image of the disk.
    • I tried to rename the drive, disconnect the drive.
    • I'm sure I tried other things, but can't remember right now!

Thanks for your help in advance!
    Mike

    Hi msavage2000,

It seems you have tried most of the steps to solve this problem. However, we would like to know if the drive does recognize the drive?

As we know readers work, I would like you to try a new PATA/IDE cable and check the result.

  • Droid X 2: doubleTwist player does not read the SD card

(And NO, I'm not talking Desktop App... the app works great and sync to sdcard_ext very well.)

Someone else had this problem? He is the only player who does not see the SD card. I'm trying to convince developers to doubleTwist, that's THEIR problem. They have so many users pass through hoops to describe their problem and give them details without actually solving the problem. It is approximately 7 months since the first issue has been reported to them. And of course, most of the users are deserting a ship and ask for refunds.

    Any thoughts?

There is something about the fact, however - after using about a dozen media players, that's really one of the only media players I found the sdcard_ext problem. I went to PowerAMP and I love it.

  • QuickTime Player does not read the sub file.

I tried to watch a movie with subtitles using a randomly video player, but I'm having some problems now. So I tried to use QuickTime Player to my surprise, there was no possible way to do it, but to burn the subs in the movie file. How is it that such expensive equipment does not have a video player that can actually read subs?

Please, take a look at this, I think that we should not have to download another video player to do this.

  • CD/DVR Player does not read the executable files on some CDs.

It reads files on the CD, but not an executable file. I have two computers identicle, so I can check the CD on the other to see if it works. Example: new Canon printer installation software not start.with game automatic or manual, since there is no file to run. The same CD works on my other machine. I replaced the CD/DVR Player with a new and got the same results. Reinstall the driver didn't work, makes me think that something in Windows is enabled or disabled causing this problem, but I don't know what it could be. Hello

Check your antivirus/security program. The just maybe not clear enough as is
always load chunks of itself into memory. So uninstall it and run its creator for removal tool
avoid problems causing scraps left. Here are the recommendations to
use during the test and even permanently.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leaving Standard, Web, and
    Operation of the network.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 5.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 5.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - home - free small, fast, exceptional protection CLOUD, working with other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here
or use Google to see how to remove.

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

    Hello

I'm having a problem with my DVD drive on my laptop Toshiba Equium A60. The DVD drive (Pioneer DVD - RW DVR-K13A) will play store bought movies etc. without problem. He will also read a blank DVD when you put it in the drive, but once the information/data are on the disc, it won t detect the drive.

I'm not really good with computer so any help would be grateful. The computer used for any play he stopped just do a few months back.

    Many thanks, Phil

    Hello Phil

It is not easy to find explanations for these issues. What you can try is to create own data CD and check if the drive can read. I recommend buying a blank DVD-R from TDK. Over the past 7 years I never had no problem read/write TDK media.

Media that cannot be read properly? Is - this DVD-R, DVD - RW, DVD + R or a DVD + RW?
    Please give us more information.

    1. Did you the latest changes on the computer?
    2. What happens when you insert a DVD in the drive?

  • Media Player does not read the dvd.

When you try to play a dvd, says Media Player cannot find the dvd directory

FWIW... Win XP cannot natively recognize Commercial
DVD video... it requires a DVD decoder.

If you could play before commercial video DVD...
do a system restore to a time before this started
    may be your solution.

Or you could buy a DVD decoder at the following link:

    Info about DVD decoders:

    I have a Pavilion a4310f Prod Nr: race AY014AA-ABA, Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I just found out that Windows Media Player does not recognize the songs, I recently downloaded from Wal-Mart music download Site.  The songs can be seen in the music library in a folder called 'Downloads' and I can open each song and he will play when double-clicked.  The problem is that I can't create a playlist containing the new songs and burn a copy of the reading list, because the songs are not listed in the Media Library Player any hot it is sorted (artist, Album, Genre, etc.).

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Problem solved!

Went to: start == > Control Panel == > troubleshooting == > view all == > and ran troubleshooting on the library and the settings of WMP.

Convenience store detected library corrupt and "in media files appear in the WMP library.  Then ran convenience store on WMP settings which reset OMP to default settings.  After that, everything worked as announced.

    Hi UbinTook,

You found this message from Windows Media Player due to one of the following reasons.

    a. you try to play a file that is not supported by the player.
    b. you are trying to play a file that the player does not support, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the player.

    Step 1:

Confirm that you are trying to play a supported file type. The following article lists the types of files (formats) supported by Windows Media Player.

Note: if you have tried to play the file type is included in this table, the file might have been encoded with a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.

    Step 2:
